The new slimline PSP will hit Japanese stores on September 20 for 19,800 Yen ($162), Reuters reports.
Revealed at Sony's E3 press conference last week, the new-shape PSP is lighter, slimmer, features improved battery life, faster loading times and can be plugged into a TV for big-screen play.
Sony has confirmed that the new console will launch in two colors; black and silver, and is expected to help the PSP pull back lost ground on DS, which has sold phenomenally since its 2004 launch.
The US and UK release dates are also set for September. Sony says it'll be making an announcement "in due course."
