TalkRadar UK Episode 73

Listen now....

It's new podcast time.. YEEHAW! Not sure why we threw some cowboy lingo in there at the start because this episode of your favourite gaming podcast has very little to do with the wild-west or indeed ranching. Hang on, we do have to lasso Dave H as he refuses to let other people talk at times. Yes, it all makes sense now.

There's a special guest on the show, in the form of chief tea-maker and Cundy foot massager, Darrell Skipper - GamesRadar UK's work experience man.

Expect to hear Dave H become a force of nature with words that can not be stopped. Guest star, Darrell Skipper's Level Skip Sections and a chat about all things games.

I have a question if poss for Justin next week. With the 3DS - if you put an original DS game in like dragon quest, can the thumbstick be used to control these games, just limited to 8 direction or whatever it is - or do you have to use the D pad which is underneath it (and is this a bit too low or is it good to use). I still have the original DS model so the backwards compatibility and how good it is might be a nice reason to get one.

Did Dave take a shitload of E & Red Bull before this episode? He's mental in it lol.

Good show as always BUT Dave H, I usually love your work but what kind of send off was that for Bizarre Creations? It would have taken you all of 1 minute to find the games BC have made on their website instead of that rambling shite about MSR being their first hit game. Bizarre Creations became noticed with their Formaula One game for the PlayStation, you know the F1 game that included commentary by Murray Walker. They topped their original effort with F1 '97 which was considered by many to be the best console F1 game (until the Codemasters released F1 2010) and is still one of the best F1 games ever made despite it's age. Bizarre then made MSR which grew into the PGR series for MS. PGR 2 was a system seller as it was the best racer on the Xbox with the best Live match making and online community. PGR4 is still the best arcade/sim hybrid game available for the 360, the reason BC was annoyed with MS was than MS chose to heavily market Forza 2 over PGR4. When BC signed with Activision, MS didn't bother to advertise PGR4. Still, it sold over 2 million copies without being bundled with hardware! Cheers.

Let me be the first to say "Woo" and indeed "Hoo!".
  • Rojoco - January 26, 2011 8:21 p.m.

I like how enthusiastic Hooters is but he needs to calm down a bit and let others talk. His constant blitz of words gets hard to follow sometimes. Also my twitter responses to QotW never get read out : ( Do I still need to tag them with #truk?
  • Eaxis - January 26, 2011 8:15 p.m.

Oh glorious day. Can it be? The fabulous gaming podcast talkradar, ready to be downloaded across the sea by me.

I'm sure glad contributions to the TRUK fan art thread have gone up lately. I hope it continues! Everyone's doing great!
