Nintendo Direct on June 11 will cover Smash Bros, new 3D Mario

The next Nintendo Direct is coming on June 11 at 7 a.m. PST, 3 p.m. BST. That's right before the LA Convention Center opens for the first day of E3, and Nintendo will make up for its press conference no-show with some big announcements.

This could be the Direct to end all Directs, as Nintendo tries to grab mindshare from consumers worldwide outside of the media-centric venue. That said, the company will still have a presence on the show floor.

Non-media folks can also get their hands on playable E3 demos set up at Best Buy stores across North America.

Since Smash Bros is supposed to be on the 3DS as well, this still doesn't mean I will get a Wii u. However I may at least watch this one.

This direct shall be the deciding factor on whether or not I will buy a Wii U in the future Nintendo. It's time to drop some bullet bill bombshells.

I just hope its not another one of those cheap stupid "new super Mario bros" games that takes them like a week to make with a level editor

Not saying that Mario games are bad because they aren´t, maybe just with one or two exceptions. Mario games are allways great since 30 years ago and yes I agree with all that, Mario Galaxy is awesome, Mario Kart as well and I did play the RPGS on DS but really, Mario is a character that Nintendo should stop using and abusing for everything . I grew tired of Mario I guess and I don´t think I will buy another game with Mario on it. Or maybe I just grew tired of Nintendo. I think that´s the really the case here, Sorry Nintendo, I don´t think I love you anymore, not that you care :P

i think i may die nintendo loyal when it comes to my game selection i love mario here's a way you could probably look at it: since mario pretty much tries every genre you could think of it as a nintendo seal of quality time with friends, they vouch for the game with their mascot i admit maybe my collection of mario games is missing a few great entries and i don't have much of a excuse but i don't need one and you don't either if a game looks fun pick it up, forget the name don't let it force or stop your purchasing decisions

It's not your fault. It's the "New" series. It made Mario redundant and fall off a cliff.

Looks like Nintendo is bringing out the big guns.

ALL 3 IN ONE DIRECT DAMN Also, after thinking it through, the best buy advertisement, despite.being only limited to US, will really attract costumers. Special E3 games that barely leave E3 coming to an actual store will no doubt cause attention.

Finally, in the midst of all this Xbox One hoopla, we get some actual games to talk about! Bring on the new Smash Bros., I am ready!
  • ObliqueZombie - May 23, 2013 12:11 p.m.

Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart is all I need to keep my going. Hell, that would justify a WiiU purchase from me.
  • punkamisto - May 23, 2013 11:02 a.m.

Really, Mario? AGAIN? Believe me I play Mario Games since 1989 and enough is enough..Let the guy rest for 5 years or so..
  • GarcianSmith - May 23, 2013 11:28 a.m.

I'd agree with you if a vast majority of the recent games weren't excellent. Galaxy 2 is THE best platformer I've ever played. The Mario and Luigi RPG series is consistently brilliant. Mario Kart is just... well, Mario Kart - nigh on multiplayer racing perfection (fuck you, Blue Shell). So, if Mario WiiU is anywhere near the quality of his Wii outings then... bring it on.

Your underestimating the Power of Mario Kart, especially after the online in Mario Kart 7. It's hard to complain when Mario is pulling out great games and GR said it themselves, 3D Mario is always the exception. Plus it depends on what you expect, we only get some franchises once a Nintendo console so we should see some absence of Mario eventually. Otherwise Different gameplay mechanics make them entirely different things.

    Have you even played Galaxy?
