Spoilers... Gotta say I loved the game, played it a lot, but in my case (and in a lot of others cases I suppose) they didn't even need to include the murder scene for me to know that Scott killed his mother. Why else would he have the same picture that she had and want to get rid of it? I'd have to agree with the fact that the psychic connection between Scott and Ethan was a bit far-fetched, but Ethan's Origami habits could have been explained elsewhere. For instance, he maybe took a course, or his wife used to do them. The guilt of his son's disappearance would make him convince himself that it was him, so he would keep finding more and more bodies. This would have also explained how Madison knew who Scott was - from her deleted office :]

So instead of establishing a psychic connection between Ethan and the killer they made Ethan black out during murders and wake up with origami for NO ACTUAL REASON! And Madison is mysterious she is under developed and only here for sexual exploitation. This games story sucks.

@crisda No my friend, you are not

I loved this game but at the same time I do see why some people had problems with it. I like these scenes because I feel like they did add a bit more background, but I see why they removed them. I hope that quantic dream makes more games and continue to raise the bar for games that hope to tell a cinematic story. Also, * indigo prophecy spoiler* I'm glad they didn't include aliens.

Still one of the most invoking games ive ever played as are all the quantic dream games! I seriusly hope with the success of Heavy Rain they can finally get Omikron 2 off the ground!

still doesn't fully explain some plot holes, like madison knowing who shelby is. so did shelby know exactly where ethan would pass out to give the origami figures to him, and why didn't he get them checked for fingerprints

Why don't devs let us play deleted scenes after we finish the games?
  • chrisda - November 9, 2010 2:57 a.m.

Am I the only one who legitimately loved this game?

(must I say SPOILER) so, the black outs explanation is a paranormal mental link between the killer and Ethan? were we suppose to figure that out? so they took it out for realism sake, ok, but should at least leave a hint of a realistic explanation then. if they just said the killer drugged the father to confuse him I would be happy. Madison on the other hand, deserved more background. nice to see more now. glad they took the painting part out, it would take even longer to get the game started. game is great, I would love to see more of it. keep the extras coming!

so originally the beginning of the game was even glad those levels were cut then
  • NJGamers - November 9, 2010 1:55 a.m.

i am glad the blackouts were not included they were too over the top and dint fit in with the realistic setting heavy rain was approaching

"Oh, and by the way... Madison was in Iraq. That's why she can't sleep. See?" This was interesting to watch, but all of it sounded really, really pretentious. "The water is a metaphorical representation of the killer's mind." Oh, give me a break. I was expecting to see a scene in which Norman meets Madison. That would explain the odd loose-end towards the end of the game in which Madison considers calling Norman even though she has never met him.

No deleted scene will ever make me understand how everyone got swindled by... (spoilers)an obese asthmatic old man. That was a twist for twist sake. I'm glad they cut the hospital murder I would've felt sick pantomiming that.
