PSP Go unboxing video

We've one of the first retail units - see it being unboxed and mauled

Words: on August 27, 2009

Following last week's momentous PS3 unboxing video this week we've got another Sony hardware surprise with the unboxing of a PSP Go, the new cutified, sexified, sliding PlayStation Portable.

To see the first glimpse of a PSP Go in the wild (well in our office) see the video below where we mumble about it a bit and try to rub the fingerprints off unsucessfully.

I'll take the Go into consideration. I never got the original psp anyway. It would definitely be something to take to college to play during free time.

The first and last PSP I bought was the original one. This looks like something that would be good to upgrade to. I just like how it's more portable. It looks like it would fit easlily in your pocket and you wouldn't have to carry UMDs around. I'll probably wait for the price drop though.

    @Manaconda

The N-gage was stupid and THE worst handheld ever. But they have done nothing to actually improve the PSP itself by the looks of things. APART FROM MAKE IT SLIDE UP AND DOWN! WOW! LOOK AT THE SLIDEY!

    felixthecat,

the psp is far from the worst handheld ever. its not even the worst handheld in the last 10 years. the ngage and gizmondo were at least 10 tiimes worse. the psp while it has its issues is a pretty nifty device.

all that said i wont be buying a psp go

Its not all a bad deal really. They added the sliding feature to make it portable. I myself hated carrying around the thick game on my pocket. And they added the 16gb hard drive! now if you have umds yeah its stupid to switch to the psp go. but if you are like who have no umds and still has 20 or so titles saved on the ps3 ...its awsome. needless to say you can't take that many ps1 titles on the psp atm. I had the 8 gb since the 16 one was way to expensive and I only had so many games in it. now with this its gonna be great since I have a few movies and have 21 psp titles on the ps3 and 21 ps1 titles on the ps3. its freaking perfect. UMDS dided the moment they came out as well. so if you are gonna arrogant and complain about it... keep ur psp mang! no one is making you get one yo. it is not an upgrade and it is not a new system! so its not a bad deal at least for someone like me! psp is by far the best gaming system since freaking ds has all the kiddie games. sorry I stoped playing nintendo a while ago. I like blood and gore and action...not something I can play with a 7 year old. so yeah by far psp go is an awsome system gonna be great pick it up have fun! :D Kudos to sony

Just a little bit of info, this PSP adds bluetooth, and in turn allows the use of bluetooth mics. Not a huge feature, but something NO other psp has, so it's not just "slidy slidy". It's improved all around, and for people who do not have a psp, this is definately a solid purchase.

I purchased the psp 2000,then got rid of it,I would purchase the 3000 before I would ever buy the Go! For me it's just something to have the umd and the manual, something I can see my money. I guess the Go cuts out the gaming stores far as buying and trading games!

Ugh, I wanted a refined version of the PSP not this fisher price toy looking thing. The size is fine and it looks great but the buttons don't seem to be recognizeable on touch alone which sucks and HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A CASE FOR THAT!?
I mean it seems like you would need a horrible looking hardcover case for it..
guess I'll just have to wait for PSP 3

I don't see why they would take away the UMD. i mean, it was so succesful:

Universal Media Disc' is a backronym for UMD. This term refers to the fact that the UMD will only run on the PSP and will universally be useless for any other machine, player, or console. Sony views this as a personal accomplishment, and laughs at those who do not see it their way.

haha, looks cool, but a little more cheap then the original design, kind of plasticky.

smart to put this up after the slim unboxing vid's success, but I doubt people care as much about this...

ReCaptcha: you're dumpy lol what did I do to deserve that????
