Rayman Legends coming to Vita

Ubisoft has announced that Rayman Legends will be released on Vita later this year alongside the previously confirmed console versions. The Vita edition will include five exclusive maps, playable with green bottle fly Murphy and controlled through the system’s rear touchpad. Local and online multiplayer will be supported, as will the title’s online challenge mode. Buyers will also receive two exclusive character costumes: a Prince of Persia outfit for Rayman and a Sam Fisher one for Globox.

Rayman Legends was originally due for release as a Wii U exclusive in February 2013, but was delayed to allow for a multiplatform launch on Xbox 360 and PS3 too. Developer Ubisoft Montpellier has said that the extra development time afforded by the game’s delay will allow the studio to add new characters, bosses and levels to the final product. Last month, Ubisoft brought forward the Rayman Legends release date from September to August 29 in Europe and August 30 in the UK. The game will launch in the US on September 3.

This probably means I'll be buying this game twice. Origins was my first ever platinum trophy, so Legends will probably get added to that collection...twice. Because I have a shameless love for Origins and have platinumed it twice.

Origins was an amazing game no doubt. :)

The game deserves it, and it sequel does as well. Rayman and DK are setting things right in the 2D Platforming genre with true old school difficulty of modern games where its only attempted by indies. When i eventually get a Vita to accompany my 3DS, ill be doing the same.

I actually prefer the Vita version to the console version for Origins. I think it's because the Vita version seemed zoomed in a little so the movements were faster and more fluid. I may well be wrong about that though. I had to come back to the console version just this year before I could stand to play it because it felt so slow coming off the portable.

Isn't that nice. Unfortunately I don't have a Vita, but I do have a PC. I also have Rayman Origins. Why haven't they announced it for PC yet?
