Modern Warfare 3 launch trailer reminds you of imminent Modern Warfare 3 launch

The world is about to be forever changed, and Activision wants to make sure you're ready for the transition. That is to say, the company's easing your passage into an age in which Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is available for purchase, playing and hollering at. In the final two weeks of existence as we know it, prepare yourself by clicking, watching and (if you like) hollering at this launch trailer.

Modern Warfare 3 is loosed upon the world on Nov 8 (apart from Asia, where it'll come out on the 17). We had a hands-on with the game's multiplayer last month, and will be bringing you a review soon enough.

I like both games and will buy both but I have to say this new COD dosen't look to be anything different than the last few, even with out much info on the game I already know what to expect from it... The graphics on previous games set the standards but this time they seem to be showing their age, theres a story mode I will play through once that will be pretty much the standard COD singleplayer we all know, a multiplayer thats going to be perfectly playable and fun but again just more of the same with a few new maps and weapons. I do expect COD will still sell more than BF3 based on its name alone but it really does look like EA has the better game this year both with graphics and variety.

Will be getting both MW3 and BF3. Still can't understand the hate for either game. I wonder how many readers will get annoyed by this comment?

The lack of coverage on this game is hilarious. Seriously, the amount of hype it DOESN'T have (from what i see anyway, it peaked at XP, then died off. And by hype i mean coverage, not fan excitement; there's very few articles out there for this game (that i know of anyway)) is humorous. I'll admit i enjoyed the hell out of MW2, and hated Black Ops but praised it for trying to be original (at least to the franchise, with wager matches). So far i see very little that could interest me. The separated killstreaks intrigue me, but i know its still going to be an overpowered mess. On critiquing the game so far; it looks old. Very old. They haven't revamped the engine since MW2, but Activision claims that it has the better game because it can run 60 FPS. However i can't say BF3 looks better from the 360 beta (on the PC its practically photo-realistic), but considering that it was a beta i hope that the graphics look so much better than that shoddy mess (at least it was up close anyway).

It would've been so nice to be disappointed, but the BF3 people are so predictable. I love that the biggest complaint I see is that MW3 is only played by immature little kids, yet it seems to be the BF3 fanboys who are constantly trolling the MW3 videos. Like, all of them. Thousands of dislikes and negative comments. Meanwhile, BF3 videos go unmolested. And that's why I can't wait for this game: the adults play it, while the immature trolls play BF3. Who would want to play multiplayer with jerks like that?

XBox Live. Your argument is invalid.
  • GeoShock - October 25, 2011 7:32 a.m.

Really? Don't want to be called a sell-out do you? ;-)

I like Battle field games as well as call of duty but what I don't get is why are these Battlefield fans complaining and bad mouthing call of duty saying "its a wast of money" and "Its just the same old thing" Well the same goes for Battlefield 3. Its just the same Bullet physics and extra destruction to buildings. and fyi u can be tactful on both games.and as for the camping thing snipers do it on battlefield too so it can be camping all around, though modern warfare 3 says they are keeping that to a minimum but it depends on how u play. all in all there shouldn't be any griping over either eventhough i'm a hardcore CoD fan i want both games.the only beef i have with battlefield is the fans who purposely go on Call of duty videos and etc saying its better and generally talking smack. Question...If u don't like it then why comment on it or even bring another game up when it has nothing to do with the topic or said game.makes me think u want it but don't want to be a so called sell out.just play the damn game!

To me, it seems as though BF3 is their shot at overshadowing CoD fans. MW, MW2, and Black Ops were and still are more popular than BC and BC2. They received much more attention than what DICE had to offer, which is IMO unfortunate. BF3 is now their chance of showing what they have. It's stupid crap immature middle school kids start. They are mainstream shooters. It's the same concept, just a different look (you run and shoot at people, but with different graphics). If you want a game with great graphic and gameplay, go to Walmart, buy a football for $10, and go play with it. You have great graphics, great gameplay, and cross-platform multiplayer.

You guys have played this same exact game every year... why are you exciting to shell out another $60 for the same thing?
  • UberNoob - October 24, 2011 3:14 p.m.

For me, it's the story. I find it much more entertained than most shooters. For MP, I prefer BF because of the larger maps, destruction, and the whole feel to it.
  • Ironarm - October 24, 2011 1:51 p.m.

I didn't know Michael Bay had a new movie coming out. I'll be picking this up sometime after the New Year. Too many other games coming out to keep me busy. (I'm looking at you Skyrim)

I like the fact that in order to watch the MW3 launch trailer, I first have to watch a sponsored battlefield 3 advert.
  • JayQ - October 24, 2011 12:47 p.m.

BF3 may look better (on PC) but MW3 looks a hell of a lot more fun.
  • AwesomeMan - October 24, 2011 12:47 p.m.

Gotta be totally honest, watch this Launch Trailer...then go watch the Battlefield 3 Launch Trailer...which one you more amped for??? I'm sorry Call of Duty, but your time is over...for me at least. Make way, because Battlefield is back baby! woo! Speaking of...8 hours...6 minutes...41 seconds...
  • db1331 - October 24, 2011 1:58 p.m.

It seems like Origin is unlocking BF3 today. I've got my pre-load ready. So stop counting down and get to playing.
  • BladedFalcon - October 24, 2011 12:39 p.m.

I don't care for either game, but at least the other one looked shinier... This one looks like more of the same that MW2 brought to the table... over 2 years ago. Besides, c'mon people, do you really want to keep forking money over to Activision?
  • MadMan - October 24, 2011 12:31 p.m.

I'm not a fanboy, but I like to be honest... This looks feeble when compared to BF. ;)
  • DualWieldingIsNotFeasible - October 24, 2011 12:06 p.m.

*Sigh* I wait for the inevitable deluge of BF3 fanboy hate. Personally, I can't wait for this.
  • db1331 - October 24, 2011 12:13 p.m.

No hate here. I enjoyed the last CoD, but I will be getting BF3 this year, and I maintain that the crew behind MW3 should be embarrassed as developers for releasing this game after what DICE did with BF3.
