Limited-edition Pokemon X and Y 3DS XLs coming Sept. 27

Two new limited-edition 3DS XL systems bearing designs from Pokemon X and Y will come to North American markets on Sept. 27, Nintendo announced today. Note that these aren't bundles--they're sold separately (and two weeks earlier) from the games and each cost the standard 3DS XL price of $200.

It appears to be the same design we saw for the Japanese bundles back in July, bearing Xerneas in black stencil and Yveltal in white on top of a red or blue 3DS XL. There's a big "X" and "Y" behind them, too, if you can't tell from the picture.

At least this way you can pick whichever color you want, without worrying about getting the right version bundled with it.

What... no gold version? This sucks! That's the one I was hoping for. Not he question is... should I get this one, or wait for the MH4 one which may never come over?

Nintendo is the master at selling shit for gold.

Blech. Call me crazy but I find the overall design to be a little too busy and bordering on downright ugly. Reminds me of people who buy $600 iPhones and slap a loud $10 case over it. These are going to sell in the millions.

I totally agree. It's nice that they're making more limited edition 3DS's, but these just don't look that good. I'm also not a huge fan of how bold those colors are. I really wish they would do another run of the Pikachu 3DS XL. I wanted to buy one when they came out, but they all got snatched up before I could scrape the funds together.
