Soulcalibur V Ezio gameplay walkthrough

Earlier today we posted our impressions of Soulcalibur V, the newest iteration of the extremely popular (and bountifully bouncy) fighting series. But for as interested as you all are in the game's full, robust roster, we're sure that there's one character in particular you want to see more than any other: Ezio Auditore da Firenze. The Assassin's Creed II/Brotherhood/Revelations star is this game's guest character, so we took him for a spin to see how he plays.

Well, what do you think? We expect to see him showing up in a lot of online multiplayer games, especially considering he was pretty easy to get a hang of pretty quickly (see: he's sort of easy to win with).

I think they're struggling to sell this. Due to the fact that every game store I enter is advertising the hell out of the fact that you can play as Ezio in it but negeleting to tell us it's not a new assassin's creed game.

Ezio looks a little...odd. It's probably because I'm used to seeing the older Ezio now but something just seems a bit off - even his fighting style.

It's because they used the costume from the trailer. The white material appears to be made out of cloth instead of leather. Even then, it's not 100% accurate, like how the outer vest/jerkin is connected to the collar instead of it being two separate shirts.

Yeah the costume does look a bit wrong now you mention it. I thought the face looked wrong more than anything - sort of like the character creator generic faces. The fighting style itself seems strange as well; not very "Ezio" if you know what I mean. It seems a bit flashy and OTT for someone trained to silently murder a target and slip into anonymity in an instant. But I suppose the proof is in the playing.

You do realize there are a host of new characters that you guys could've played. I REALLY want to see how that crystal ball girl works.

Can't wait. We're knee-deep in 2D fighters right now, and I'm terrible at them. I need Soul Cal to satisfy my fighting lust.
