The new Tomb Raider movie starts with Lara in a boxing ring if Walton Goggins' script is right

Until now, all we knew about the Tomb Raider movie is that it's set to star Alicia Vikander as Lara (opens in new tab) and Walton Goggins as the bad guy (opens in new tab). Now, thanks to Goggins we know a tiny little bit more.

Goggins posted this image to his Instagram last week: 3... and imma bout to go Raid a motherfucking Tomb. (opens in new tab)

Thing is, if you play around with brightness and contrast, and a few other filters, you can just about make out the first page that's showing through.

This is what I've picked out so far:

xxxx in a boxing ring xxxx
xxxxxxx is sweat stained xxxxx. Lara xxxxxx

xxx trainer scrolls through his xxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxx xxxx  xxx xxx tries to grapple xxxx
xxx rapid, unfocused xxxx that she xxxx

Stop flailing

Stop looking at your phone

The trainer puts his phone away sheepishly. Lara’s struggling in the ring

xxxxxxx  how to text?

xxxx on you. I’m done here

She forces herself up xxx
xxxx blows which hit xxxx
xxxxxx who strike xxxxx

The film seems to start with a fight then, with the mention of 'grapple' and, potentially, head kicks suggesting something MMA shaped rather then boxing.

From the words I can pick out it sounds like Lara is sparring but initially getting whupped while her trainer looks at his phone. She berates him, takes a beating and then falls to the mat before getting up and destroying her opponents.

I'm extrapolating a bit here but it fits what words are visible, and the tempo of an average opening scene - Lara makes a strong, heroic appearance, faces defeat and then fights back. Loud music plays, titles roll... It's a good clear way of setting up the character.

If you can pick out any other words let me know and I'll update the 'script'.

Directed by Roar Uthaug and starring Alicia Vikander, Tomb Raider will open in cinemas on March 16, 2018.
