Sid Meier's Pirates!: Live the Life - hands-on

Easy to pick up and difficult to put down, Sid Meier’s Pirates!: Live the Life won over both fans and critics with its addictive gameplay and high replay value. If you missed out on this award winning game, you can look forward to putting a pirate in your pocket when Pirates! sets sail for the PSP in February 2007.

For those unfamiliar with the game's 17th century piratical premise, you play a young lad who has led a revolt on a slave ship on its way to the New World. After commandeering the ship, you'll journey through the Caribbean in a quest for revenge against the evil Marquis Montalban - who sold your family into slavery.

But bringing this despicable Frenchman to justice is only a small slice of pie. With an assortment of minigames ranging from ship battles and sword fights to ballroom dancing and treasure hunting, Pirates!' handheld debut seems well suited for freebooters on the go. Like its PC and Xbox predecessors, the PSP version hooks you in with its simple, yet addictive gameplay. There's always "one more thing" that you'd like to do - whether it's sacking an enemy port or capturing a treasure laden vessel.
