You might know developer Frogwares thanks to their work on the Sherlock Holmes games, such as the upcoming Sherlock Holmes and the Devil's Daughter, or the previous installment, Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments. This week, the studio announced that they're mixing their investigation games expertise with open world design and diving deep into HP Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos for their next project: The Sinking City.
In The Sinking City, players take on the role of a 1920s investigator sent to the town of Oakmont, Massachusetts. The quiet little New England village is in the midst of a terrible and lengthy flood, one with a supernatural origin. There's not much more solid information right now, but the beautiful concept art and spooky screenshot have me tickled pink.
Frogwares notes on its website that they'll have hands-on opportunities with the game at next week's GDC conference. Until then, much like the infinite cosmos upon which we are but a miniscule speck of insignificance, it is a mystery.
