Injustice: Gods Among Us release date is April 16

Warner Bros. has announced an Injustice: Gods Among Us release date of April 16 in the US and April 19 in Europe on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U.

The publisher has also revealed details of a number of territory specific Xbox 360 and PS3 limited editions of the fighter, which is the latest game from Mortal Kombat studio NetherRealm.

The Injustice: Gods Among Us Battle Edition will retail for $149.99 at GameStop and EB Games in the US and Canada. It will feature:

  • Exclusive Injustice: Gods Among Us Fight Stick featuring official artwork from the game. The Fight Stick is a lightweight controller that boasts a non-skid foam underside, a lockout feature for the Start, Select and Guide buttons, as well as adjustable illumination for the buttons and joystick.
  • Three exclusive skins based on Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman from DC Comics – The New 52

Also in the US, the Injustice: Gods Among Us Collector’s Edition will be priced at $99.99 and be available at various retailers. It will include:

  • Exclusive DC Collectibles statue featuring iconic characters Batman and Wonder Woman, the Fortress of Solitude, and the Last Son of Krypton’s escape ship
  • Special Collector's Edition of the Injustice: Gods Among Us comic book
  • Digital download of DC Universe animated film Justice League: Doom
  • Three exclusive skins based on Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman from DC Comics – The New 52

Finally, the European Injustice: Gods Among Us Collector’s Edition will be priced at £74.99 / €99.99. Here’s what you’ll get for your money:

  • Exclusive 25cm Injustice: Gods Among Us Collectible statue featuring iconic characters Batman and Wonder Woman
  • Unique Steelbook Packaging
  • An Injustice Comic Book
  • Three exclusive skins based on Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman from DC Comics – The New 52

Today DC also released a new Injustice: Gods Among Us digital comic book which serves as a prequel to the upcoming game. It can be downloaded at ReadDCEntertainment.com, through the DC Comics app, or on the iBookstore, Kindle Store or Nook Store.

    Why does only Europe get a steel book case? Thats half the reason I buy any collectors edition.

    Ugh hope the New 52 skins will be dlc later I really want them.

    Huh, the fightstick looks pretty cool. I doubt I'll even get it new, let alone the Special edition, but its been on my radar for a little while now, so I might try and pick it up cheaper when it's out. Do we know if those are going to be the only extra skins available to teh characters in game, or whether the game features other playable skins?
