Game of Thrones season 7 has an avalanche of new images, plus a behind-the-scenes look at the show’s special effects

It’s not often we get a blizzard of Game of Thrones season 7images alongside a nifty behind-the-scenes video showing off what makes the special effects tick (or, in most cases, explode with fiery abandon). Check out the pics below, including a very regal-looking Daenerys and Cersei plotting her next move.

Entertainment Weekly have, alongside HBO, revealed a flurry of shots highlighting the major players from the next season of Thrones, which premieres July 16. Let’s go through them all.

There’s Jon Snow…

Cersei and Jaime next to the Westeros map from the Game of Thrones season 7 trailer, as well as Cersei sat on the Iron Throne.

A trifecta of Dany pics, with one alongside Tyrion and Greyworm.

Ser Davos looking very serious, as always.

Beric Dondarrion – the guy who just won’t die – looking very much worse for wear.

Maisie Williams receiving some instructions while on horseback.

And, finally, Tormund, looking half-goofy, half-serious.

HBO have even whet the appetite further (if that’s even possible) by releasing a behind-the-scenes video showcasing just how far the show goes to create the magic behind the murders, mayhem, and mishaps. There’s even a shot of Dany ‘riding’ a dragon, which shows just how much special effects wizardry goes into the final product.
