Dead or Alive assassins Christie and Bayman are bringing their She Quan and Sambo skills to the fighting series' upcoming sequel. Today, Team Ninja revealed the pair's arrival in a flurry of screenshots and the following trailer that depicts a new look and style for the cold-blooded contenders.

For those not familiar with Dead or Alive's history, Christie is a sadistic killer who made her debut in Dead or Alive 3, and has since devoted her life to terrorizing the french fighter Helena Douglas. Bayman, on the other hand, is a Russian fighter who tends to keep to himself when he's not brutalizing opponents with his military training in the ring.

Both playable characters will join the roster when Dead or Alive 5 takes its stance on PS3 and Xbox 360 this September. See who else may be joining the competition in Dead or Alive 5 may get more Virtua Fighters, and our Dead or Alive 5 – first hands-on preview with playable Ayane and Hitomi.

1980's Madonna called......she wants her outside underwear back. Seriously though this looks so retardedly over the top I might give it a chance.

I'm waiting on Tina Armstrong myself. She's been my fave since the Dead or Alive 2 on the Dreamcast. I also really hope they don't turn Zack into some muscle-y crazy guy like 90% of all black characters in any game. Hopefully Hayashi isn't missing the point of the characters that much. Zack is supposed to be Dennis Rodman, not Mr. T. Dead or Alive: Dimensions, while not a bad game, still played like DoA "light" to me. I'm hoping this will be more like DoA4 than the new direction. I also hope they tone down the ninja hierarchy and woman hitting in the cutscenes. Ryu, Hayate, and Jan Lee all struck their females companions down at some point in Dimensions. It's honestly really hard to tell what is going on with Dead or Alive at this point. The series has always be pretty well balanced. Then Dead or Alive Dimensions came along and changed that. Characters became extremely slanted and the inclusion of bosses as roster members was just damning to the game's online. Not to mention the fact that countering was made completely spammable and ruined any sense of actual player skill needed to win. Dead or Alive 4 was the best in terms of balance in my opinion, but it and Dead or Alive 3 are usually the two titles in the series that are up for debate when it comes to that. From what Hayashi has said, the game should be closer to Dead or Alive 3, but I'm still holding out my doubts. If it was Itagaki behind game, then yes, I'd tell you to purchase it in a heartbeat. But this is: "I don't know what even in the ### I'm doing Hayashi" and I honestly think he just hates Team Ninja at this point. I think I'd be better off just waiting to see what happens and go from that. I know it's a fighting game, but come on, everyone knows that the fighting and cutscenes take place in two different planes of existence and yet will function hand in hand with one another.

Christie and Hitomi are my favorites. I hope she's just as fast and badass as she was in 4.

Well it's good to see they haven't totally gotten away from gratuitous cleavage.

By not changing it, it shows that they still somewhat care about the fans and the things that made the games popular among the people who play them. Hopefully they'll follow this mindset beyond surface appearances.

I don't know. Maybe it's just because I'm getting old and maybe it's because I have been watching too much Game of Thrones and playing The Witcher but it is going to be a hard sell for me to pick this up based on gratuitous cleavage alone. I hope they still have solid gameplay. I loved the shit out of 2.

I wasn't implying that people should buy it on gratuitous cleavage. Just that if the developers decided to keep that aspect of the game in tact for the fans, chances are there are other things there that the fans loved about the gameplay that would still be there. I'm asking you to pick it up in belief that goes beyond the cleavage.

So... Christie is now cosplaying as MGS3's Eva, and Bayman's cosplaying as cpt. Martin Walker from the upcoming "Spec ops: The line"? (Or, y'know, any other generic jarhead protagonist that has appeared in this generation XD) Then again, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Bayman's easily the most forgettable character in the DoA cast, with his previous beret being far more recognizable than the rest of his character model. Seriously though, where the hell is Jan Lee? I won't be really interested in this game until they announce that Jan lee is back.

Christie has always looked like that or at least wore something very similar. Even if Hayashi, who wants to move the games in a more mature direction, has given her a pointless thong to wear outside of her skin tight body suit. And as for Bayman...Yeah, you pretty much hit the nail on the head. The beret is nice, but I prefer Bayman as in his scuba gear myself. I'm certain Jan Lee is going to be in the game. They'd be crazy not to include him. Actually I think the entire fighter roster list was leaked not too long ago. You should go find it.
