Painkiller Hell & Damnation coming October 31

Legends say the barrier between this world and the afterlife is weakest on Halloween, so it's a logical time to plunge into Purgatory with Painkiller Hell & Damnation. The remake of the 2004 over-the-top shooter and its expansion Battle out of Hell will arrive on October 31 on PC, publisher Nordic Games announced today.

The new version of the game developed by The Farm 51 boasts updated visuals, a full co-op campaign and other new modes, and updated weapons and enemies. The version releasing on Halloween is "uncut," with a regular edition for $20 and limited edition including an artbook and in-game items for $30. A censored version of the game will land on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on January 22, 2013.

No mention was made as to what was cut from the January versions of the game, but given Painkiller's demonic, gory lineage we're guessing it was probably an extended scene at a petting zoo.

Hello from one of the first beta tester and a long time player of painkiller. I understand the worry of the it being a full game but this is not the case. They pick the best levels to start with DLC to come later! I have been testing it for months and the game ROCKS so far.

Check your facts, playfire. PS3 and 360 versions are uncut. They release at the same date as German censored version for PC and it is indeed censored.

FYI, Farm 51 is actually made up of several ex-People Can Fly guys, so this may be worth a look. Too bad they're going the Tony Hawk HD route and only releasing "greatest hits" levels from the original games versus doing them all. Where there's a buck to be made I guess... Also, the console versions are going to be censored? That can't be right.

There are two seperate versions. A uncensored version that comes out Halloween and a censored version for Janurary 2013.
