Kim Schmitz is the world's top Modern Warfare 3 player

Troubled Megaupload file-sharing kingpin is also a dab hand at Call of Duty

The most surprising twist in this Megaupload file-sharing case is that Kim Schmitz (AKA MEGARACER on Xbox Live) found time between amassing a fortune via alleged illegal activity to become the world's number one Modern Warfare 3 player.

Incredibly, being the best multiplayer killer on Modern Warfare 3 was a feat he literally set out to become as the video below shows.

Regardless of his supposed involvement in criminal activities, the guy certainly has skillz. Oh, and the expendable cash to piss away on an expensive Call of Duty cake to commemorate hitting the top spot.

It looks like his k/d is 2.07. There's loads of better players out there, he just played more. Still, well done i guess, takes some dedication.

Well I was #2 on BF:BC on PS3 for a while. So depressed when I ran into #1, who was a sniper. If we would have been on opposite teams, I would have hunted that fucker down and took those tags.

He has zero gamerscore in the game. I do not play MW3 but can you play that much multiplayer and not have any gamerscore?

Yes. The achievements are all campaign or spec ops missions/survival (i.e. co-op).

It only seems that way because you're in North America whereas he's in New Zealand. If you had been in the southern hemisphere watching the video, you'd have seen that he gets headshots 90% of the time.

Cool, now he'll be on the top spot. For a good two hours. Still, I guess it's neat. The fact that he's Kim Schmitz being number one, instead of just a random kid with too much time on his hands. Now it's a "criminal mastermind" with too much time on his hands.

Being at the top of the leaderboards only means he spent more time than others. Granted he may be good, but that doesn't mean he is the best.
