Hungarian Rhapsody: Queen Live In Budapest '86 review

Freddie Mercury doing what he did best - putting on a show

"The Houses of Parliament, is it for sale?" muses singer Freddie Mercury as his band cruise the river Danube in their downtime.

It’s a rare intimate moment in an otherwise orthodox concert film, shot in communist-ruled Budapest in 1986.

Playing anthem after anthem, Queen show off the full spectrum of their sound, from thrillingly pompous to poignant – sometimes both in the same song.

Meanwhile the cameramen just about keep up with Mercury, the irrepressible, and irreplaceable, crown prince of pantomime rock.
