Ever wondered what that place between Heaven and Hell looks like? Perhaps this selection of new shots from the upcoming Xbox FPS Painkiller: Hell Wars gives a glimpse into those otherworldly limbo lands. Painkiller: Hell Wars follows the story of car crash fatality Daniel Garner who is ever so slightly miffed to discover that his access to heaven is denied and, instead of spending a peaceful eternity hanging with God, finds himself in purgatory facing a seemingly endless wave of demonic gun fodder. The gothic-styled Hell Wars takes elements from the original Painkiller and the follow-up expansion pack, Battle out of Hell, both of which were released for PC and offered players a chaotic, no-nonsense slaughter-fest that added up to a bloody decent shooter. If the transition from PC to Xbox is successful, gamers with twitchy trigger-fingers should be well-served by Hell Wars.
