Resistance 3 'Director's Cut' trailer ups the fear factor

Insomniac's live-action trailer for Resistance 3 was certainly one of the highlights of Spike's VGA awards broadcast, but according to the studio it was about 30 seconds shy of its original vision. Now, thanks to raw power of the interwebs, Insomniac has released the its Resistance 3 Director's Cut trailer featuring one shocking scene you didn't see on TV.

The extended trailer was posted to the European PlayStation Blog by Insomniac's Senior Community Manager, James Stevenson. In the post, Stevenson assured viewers that the both the original live-action footage and the extra bits are representative of the actual game, saying: “This restored Director’s Cut features a lot of the extra live-action that Prologue shot – including a dark warehouse scene at the beginning. Each of the live action moments does represent a section of the game, despite the only gameplay footage occurring during the boat.”

According to Stevenson, Insomniac will unwrap more of Resistance 3's secrets in a “special episode” of its podcast, the Full Moon Show, set to be posted on the European PlayStation Blog on December 29th.

Resistance 3 is scheduled for a September 2011 release.

@NightCrawler_358 ...but Killzone 2 E3 2006 did have real gameplay that was featured in the game...:/

Holy Crap in my pants, the beginning with the jump got me good haha. it'd be sweet if the hammer meant they are adding melee weapons to the game, or at least campaign. All the new weapons/redesigns look great. Of course this could be similar to the E3 2006 Killzone 2 trailer as in... not real gameplay.

i just hope the Co-op campaign makes a return by far the best co-op in recent years

When the character was holding the pistol, it looked like the game was Call of Duty with more creative Zombie designs. The graphics looked practically identical.

Yeah I never understood why Resistance 2 was knocked so much... I thought it was a step up in most aspects... but this has some serious potential... Might even trump Killzone 3... I always thought the Chimera were a more compelling adversary anyway... (sorry but in my book a mysterious assimilating alien threat is more engaging than eh, neo space-nazis... as good as the killzone series and Brian Cox's voiceover are) Hopefully this entry will flesh out a lot of the narrative potential the series has shown so far (chimeran legacy on earth, cloven etc...) Would like to see cloven in-game this time!! (I don't have a PSP)

Seems pretty cool. Honestly, i think I liked Resistence 2 more then other people did. It was fun.

The boat scene I think was actually the best part, for some reason. Probably because it reminded me of Half-Life. Oh wait, thats the game I wanted, not this.
