Forget Call of Duty: Black Ops -this may be the greatest gaming news you hear all week. Double Fine front man Tim Schafer has said that he's finally in the mood to consider a sequel to the 2005 cult adventure game, Psychonauts.
Speaking words that many have longed to hear, Tim Schafer told PSM3 that the time is right to start pursuing apublisher for a Pyschonauts sequel, perhaps even as a downloadable title, saying: "I'm ready to do it. I'd love to do it. It's really a question of getting a publisher who's interested in doing it."
Back in Septemberit was reported thatSchafer's former Monkey Island partner Ron Gilbert had joined the Double Fine team, after which it was later revealed that both Schafer and Gilbert were fiddling with ideas for a handful of secret projects. Putting on our amateur detectives hats, it's safe to assume that the idea for a Psychonauts follow-up has been brewing for a while.
"Over the years it's gotten into the hands of a lot of people through being two dollars on Steam for a while, and being pirated," added Schafer."So it's gotten out there. So if all these people were going to buy the sequel it would be a big hit.”
