GamesRadar UK Podcast 010 - Bum eyes

Welcome to tenth edition of the still-new-and-fresh-smelling GamesRadar UK Podcast! Mixed into the usual talk about games, a further discussion about cheese and a worrying admission that Justin had a nightmare about the Care Bears, you'll find your favourite regulars, like the Erection Section, the Towell Joke Factory and the Random Game Name Game. Name. Game.

But wait - this week, there's a new section too! Say hello to 'Houghton Agrees', in which our very own Dave Houghton has to pretend he likes something. Er... sorry... 'pretend he likes something he actually hates'. That's the one. You can imagine how hard that is for him. So, without further ado, click on the black banner below and get listening!

After setting a dangerous precedent last time, this week's prize consists of two games also. These are: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 on PS3 and Pirates of the Caribean: Dead Man's Chest on PSP. If you fancy winning them (and who wouldn't?), listen out for the question at the start of the podcast and leave your answer in the comments on this very page. That's what last week's winner did. And he won.

Another success, chaps! Glad I called the winner from last week, as soon as I read it I knew that had to be the one. And the segment turned out well too. As to the question of the week... I can't think of anything. Outside of threats to friends and family. Perhaps I'll return with an answer later.

I would give up video games for Half Life 3 to be released the day after, so I could act as a gaming Jesus.
  • soggysage - March 22, 2012 9:12 a.m.

I'm loving the new segment, keep up the good work!

Thanks for another excellent podcast gents. Any chance one of the writers from other Future publications being on the podcast? I remember when several TRUK Xmas specials featured writers from each of the various Future gaming publications joined the TRUK hosts; I'd like to hear Tim Weaver or Michael Gapper on the TRUK podcast! Cheers.

I'd give up videogames for a healthy sphincter. PLEASE MAKE THE PAIN STOP
  • adamforse - March 21, 2012 12:30 p.m.

Should've called the new section 'Nice Hooters'.

'Nice Hooters' is a genius name! Did I hear it wrong or did Dave go the whole minute of praising sonic without saying basically, literally or essentially? Dave! We've found the cure!!
  • ithurtstopoop - March 21, 2012 11 a.m.

If Hooters doesn't start playing nice with Justin I'm going to smack his little bottom
  • boourns - March 21, 2012 9:20 a.m.

Hello chaps, great cast as usual. Just a thought on Houghton Agrees. You could tweak the format so that Dave is given a point to discuss but he has to spend a minute arguing both sides of the argument and then Cundy and Towell have to decide which he actually agrees with in a sort of "Call My Bluff" for the video game generation.
  • ShortFuse - March 22, 2012 3:16 a.m.

I also agree that this might be a slightly better format. At least if Dave chooses the topic it has a sense of ooooooerrrrr mystery about it! Also for some reason I found the intro music to this section so unintentionally hilarious I scared a man so much he moved to the front of the bus... He has the same commute, he'll see me every day thinking I'm a psychopath. Cheers.
  • ShortFuse - March 21, 2012 4:55 a.m.

Well this'll make the commute from Stockport back to Manchester/Train back to Bristol more enjoyable! Looking forward to Dave H's section....I'm expecting plenty exasperation and forced enthusiasm!

Sweet! I panicked a wee bit when this didn't go up yesterday.
