E3 2011: Back to the Future: Why Tom Wilson won’t play Biff

Telltale Game’s episodic Back to the Future adventures press forward with Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd lending their voices to the game. Noticeably absent, however, is the voice of Tom Wilson, who played Biff, the series’ badass bully. Speaking at E3 2011, Telltale’s Dave Grossman explained why Wilson won’t be reprising his role as the big-browed bully who tormented the McFly family over multiple generations.

“We actually tried to get him to do the voice of Biff, and it was brought home to me how he felt about it when someone pointed me to a YouTube video that he has,” explained Grossman. “He does a song called “The Question,” which is about people constantly stopping him at airports asking him “What’s Michael J. Fox Like?” – and all this stuff from 25 years ago that he’s moved on from, and we respect that.”

Above:” Stop asking the question,” pleads not-Biff guy Tom Wilson in song

Titled “OUTATIME,” the next episode for Telltale’s Back to the Future: The Game series is set to release on June 23 – and finds Marty racing to fix an altered timeline due to the actions of Doc Brown in 1930’s Hill Valley. If no Biff isn’t a deal breaker for you, the first episode “It’s About Time” is still available for free on Telltale Games’ official Back to the Future website.

FYI, the other guy in the picture, the second guy from the right... that's Billy Zane. He got a bit more famous about 12 years later by playing the villain in another well-known movie

@wittynickname I believe that is the date for the PC/Mac version. Sorry!

Or was old Biff young Biff in makeup? I can't remember now.

Tyler, is that 23 June release date all-inclusive? Or is that just the PC/Mac date, with the PSN release trapped beneath the nebulous "TBA"? (crosses all available extremities in hope of a 23 June release date on PSN)

@AqueousBoy Thanks! Michael J. Fox will play two roles in the last episode. http://bit.ly/jBBIIi

That's not Michael J. Fox's voice in the BTTF game. It's an actor by the name of A.J. Locascio. It's pretty spot-on, but definitely not Fox.

Haha. He should still do the voice, though.

That song was awesome! I could understand why he didn't want to do the voice.
