Mortal Kombat's 'Season Pass' released, offers DLC package deal

Eager to increase the size and girth of your Mortal Kombat roster? There's a cream for that. And by 'cream', we mean Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm's newly launched 'Season Pass' which allows players to pre-purchase the next four character DLC packs for a reduced bulk price, while also skoring some klassic goodies along the way.

Available only to Xbox 360 owners, the Season Pass sells for 1200 Microsoft Points (US$15) and includes access to four new playable characters, which will be drip fed one by one over the spring. The first, Skarlet, will be available tomorrow; with Kenshi, Rain and an “unannounced new entrant” to follow at later dates. All characters will arrive with their own moves, in-game cinematics, a pair of fatalities, as well as a compatibility pack to ensure their arrival to the tournament doesn't throw off NetherRealm's delicate balance. As an added bonus, these compatibility packs will include two free “klassic skins” per DLC combatant, the first of which will arrive with Skarlet in the form of Cyrax and Sektor skins from Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.

Non-Season Pass holders will still be able to purchase the new characters at the same time as their Season Pass brethren for 400 MPs (US$5) a piece. They will also be privy to the free compatibility tweaks and 'klassic skins'. Doing the math, that means the main benefit to picking up the Season Pass is the opportunity to buy four characters for the price of three.

The Mortal Kombat 'Season Pass' is available now for download on the Xbox Live Marketplace. No word if PS3 owners will receive a similar opportunity down the road.

You know I really love this season pass stuff better then just buying one at a time and feeling ripped off if there isnt enough content.

I suggest l.a noire pass instead of this lol

If only I hadn't been so eager to kill Kratos, I could have had the version that offered the season pass. Eh. Biting Kratos' face off is still worth it. 'andelop Mk'? Is that who the 'unannounced new entrant' is, ReCaptcha? He better be worth the $5.00.

I may buy this. It's a gamble though; I don't care about skarlet, but want Rain and Kenshi. So skarlet would just be a bonus with the pass. Problem is, is the unkown guy worth it? Please be someone awesome.

Lol.... all i can do is laugh, Warner brothers is the first company to follow Rockstars L.A Noire Pass of all companys..... Smart yes... Stupid yes... Why? It's a good marketing sale, but L.A Noires was 800 points (10$ US) Now the Mortal Kombat Season Pass, You guys do know that it says Season, Read the fine print, Its only good for summer, any other DLC that comes out wont be discounted after the summer is over. Thats been cleared up already on a few sites, Not too mention its 1200 MSP for 4 new characters and useless classic skins... Uhm...Im not bashing mortal comeback but they should of put the price at 800 MSP, Cause 4 characters for now, 1 mysterious character, compared to L.A Noires' 4 cases, a gun, suits, challenges, (missing anything?) Oh! Not to mention ALL Future DLC will be 50% off. Same thing with mortal kombat, But thats only for the season from what im reading on alot of other articles about it. Lol..... And another thing that call of duty elite shit is a major joke..... $$$$$ For a free type website for Call of duty? I wouldn't even go near it considering all of the hackings of game developers websites going down and stealing information. aka (Brink) Sign up for your leaderboard stats? Thats kinda lame.... Were in a debt bad here in america and alot of people are poor, seems like they are getting kinda greedy, But thats just my eyes opening up to bullcrap i guess.

Might as well get the Season pass since I plan on getting the 4 DLC characters anyway. $5 is $5.
