To the best our knowledge, there are no new skulls hidden in Halo: Reach. For serious fans of the universe and mythology, however, Bungie's game may contain something even better - data pads. Sound boring? Not when you discover that each data pad unlocks a different piece of Halo: Reach's mysterious side story. And not when you realize that some of these secret collectibles are so tricky to find, only the most hardcore Halo players will ever see them all.
Data Pads 1-9 can be found on any difficulty. One per campaign mission.
Data Pads 10-19 will only show up when playing on Legendary difficulty. One per mission, plus Lone Wolf.

Mission: Winter Contingency, Rally Point Alpha
Jump directly to this point by loading the mission’s Rally Point Alpha, or wait until you find the orange jeep and Jun says “Commander, I’m seeing more hostile activity to the northeast.” Follow the road to the right. When you reach the next fork, head right and downhill, then over a small bridge. At the final fork, turn left towards the buildings. See the flashing gold building ahead of you? Ignore that and enter the building immediately to your right. The first data pad is on the floor inside.
Mission: ONI: Sword Base, Rally Point Bravo
You’ll find this second data pad near the end of the mission, in the tall, narrow, bridged section that’s used for the Sword Base multiplayer map. The data pad is on the second floor of the room, on the left side (same side that you entered on), tucked under a staircase next to a broken door. There are multiple paths and ramps you can take to get up to this area, so check out our screens and video to get an exact idea of its location.
The third data pad’s easy. As soon as the mission begins, you’re offered two paths. Most players automatically follow the winding cliff to the left, but you can also head inside a cave to the right. Enter the cave and you’ll find the data pad on the ground, next to the wall and hidden by some brush.
