RadarPlays - Defiance

Trion's Defiance came out this week, opening the doors to Syfy's new science fiction series. Our review isn't coming for another week or so, but we've recorded a RadarPlays of the shooter/MMO so you can see what the game has to offer--besides doing flips off of ATVs, of course. Take a look!

Want to hang out with GamesRadar's editors while taking a look at retro games, new releases, and totally random experiences? RadarPlays is for you. Mondays we'll be checking out blasts from the past on RadarPlays Retro, Wednesdays we change things up to whatever we feel like playing with RadarPlays Shuffle, and Friday is packed with the strangest titles you’ve never (hopefully) heard of in RadarPlays Freaky. We'll also release RadarPlays for all the new releases, so be sure to check back!

So, I presume that you did NO research on this game before you played it, am I right? Cause you guys act like you didn't know what the heck you guys were talking about as you described the game as you played it?! You don't spend Ego; that's your level (current max is 4000+); I look at it like, you're a Lvl98 n00b. lawls

From what I've seen from playing the beta and now the actual game. I've developed an opinion of the game that everyone I've talked to agrees with. If you're looking for something special, some amazing mechanic or revolutionary gameplay don't buy Defiance. The game doesn't really excel in any one area there is nothing truly awesome here. HOWEVER. Despite not being perfect at anything the game does however prove to be consistently above average in every area. The game is expansive and has a multitude of mechanics that aren't amazing but are all good and all engaging. Simply the game somehow manages to be above average in every aspect. This being said the game feels very complete if lacking a bit of polish. My personal verdict. Great game, don't expect anything amazing, expect a game that you can play for hours and hours and hours and still be having fun and honestly enjoying it.
