Differs from other jailors in the fact that he materializes via a fluid which severly limits his movement. 3rd HELL: WRATH Netherworld jailor who governs souls send to hell for the sin of Wrath. He materializes via a sand. The massive bomb he carries often obliterates both friend and foe. 4th HELL: SLOTH Netherworld jailor send to hell for the sin of Sloth. His body is made of sand which he uses to quickly teleport to any nearby location. 5th HELL: GREED Netherworld jailer who governs souls send to hell for the sin of Green. He is another sand-based hellkeeper. He uses his beloved coffin to call upon his disciples for help. 6th HELL: GLUTTONY Nehterworld jailer who governs souls send to hell for the sin of Gluttony. He is sand-based like other hellkeepers. He fires a high powered sand mist damaging his foes. 7th HELL: LUST Netherworld jailer who governs souls send to hell for the sin of Lust. Sand-based jailer who leads confused sheep to hell with his amazing speed and deadly sickle. 7 HELLS Netherworld jailors who are referred to as hellkeepers. They exist to punish their sinner flock but have recently been called to the Human world to hunt even the innocent. ABYSS Lives at the deepest level of the netherworld. During time of war, this high ranking demon knows only victory. His magic-imbued sickle has ended many a hero's life. HELL VANGUARD The god of death who manages dead souls. He is feared by even inhabitants of the netherworld for his wicked nature and fighting prowess. A deadly sand-based demon. ENIGMA Basically created from a stone statue. Given life via some unusual high level magic incantation. This six-legged demon targets foes from afar with his magical bow. GIGAPEDE Giant creature that made its way into the Human world through a rift in the time-space fabric. Relentlessly strikes down foes with a high voltage attack. BLOOD-GOYLE Blood mixed with magically enchanted stone gave birth to this wretched beast. Multiples whenever hit by close ranged attacks, its defense mechanism is weak to modern-day weapons. ARACHNE Once the soul of a human female, the soul transformed when it reached the outer crust of the netherworld. Uses her tightly spun spider webbing to ensnare her victims. DULLAHAN The possessed husk of a knight's suit of armor. Its adamantine shell makes it virtually imprevious to frontal attack. its only weak spot being its hindquarters. SOUL EATER Spiritual remnants of the rage of murdered demons have pooled together to create this beast. This creature paralyzes its prey before feasting upon its soul. THE FALLEN A demon who fell from grace for lying and decieving its victims. Her beautiful wings close to form on invincible shield. Her open belly is her only weakness. DAMNED PAWN Netherworld-crafted chess pieces. The pieces themselves move of their own accord. The pawn, although weak in strength, is able to win battles with sheer numbers. DAMNED KNIGHT Netherworld-crafted chess pieces. The pieces themselves move of their own accord. The knight has great mobility and jumping ability, which it uses to trample enemies. DAMNED BISHOP Netherworld-crafted chess pieces. The pieces themselves move of their own accord. The bishop uses its fearsome magic power in the form of a magic arrow to snipe foes. DAMNED ROOK Netherworld-crafted chess pieces. The pieces themselves move of their own accord. The rook, in addition to having high attack power, can produce other chess pieces. DAMNED QUEEN Netherworld-crafted chess pieces. The pieces themselves move of their own accord. The queen has both great mobility and power. She is regarded as the strongest piece. DAMNED KING Netherworld-crafted chess pieces. The pieces themselves move of their own accord. The king, and rightly so, controls all other pieces. Defeat him and the others will fall. The heart itself should be considered its own entity. One that will protect itself at all costs. NEVAN One of the demon gatekeepers sealed away by Sparda. She seduces humans down the dark path to hell. Attacks foes with a combination of electricity and bats she controls. BEOWULF Gatekeeper sealed away by Sparda for 2000 years. He anxiously awaits his chance at revenge. his overwhelming strength and light attacks made him a force to fear. GERYON Once a horse of legend ridden by countless heroes, ingesting demon soul essence darkened by his once bright soul. Has the ability to control time on a limited scale. DOPPELGANGER Demon that takes the same shape of his foes. His ability is produces by refracting light in various directions. Due to this, he is essentially a demon composed of shadow. VERGIL Dante's half-man, half-demon twin brother. Wields a keepsake sword from his father but won't touch guns as he doesn't view them as weapons of a true warrior. VERGIL 2 Absorbing Beowulf's light power has given birth to a new stronger Vergil. Now in addition to Vergil's ammazing sword skill, he has mixed in some new martial art moves. VERGIL 3 After obtaining the force edge, the symbol of Sparda, Vergil is complete. The only way to compete with such an awesome foe is to believe in oneself and one's weapons. ARKHAM Transformed into a gruesome beast after obtaining Sparda's power. His form was not born of Sparda's inherited power, but rather from the darkness that lies deep in his heart. ARKHAM'S LEGIONS A swarm of demons generated from Arkham's body. These non-intelligent demons serve one purpose: to damage foes by exploding on impact with them. LADY Female devil hunter that seems to block Dante's every move. Fortunately the monsters that appear here are pretty weak, so you can use this chance to practice the basic commands. You will fight him in a boss type manner. This demon attacks with a gigantic scythe. He is fast, and often teleport to your side and slice you. Quickly attack the demon with a various mix from the sword and the guns. Try attacking from afar using the guns to start the fight. He should be defeated sooner or later. You will receive 1000 points as your reward for defeating it. At then, you gets an intermission introducing the Kick Jump. "Enigma" strikes with its magical bow. Use the Kick Jump to reach them, and strike them to the ground level. The demons from the previous missions will appear too, except the Hell Vanguard. Once they are on the ground, perform the various attack moves. You can also use the destructable blue barrels to create an explosion by striking at it, blasting at the enemies near it. Upon defeating the two Enigma you can head to the door and ignore the rest. When all of them dies, go through the door. Press O button to use the door. ------------- = Bullseye = ------------- A Shotgun can be seem sealed behind a blue seals. An intermission should occur, talking about the seals. Another intermission will occur as you gets deeper. As you see, a red orb is above the wine bar. Use the Kick Jump to reach it. Smash the triple barrels behind it for red orbs and a green orbs. The barrel in the bar holds a red orb. Then, smash the tables for red orbs again. The chairs are destructable too, for more red orbs. Lastly, smash the bottles at the back wall of the bar. Smash the record playing machines at the corner near the blue seal to reveal a hidden room. You will see a device. "A device that seems to be reacting to the sword's power." Simple, attack the device with the triangle button. Keep striking and you will see red flame appearing. Keep striking and more red flames will appear. When all of the red flames has been lighted around the circular device, the seal will be broken. Go beyond the seal and check the board for the Shotgun. Upon taking it, you will get an intermission teaching you on how to change the firearms. Get a hang with the new weapon, and then use the door. ---------------- = Love Planet = ---------------- Get around and you will receive an intermission teaching you on how to change the camera angle. As you gets deeper, a red seal, with a new type of enemies, should be obvious in showing what your next step is: defeat them! These new enemy are known as the Hell: Sloth. With the combination of the Shotgun and your various attacks from the Rebellion sword, they should be defeated easily. Make Dante spin by pressing the triangle button near the metal rod bar in the middle to inflict damage onto the demons that are nearby. The furnitures can be destructed for more red orbs. There is a door where the blood trail ends. Before using it, take the green orb above. --------------- = 13th Avenue = --------------- Head forward and you will see the tower in sight. Kick jump on the right building for the red orbs. Head forward and you will see something red briefly on the left side. Smash the metal fense to get inside and you will see a large red crystal. What is it you ask? Well, smashing it and red orbs will comes off! Keep striking it until the crystal breaks. Then, head out. Continue forward, and kick jump the right building for 2 red orbs. Touch the blue orb for the first Blue Orb Fragment. You can enter the door at the bottom to get to "Secret Mission 1". Now, head across to the left building, and kick jump to the roof. Now, keep striking the structure with those red stuffs all over. Keep striking and then you will gets to obtain the Blue Orb Fragment inside. Head forward, and check the gold structure on the right. "A statue of the omniscient god of time and space. By offering it demon blood, one can attain the power of the ancient magic clans." You can customize various stuffs here! STYLE: Change your style. Hence, you have to strike the ice-surface away, then strike at the exposed area to inflict damage. - The head of the Cerberus is the weak point. You have to use aerial attacks. You can strike at the paws to make the Cerberus to fall and lie forward on the ground. At then, you can inflict damage onto the heads using ground attacks. - Upon defeating it, you gain a weapon, the "Cerberus". Also, go collect the red orbs that the boss drop. - You can only equip 2 weapons at a time. To switch between the 1st and 2nd weapon on the fly, use the R2 button. To equip other weapons, you have to access the upgrade screen by the divinity statue or after a mission. Then, go to EQUIP, and press R1. Now, you can choose the 2 devilarms you want to use. The names of the equipped weapons are highlighted in yellow. Now, go use the door and the scene occurs which introduces Yun...I mean, Lady to Dante, then the mission ends. o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o 12.4)MISSION 4 o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o (The uninvited one: Find the key to the stars) o-----------------o | Temen-ni-grd 1F | o-----------------o --------------------- = Chamber of Echoes = --------------------- There is a skeletal angels in front, which seems to be smirking at you. Run up the area using the circular stairs. It is recommended to use the left path. You should see a crimson flames which twist and dance around the door, keeping all would-be trespassers at bay. Apparently, you are to find a way to enter that door. Eitherway, continue to run forward and reach the middle stairs. This time, take the left path, and take the red orbs along the way. Jump over the gap to advance further. If you are having difficulty jumping over, you can reach the other side by running back and use the right path. Advance and eventually you will see a blue door. Go use it. --------------- = Entranceway = --------------- Go smash the demons and proceed forward. It is recommended that you practice your new weapon (Cerberus) on these foes. Now, enter the blue door at the other end. ---------------------- = Living Statue Room = ---------------------- The several Enigma statues in the room will come to life! Previous encounter experience proves that these demons are capable of firing arrows at you from far so you should quickly get close to them and strike them. Several more demons will appear when you defeat the triple starting Enigmas. Run up and attack them until the red seal of a door is broken. As the beginning scene of this room shows, there is an item in the cage located in the middle top portion, and a structure at the opposite side. Apparently, you have to do something to this structure before you can obtain the item within the cage. If you check it, it says this: "To the being with the will of the thunderstorm, I bestow the soul of steel." Don't worry about it. Go use the red door previously barred by the red seal first. -------------------- = Silence Statuary = -------------------- You should see a circular seal-like print on the wall by the right side. If you remember, something will be triggered if you smash at it until all the flames appear. Don't go attack it first. Instead, explore the room. You will see a giant red crystal. Like before, smash it for red orbs. The statues in the middle of the ground can be smashed for red orbs. Smash all of the statues that are on the square platform. Go attack the red circular print on the wall. A square section of the ground will be activated. Jump on it to get to the higher level. o-----------------o | Temen-ni-grd 2F | o-----------------o ---------------------- = Incandescent Space = ---------------------- A red seal in front and several demons. Lets start the party! Run around, and toy with these weak demons. They shouldn't be too difficult to be defeat. Once done, the seal will be broken. Again, don't go rushing it! Notice the blue orb fragment at the top? Well, you can reach it by jumping up to it using the railings and the pipes. Touch it for the Blue Orb Fragment. Now, go through the door. --------------------- = Chamber of Echoes = --------------------- You are back in this area, but you are on the 2F now. Run forward to the other side and take the red orb, and head up. Take the left path, and run around to take the 2 red orbs. Now, using the other middle steps, ignoring the door here first. Take the remaining red orbs at the upper level. You will eventually reach a tablet. This tablet has a round indentation which lies in front of a large rotating gear. There is nothing else. Go back down, and use the yellow door. -------------------- = Endless Infernum = -------------------- Red seals. Run opposite and check the wall, and you will see the message: "Steel thy soul! The future knows no bounds for those who deftly march forth to meet it!" Run up the narrow stairs opposite the red seal door. The stairs will break, as Dante drops down to the... ------------------- = Chamber of Sins = ------------------- Several demons appear, disallowing you to rest. A new demon, the Hell: Gluttony will appear along with Hell: Wrath. Defeat them, and a blue column of faint light will appear in the middle. Touch it to teleport out. -------------------- = Endless Infernum = -------------------- The seal on the red door has been broken. Go use it. If you wishes to fight those demons again, then feel free to jump down. ----------------------- = Giantwalker Chamber = ----------------------- A red seal on the door, but no ordinary demons this time. A large, long centipede-like demon emerge! ------------------------ = BOSS FIGHT: GIGAPEDE = ------------------------ Recommended Weapon: Cerberus Recommended Style: Swordmaster Recommended Skill: Ice Age Boss Bonus: 3500 Red Orbs Movement Pattern: 1)Purple Electric Sphere (Homing) 2)Purple Electric Sphere Lower 3)Purple Electric Sphere Horizontal 4)Electricity Discharge (body), turn Strategy: - The boss will travel to and forth, hiding and emerging from the three holes. - All of its body are its weak point, so strike at anywhere of it to inflict damage. - The boss attack by emitting a laser-light beam from underneath its belly. Run away when you start to see light blue orbs forming on its belly. The boss will also fire orbs at you. This attack can be dodged by running to the side if you are fast. The other form of the laser-light beam attack is executed in the way that the beam stretchs from side to side under its belly instead of to the ground. You are safe if you stay on the ground. However, the boss can also emit a blue orb projectile, which runs across the land, leaving ice trail behind. You can dodge it by jumping when it is near. Also, you can deflect the projectiles by attacking them directly. - Fire the guns at it when it is too far in front of above. When you have the chance, jump and execute the combos in the air (from the ground). - Try to jump onto the gigapede itself and then hack while on it. After the section of the shell is hacked off, the underlayer will be revealed. Attacking the under-layer inflicts more damage, - Inflicting the attack on the head of the Gigapede is the best way to inflict the most amount of damage. Although the Gigapede will react by moving faster, but the damage is well worth it. - When you are standing on the Gigapede, it will try to shake you off by turning its body. The turning will be warned by some electric sparks that run through its body. Upon defeat, the seal on the door will be broken. Now, go obtain the red orbs that the Gigapede drops. Use the red door at the bottom ground once you are done. ---------------------- = Incandescent Space = ---------------------- Check the attention-grabbing thing on the right wall. It is an item called the Astronomical Board. A mysterious character known as a "Jester" appear... You will obtain 3500 amount of red orbs from the boss bonus. o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o 12.5)MISSION 5 o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o (Of devils and swords: Unleash your might on the demonic gatekeepers.) o-----------------o | Temen-ni-grd 2F | o-----------------o ----------------------- = Giantwalker Chamber = ----------------------- These new demons, the "Blood Goyle", are deadly, but not that tough. They will multiple when they got hit by close ranged attacks so use guns as much as possible. When they receive hits from guns, they will turn into stone. Now, use a melee weapon and finish them off! Run to the other side, and use the ledges on the left to get up. Now, use the giant red door. -------------------- = Endless Infernum = -------------------- Fall into the hole here to fight with the demons in the Chamber of Sins for more red orbs if you want. Once you decides to proceed with the game, use the yellow door. --------------------- = Chamber of Echoes = --------------------- Obtain the red orbs downwards, then travel upwards. Remember the tablet location? Well head to that. Now use the Astronomical Board on it. The wall section that blocks an item will be removed. It is located just a little above the crimson flame door. You can either descend, or jump onto the pod on the ground level to get to there. You will obtain the Vajura. Drop down to a level, and run right. Go use the blue door. --------------- = Entranceway = --------------- New demons have spawn, so exterminate them while proceeding to the next door. Then, go use the next door. ---------------------- = Living Statue Room = ---------------------- Run up to the upper level by the stairs towards the red door, then run around by the narrow path on the side. Now, use the Vajura onto the structure opposite of the cage. Go take the Soul of Steel when the cage is gone. After that, the doors will be sealed, as the various demons will appear! Proceed to slay those demons until the seal is broken. Now, go use the blue door to return to the Chamber of Echoes. --------------- = Entranceway = --------------- Continue slaying these demons, while going to use the door at the bottom of the stairs. --------------------- = Chamber of Echoes = --------------------- Now, jump to the pod at the ground level. Get to the highest level, and run around until you are at the yellow door. Use it. -------------------- = Endless Infernum = -------------------- With the Soul of Steel, invisible platform will be formed on where the stairs crumpled earlier on! You can walk on the 'air' now, but you will not be able to fall into the Chamber of Sins to slay the demons for red orbs anymore. Eitherway cross to the other side. You will see a structure with four lights. Try striking it, and you will get the following message: "I am the combat adjudicator. Only a technique icy-cool to the core can move me" This combat adjudicator can be found throughout the game. You have to smash it into pieces using specific weapons (clue by the description) and obtain a specific rank. The more flames there is on the adjudicator, the higher rank you have to smash it. Smashing it earns you the Blue Orb Fragment. Use the Cerberus to break it. Refer to the "Secret Matter" section of the FAQ for more. You can't do anything. Now, check the back wall and you will see that you can use the Soul of Steel on it. A door will be revealed so use it. --------------------- = Surge of Fortunas = --------------------- Run down and around. You will see a giant elevator-like platform. Touch the red structure at the back wall to access Secret Mission 2. Go smack the circular seal on the wall until the flames light up. Now go board the elevator. Now, demons will drop onto the elevator to fight you! Slay them down, but down fall down to the ground level yourself or you will have to re-attack the seal to light the red flames for the elevator. Using Shotgun is an effective way to knock them off. When a batch drops down, fire a shot to knock one down, then jump to avoid the damage while blast them from the air. When you land, continue pummeling them using the Shotgun to blast them away. Eventually you will reach the top. o----------------------o | Central Temen-ni-gru | o----------------------o ---------------- = Azure Garden = ---------------- Head through the opening to the balcony area. Proceed right. A red door will comes into view. Go near it, but don't go through it yet. Smash the stuffs nearby for red orbs. Then, check the statue of the omniscient god to customize. Go customize if you can afford. A boss fight is coming soon. Use the next door. --------------------- = Firestorm Chamber = --------------------- The two statues, Agni and Rudra, started to rattle off about how to entertain their guest "Dante", to the point that until even Dante sighs and all pissed. Sometime, the attacks will knock the sword out from the demon's hand At then, it is defenseless so keep hitting the defenseless demon, and try to use the Revolver Lv 2 at this moment. - To inflict damage, you have to wait for opening. Strike them when you have the chance, and keep going for more hits! Focus on one, and quickly jump when the other runs toward you. - Using the Cerberus onto the Agni is a plus too, as Agni is weak against it 1. R1 + Forward + Triangle = this will let you have constant attack 2. R1 + Backward + Triange = this only works if you have Windmill Do this as they attack and it will knock the sword out of their hands, then your are free to attack. - At some interval, the 2 demons will take position at a side of the room and dash attack you. The demons can resist your attack and continue to execute the attack of its own, so you might want to evade them rather than striking them while they charge and hope that the damage will stun them. - When one is near death, focus your attack on the other one with the higher vitality. It is because they will merge when one dies, and then you will have to fight the merged demon with the leftover vitality of the one who was still surviving. - When one dies, go berserk on the other. Eventually an event will occur a moment later, where he will jump onto the ledge, and summon the sword from the dead gatekeeper. The one will now handles dual weapons, and is much more powerful than before. - As soon as they merged, run out of the way to dodge the initial attack. - He will now throw triple flaming blades at you several times in a row when he uses 2 blades at a time. - Keep striking and don't allow it to have a chance to breath. When the demon warms up for an attack, run far away and pummel it with guns. Upon defeating it, Dante receives a new weapon, the "Agni & Rudra". Take the red orbs from the fallen gatekeepers, then check the back wall to end the mission. You will receive 4000 worth of red orbs for defeating the boss. o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o 12.6)MISSION 6 o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o (Family ties: Clear the trial and forge a new path.) o----------------------o | Central Temen-ni-gru | o----------------------o ------------------------- = Mute Goddess' Chamber = ------------------------- Run forward to the central area. You will see that 'the goddess statue's piercing stare is focused on the front door". However, that door can't be used. Practice around with the new weapon. Then use the other door. ----------------------- = Chamber of 3 Trials = ----------------------- Use the divinity statue if you want. Head forward and you will see several different colored pedestals. Checking one say this: "Passing one trial still shows lacking. Passing two trials expands horizons. Passing all trials unlocks one's true potential." Go examine the other pedestals for these messages: Purple "Your wisdom will be put to the test in the chamber ahead. Use your lifetime experience: from the crawling infant: to the man standing tall: and finally to the old man-leaning on his cane." Orange "Your techniques will be put to the test in the chamber ahead. Overcome the onslaught of obstacles to guarantee your future." Green "Your warrior's heart will be put to the test in the chamber ahead. Light all of the crests to suppress the evil spirit's rage." Each of these 3 pedestals lead to 3 paths. Apparently you have to go into all of them to pass the trials...For convenient sake, this FAQ document will be leading you to take the paths from left to right. ------------------- = Trial of Wisdom = ------------------- As stated by the pedestal of this trial, you should use your lifetime experience. It is sort of a puzzle, and if you solve it, you will not need to combat any demons to get the item. To quote what it says on the Purple pedestal again... "Your wisdom will be put to the test in the chamber ahead. Use your lifetime experience: from the crawling infant: to the man standing tall: and finally to the old man-leaning on his cane." The puzzle lies in following the path from an infant, to a man, then to the old man (reference to a puzzle in Resident Evil?) The answer is that an "Infant crawls on 4, a man walks on 2 feets, and an old man walks on 3 (2 feets & a cane)". So the number sequence will be "4, 2, 3". Note the doorways with the different amount of red lights? Go through them in that order (eg 4 red light doorway first, 2 red light doorway next etc). To put it simple, take the right doorway, left, then central. Go around and you will arrive at the central area which holds the Essence of Intelligence. Upon taking the item, go through any doorway to return to the Chamber of 3 Trials. ----------------------- = Chamber of 3 Trials = ----------------------- This time, take the path behind the orange pedestal. ------------------ = Trial of Skill = ------------------ This trial is pretty simple. You have to get to the other side for the item of proof. However, the test are the rows of spikes that will protrude from the walls, ceiling and the ground. They will advance towards you, and they comes in batches. If they protrudes from the right wall, simply run to the left to dodge it. If they protrudes from the left wall, run to the right to hide from them. Ground sharp objects are to be dodged by jumping over them. Those that protrudes from the ceiling can be dodging simply by running under it (no other actions required). You have to do all these while running forward. Reminds you of the jet-ski ending mini-game of "Resident Evil 4", no? The award is the Essence of Technique. When you returns back, the path is littered with several new demons. Battle your way past them and return to the Chamber of 3 Trials. ----------------------- = Chamber of 3 Trials = ----------------------- After claiming the 2 Essences proofs, take the last path now. ------------------------ = Trial of The Warrior = ------------------------ Now, defeat all of the demons here. It sounds like what you have been doing all along, but this one is not ordinary feat. They are a little harder, so you should quickly eliminate them. Note that you can use the sharp needles here to spin Dante. Simply press the triangle button when near it. The reason these demons are harder than usual is because of the purple mist aura on their body. You can remove the mist barrier to defeat them easier by attacking and lighting the two circular structures at the sides of the room. You have to make both light up to remove the barriers. This is a temporarily solution as the lights on the structure will disappear after about a minute. When that happens, the barrier will return, but you just have to light them up to remove the barriers again. Upon defeating them, claim your prize, which is the Essence of Fighting. Now exit to the Chamber of 3 Trials. ----------------------- = Chamber of 3 Trials = ----------------------- Now, head through the brown door to backtrack to the Mute Goddess' Chamber. ------------------------- = Mute Goddess' Chamber = ------------------------- Run up to the front of the statue in the middle, and now use the O button to use the items. When you use 2 of the items, the Mute Goddess statue will blast at the debris which covers the door in front. Now, insert the last item, and the statue will reveal the Artemis. Now, get the hang of this weapon. You will get to use the Multi-lock if you are using the Gunslinger style with this new weapon. However, this gun has slow recovery time after firing a shot. Now, go use the blue door. --------------------- = The Dark Corridor = --------------------- Use the Kick Jump to reach the 2 red orbs above this statue on the right. If you strike this statue, you will get the following message: "I am the combat adjudicator. Only a technique of gales and flames can move me." Defeat it with the Agni & Rudra. Head up the stairs instead since you can't do anything else. A scene between Arkham and Lady will be triggered. At then, the mission ends. o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o 12.7)MISSION 7 o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o (A chance meeting: Duel of the demon children) o----------------------o | Central Temen-ni-gru | o----------------------o --------------------- = The Dark Corridor = --------------------- Now, run backward. You should see a brown door. However, you can also access the Secret Mission 3 here. Facing the white light on the wall here, Kick Jump and forward into the secret hole. Touch the red structure here to start the Secret Mission 3. If you are done, go through the brown door. o--------------------o | Upper Temen-ni-gru | o--------------------o ---------------------- = Heavenrise Chamber = ---------------------- Now, drop down to the ground level. Enter the door here. o-----------------o | Temen-ni-grd 2F | o-----------------o ---------------------- = The Divine Library = ---------------------- Run forward, and a blue seal will appear behind. Attack the various Damned Pawns in the library here. The Orthalcon Fragment will be revealed underneath on one of those demons. Taking it will unseal the blue seal. You do not need to kill all of them. Exit. ---------------------- = Heavenrise Chamber = ---------------------- Now, jump onto the red pod to spring Dante up, taking the red orbs along the way. Then, land on the side passage, run around, and jump onto the next red pod. Keep doing so and advance upward. In one of the level, you will receive the "Holy Water" item. The level above will contain a green door. Enter it. -------------------- = Pitch-Black Void = -------------------- Run forward to the broken platform section. Leap onto the pillar on the lower side to obtain the hidden red orbs. Run back inside. Run up, then right. Obtain the red orb and then enter the blue door here. --------------- = Skull Spire = --------------- Destroy the 2 statues by the side of the blue door for red orbs. Run forward, and you will see that the chess pieces will move when you gets near them! They are easy to defeat, so it serves as a good chance to test out the new weapon. Charge up the Artemis with the O button (Gunslinger) then fire at these demons known as the "Damned Pawn". Advance forward, then run left. Obtain the Vital Star S by jumping over the fence. If you return to the split path, you will see that the door is locked. "A stone pillar embroidered with skulls. A similar pillar lies to the right. Something appears to be missing from it..." That's what it says if you check it. Return to where you obtain the Vital Star S and go through the door near it. ----------------------- = Tranquil Souls Room = ----------------------- Run forward, then right. Smash the coffins that are lying against the wall for red orbs. As you approaches the goddess statue, several new demons will be spawn out to stop you. These demons are the "Hell: Greed", a hellkeeper who uses the coffin to summon his disciples for help. You can combat them with the help of the central pole-like needles. Spin Dante with it when the demons crowd around him. Attack them until they dies, and an object will drop from the goddess statue. Go take the item from the goddess. It is the "Siren's Shrek" item. Go through the new brown door. ------------- = Lift Room = ------------- Run forward. You will see another combat adjudicator here. "I am the combat adjudicator. Only a technique imbued with magic essence can move me." Use the Rebellion sword for it. Run up the first flight of stairs. If you run left, you will see a creepy statue on the balcony. "Another angelic statue stands motionless before you. I don't know what meaning it could hold..." The structure in the middle is the elevator control panel. There's no enough power to operate it. Now use the Orihalicon Fragment on it. The elevator's power will be restored. Get to the bottom, and head down the stairs on the right. Go use the elevator. o-----------------o | Temen-ni-grd 1F | o-----------------o --------------------- = Chamber of Echoes = --------------------- Run out of the elevator, and get to the opened area. Now, approach the crimson flame door. Use the Siren's Shriek on it. Go attack the ball and the shells will slowly break off. Your objective is to attack the ball until the shells are totally broken off. Hit the ball once on the sides, and you will see a purple flare appearing from within the revealed section of the shells. If the ball rises up, then you have to restart to attacking the ball again. Take the Crystal Skull from the ground after that. After taking that, red seal will form on the exit door, and demons, including the Hell: Greed, will appear. Simply defeat all of these demons, and the red seal will be removed. When they dies, a massive Hell: Pride will appear to confront you. He can teleport and attack with his scythe, so beware. When he dies, the seal will be broken. Do it repeatedly and he should be defeated. - When Vergil is stunned backward, continue the assault. Witness the awakening of the devil within Dante... The "Rebellion" sword has been awaken. Now, Dante can also use the Devil Trigger move. o----------------------o | Leviathan Inner Care | o----------------------o ----------------------- = Leviathan's Stomach = ----------------------- Jump up the ledge on the right. Attack the eyeball and a tusk will be removed. It says that there are 4 more tusks remain. Run across, and attack the other eyeball at the end. Jump forward to the wretched ship for a Blue Orb Fragment. Each time you removes a tusk, you will get this message: "The seal has been released opening up a single stone tusk." Jump down to the ground. Now, don't step foot over those yellow liquid. They are actually acidic, and will drain Dante's vitality if he stays on it. Look for a bus ledge here. The 3rd eyeball is hidden at the bottom of the other side of the ledge. After killing it, you can proceed beyond the path, attack to remove the barrier and touch the blue structure to get to Secret Mission 4. Jump back over the ledge, and enter the narrow path. You should see a stream of acid pouring from the ceiling. Run around and attack the other eyeball. Now, run to the right wall, and jump up the green ledge section. Use it as a support to continue upward. From here, again, kick-jump to get to the upper level. cross the bridge, and then attack the red crystal on the left for red orbs. On the right is the last eyeball. After killing it, jump down for the red orbs. On the bus ledge, there will be a hole. Go through it. -------------------------- = Leviathan's Intestines = -------------------------- Run to the other end. There will be a divinity statue on the right. Once you are done upgrading, smash the goo that covers the doorway hole to go through. There will be several such structures in the near few rooms. ------------------------- = Leviathan's Heartcore = ------------------------- As you see, the Leviathan have 3 hearts. The panel with the yellow light gives you a clue about them. "An organ writhes ferociously on the other side of the membranous wall. You can't get any closer now." Head right to the other hole. Go through. -------------------------- = Leviathan's Intestines = -------------------------- As you run down, a large demon will appear and run after you..."Crash Bandicoot" style! He can glide faster, so if he is at just a feet away, lock on and fire your trusty Ebony & Ivory. Continue moving down and fire at it. When you run through a door hole, the demon will be stuck behind. ignore it and go blast down the goo on the left wall, and go through. -------------------------- = Leviathan's Intestines = -------------------------- You will encounter a new type of demon here. These demons are the Hell: Envy. They are pretty weak, so you shouldn't have difficulty killing them. Continue down this misty and long path to the other end. Destroy the goo barrier on the door hole and go in. ---------------------- = Leviathan's Retina = ---------------------- As you see, the middle thing is absorbing the red orbs. As a result, the red orbs released by the demons that you defeat here will goes to there. Defeat all of the Hell: Envies, and eventually the core will open, revealing a shiny item. Take the "Ignis Fatuus". Upon taking it, the stomach of the Leviathan will be darken. Run out by the hole here to return to the previous area. -------------------------- = Leviathan's Intestines = -------------------------- Navigation shouldn't be a problem here. Run along the left wall. There are 2 forks. The first leads you to a Green Orb. The other leads you to a combat adjudicator. "I am the combat adjudicator. Only a technique icy-cool to the core can move me". Its Cerberus' time. After taking the Blue Orb Fragment from this adjudicator, return out and use the path to the other side. -------------------------- = Leviathan's Intestines = -------------------------- Run down the intestines. Once again, the demon will chase after you. Using the same tactic, make your way to the other end. Go hack down the goo, then run through the hole. ----------------------- = Leviathan's Stomach = ----------------------- Jump down to the bottom ground, and run up. Jump onto the bus ledge, and head right to re-enter the intestines by the hole here. As you see, it is very dark here, so proceed with care so as not to step on those acidic pools on the ground. There are 3 sections of target. - Your real target is just the middle heart. However, it is protected by a shell. - Go attack the hearts on either side, while avoiding the henchmen "Hell: Envies" around. - When the vitality of the side heart is depleted, the core of the middle heart will then attack. After the middle heart attacks, the shell will open, revealing a green structure, allowing you to hit it. Hit it to deplete the vitality of the middle heart. It will only open temporarily. Once it close, the vitality of the side heart is recovered. You have to do repeatedly do this to attack the middle heart until the middle heart's vitality is drained totally. - The best attacks for the side targets are the Aerial Rave + Air Hike. - You can use the pole in the middle in front of the middle heart core to spin Dante to attack the Hell: Envies. - The middle heart attacks by either a laser attack or an orb projectiles. The orb projectiles can be dodge simply by running around. As for the laser attack, you just have to stand in the center facing the middle heart, as the lasers from the 2 sides will sweep across the room. Jump at the instance when both lasers sweep past beneath you to dodge them. 5000 worth of red orbs are your end mission reward for defeating this boss. o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o 12.9)MISSION 9 o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o (Faded memories: Christen the sorceress of the abyss with a blade) o-------------------o | Forbidden Land 1F | o-------------------o ----------------------- = The Rotating Bridge = ----------------------- If you examine the panel nearby, you will see that it is a control device for the bridge. Run across the bridge to the other end. ------------------------ = Provisions Storeroom = ------------------------ A new type of demons will appear. They are the Arachne enemy. Defeat them. They have an attack which they fires a webbing at you. Struggle to free the webbing. White mini-spiders might be released from some defeated Arachne. Blast them with the Ebony & Ivory for red orbs. After defeating them, go through the door with 3 colors on it. ----------------------- = Subterranean Garden = ----------------------- Run forward and jump. A divinity statue is on the left side. Run forward, and check the stone tablet for the following message: "Radiate the image sunken in the depths below to open a new path." See those crystals reflecting the light beam? You have to destroy the correct crystals so that the light beam travels to the statue below. If you were to accidentally destroyed the wrong crystal, you can reset the puzzle by attacking the circular flame panel in the back wall (attack it until the flames light up). Here is a diagram showing the positions of the crystals. Run to the next square, and defeat the next Enigma. Now, run to the last square and defeat the remaining Enigmas. On the last square, you should see a door. Go through it. ------------------- = Rounded Pathway = ------------------- Run forward, and kill the demons. Be careful not to touch the spinning blades on the pillars or you will sustain damage. Use the blue door opposite. --------------------- = Subterranean Lake = --------------------- Run right to find the orbs. Now, run left. Examine the statue with a glowing item on it. "The words restore the mask's sacred energy and the power to part oceans will be yours, are written." Continue to run down the passage. You will see a waterfall covering a secret passage. Ignore it and run past. A combat adjudicator is in front. "I am the combat adjudicator. Only a technique charged from the heavens can move me." Nevan is the weapon to break it. Using the broken sections of the stone pillars, reach the red orb above. From here, jump onto the platform. Run right to obtain the "Spiral". Go through the door near the divinity statue. ------------------- = Rounded Pathway = ------------------- Run forward, be careful not to touch those spinning blades pillar. Exterminate those demons and proceed to the opposite door. ------------------------ = Provisions Storeroom = ------------------------ Run to the altar at the opposite side to obtain the Ambrosia. Arachnes will appear. Kill them to unlock the seal, and head out. ------------------- = Rounded Pathway = ------------------- Return to the previous area, killing the demons in the way. --------------------- = Subterranean Lake = --------------------- Go through the hole beyond the waterfall. -------------------- = Limestone Cavern = -------------------- Go beyond, and exterminate the demons. Go down the left path (taking the red orbs along), and take the Devil Star item. Now, Kick Jump up the slope to get back up. Run right and battle the demons. Kick Jump up the right wall to find a hidden passage hole. Jump into the passage hole, and run. Touch the red structure to access Secret Mission 5. You can also access here if you run opposite of the waterfall entrance and jump up the passage hole. Both leads to each other. Jump up the ledge, and run down the passage to the other end to check the relief at the wall. "A relief of a nude female is carved on the door." Use the Ambrosia. The overall damage from this attack depends on how many blade hit that Dante sustain from the spin. - Nevan can summon bats with electricity current in your direction, and they comes in batches. Sometime, she will summon triple bats with electricity beam projecting towards the ground, and they will charge towards you. They can be dodged by running to the side. Also, she can summon two bats to fly side by side, with an electricity beam forming between them. Jump over them like a skipping rope to dodge this attack. - Attack the Nevan when the bats are cleared. After several damages has been inflicted, jump up or you will be sunked and stick to the ground by the black shadow image. The Nevan might even attempt to kiss Dante to inflict damage! Once you defeat her, she will turn herself into a weapon to serve you. Obtain the red orbs which will be released upon her defeat. A bridge will rise to link the land to the giant statue in the middle of the water path. Cross the bridge to the statue. Jump up the ledge, and take the Neo Generator by the feet of the statue. With this item, you should be able to power up the main console at the beginning room of this building. Run back, turn right and use the blue door. ------------------- = Rounded Pathway = ------------------- As you heads deeper, a gate will be lowered, and a new type of enemy will appear to combat you. These demon are the "Dullahan". Attack the hindquarters, which is its only weak spot to kill it. Kill them to rise the gate, then continue past to use the door at the other end. Of cause, keep away from the spinning blades pillar on both sides. ------------------------ = Subground Water Vein = ------------------------ Run to the other end of the passage. Several Enigmas will try to stop you, but they are not much of a threat. Use the door. ----------------------- = Subterranean Garden = ----------------------- Run down, and use the colored door in the middle. ------------------------ = Provisions Storeroom = ------------------------ Run to the red door. At then, both that door and the door you used will be lock by a red seal. That means you have to clear the demons in this room! Kill these spider demons, then use the red door again. ----------------------- = The Rotating Bridge = ----------------------- Run across the bridge. Dante will kick the Neo Generator to activate the switch. With the bridge rotated, cross the bridge and enter the yellow door. --------------------- = Marble Throughway = --------------------- Run down the throughway. A scene will be triggered, followed by the end of this mission. o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o 12.11)MISSION 11 o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o (Revenge: Give a guest from the past an adequate homecoming.) o-------------------o | Forbidden Land 1F | o-------------------o -------------------- = Gears of Madness = -------------------- Run around, and kill the Enigma. The second Enigma is by the back wall. Kill it and obtain the red orbs along the wall. Drop down to the ground level, and nagivate to the yellow door by the end. ------------------------- = Altar of Evil Pathway = ------------------------- Run forward, and a demon will appear. This new demon is known as the "Soul Eater". Kill all of them to clear the seal. Run down the pathway to use the brown door. ----------------- = Altar of Evil = ----------------- Run opposite. You will see a statue. "3 freakish looking faces are etched into the statue. The center face has tears of blood streaming down its face." Go to the left wall. Take the red orb, then jump onto the sword to reach the balcony. Run left down the balcony. You will come across a giant block. Run past it and continue down. You will see a section of a wall by a corner, with some light coming from the crack. Attack the crack. You will see another block. Now, attack this block out from behind using melee attack. Keep attacking to move it until it is fitted in place of the hole under a red light. Do the same for the other block. Once the two blocks are fitted into the hole, the faces will be crying tears of blood. Then, a passage will be revealed, but the door beyond the secret passage will be sealed by a red seal. This is obvious. Defeat the spawned demon here! You will fight a Hell Vanguard first, then the Soul Eaters. Now go through the door beyond the hidden passage by the side way. Use the door. -------------------- = Temperance Wagon = -------------------- Run down the stairs. Beneath the stairs is a combat adjudicator. "I am the combat adjudicator. Only a technique of gales and flames can move me." Smashing it with the Agni & Rudra and you will get the Blue Orb Fragment. There is also a statue near the feet of the stairs. Attack it from behind to drop down for Holy Water and a Green Orb. Go board the wagon by jumping onto it. During the journey, wagons of demons will appear to ambush you. Attack them, along with the demons that spawn out of the air. These demons are low level lesser demons, so you should not have much problem. Climb up the stairs of the other platform, and head to the divinity statue on the side to upgrade. Run around to dodge it. - Beowulf can also run around to attack you, so you should try to attack from the air if possible. - Beowulf's triple punch is an air+ground attack move. Use the R1 to lock on to the nearest target if you didn't see any more demon. ------------------------- = Altar of Evil Pathway = ------------------------- Ignore these demons, and sprint to the other door. -------------------- = Gears of Madness = -------------------- Again, ignore the demons and jump onto the various gears to reach the upper level, then dash for the door. --------------------- = Marble Throughway = --------------------- Quickly slay the Hell Vanguard and the Hell: Prides to remove the red seal. The first is on the bridge, when the boss will run back and forth across the bridge. When he runs to the other end, he will disappear and appear on either one end of the bridge. You have to try to jump and atack it. - At then, the bridge will fall. - The Geryon will gallop around, firing projectiles at you. They are easy to dodge but the tricky part is to dodge the black orb which Geryon will fire at you. If you comes into contact with them, you will be slowed down, allowing the Geryon to ram you or the projectiles to hit you. Dodge the projectiles, firing your guns at it when far. - The Geryon will stop once in a while. Use this chance to run at it, then attack the Geryon. It should fall easily. However, when it stop, you will have to avoid the blue shockwave when you run at it. You will get the Quicksilver style when it is defeated. Go claim the red orbs that the boss will drop. Vergil's basic attack is a chain of sword slashing, ending with an aerial diagonal feet kick to the ground. - He will also turns into Devil Trigger mode, in which he will be able to move forward and resist your attack while he uses his attack. - He will also retain his old attacks which he uses in the previous fight. - Personally, I prefer to use the Tricksters' Dash to dodge the last hit of the combo. Attack him using the moment he touches the ground, following up with big combos. - While you attack, if Vergil counters with his sword, in which a flash of lightning will appear while both men will be stunned back, immediately jump to dodge the follow-up attack of Vergil. - When Vergil is in Devil Trigger mode, attacking him makes it faster to cancel the transformation, but in return you are exposing to the attacks. Jester's real identity will be revealed, and 7000 worth of red orbs are your end boss reward. o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o 12.14)MISSION 14 o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o (Drive!: Charge upward to the sky) o-------------------o | Forbidden Land 3F | o-------------------o --------------------------- = Lair of Judgement Ruins = --------------------------- A Divinity Statue can be found against the back wall behind the broken wall sections. Run upward to obtain the Beowulf weapon. From the location where you take the Beowulf, run down a little, then turn right to find the Combat Adjudicator. "I am the combat adjudicator. Only a technique blessed with a sacred light can move me." Destroy it with the Hyper Fist of the newly acquired Beowulf. Take the Blue Orb Fragment. Use the door behind it. ----------------------- = Underwater Elevator = ----------------------- Run down and board the elevator. o-------------------o | Forbidden Land 1F | o-------------------o ------------------ = Subterran Lake = ------------------ Go out to the hole opposite, taking the red orb along the way. --------------------- = Top Obsidian Path = --------------------- There's nothing else except a door here. Run to the end of the path past the door, and jump for red orbs. ------------- = Vertibule = ------------- Run forward then right. There should be a doorway which you can use. Go through. If you failed to attempt Secret Mission 9 when in the previous mission, you can attempt it here. There should be a pair of blue flames stands on both side of the wall. Kick-Jump above the left the blue flame stand on the left to find a crack on the wall. The crack leads you to Secret Mission 9. After doing this mission, head forward to the dark doorway. ----------------- = Altar of Evil = ----------------- Defeat the Blood-Goyles here. Then, obtain the 2 red orbs near the statue with the extended sword. Now, head to the doorway opposite of the extended sword statue. -------------------- = Temperance Wagon = -------------------- Go board the wagon, and defeat the demons along the way. Upon reaching the other side of the platform, run up and enter the door. ------------------ = Hell's Highway = ------------------ Run forward beyond the gate, which will rise as you gets near it. Continue forward instead of right. A new type of chess-type demon will materialize. When you see it tilt its head downward and its eyes turn red, run out of the way. This new demon also attack by trampling onto you. Several more will spawn, along with the Damned Pawns. One of the doorway will have a shiny item. Go take it. It is the Vital Star S. Defeat the demons, and return. Head through the red doorway. Defeat this batch of these chess demons, then head to the circle with the white light. Defeat the final batch of the chess demons, and go through the last doorway to take the blue item (Blue Orb Fragment). Go beyond and use the brown door. -------------------- = Subterran Garden = -------------------- There is a divinity statue on the upper wall. The wall facing the statue has a door, which leads to the Subground Water Vein. ------------------------ = Subground Water Vein = ------------------------ As before, head forward. Halfway through the area here, you should see a blue column of light here. Go touch it. o------------------o | Residential Area | o------------------o --------------- = Love Planet = --------------- Go use the door with the blood trail. -------------------------- = 13th Avenue: Aftermath = -------------------------- Run up, and take the red orbs on the left. Run forward for a scene to end the mission. o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o 12.15)MISSION 15 o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o (The gatecrasher: Control the tower, control your destiny.) o-----------------o | Temen-ni-gru 2F | o-----------------o -------------------------- = Upper Subterran Garden = -------------------------- Go near the door and a red seal will be formed. Turning around, a new type of demon has appeared! Don't be tricked. This type of demon is quite powerful. The "Fallen" have quite a thick feathered wings to protect itself. The weak point of the two Fallens are the exposed chest beneath the wings. They attack using a spear which they can materialize out from their hand. They will try to stab you, or throw it at you from the air. Fallen can travel through walls, so be careful not to get ambushed by them. After defeating them, go use the door. ------------------------ = Provisions Storeroom = ------------------------ Defeat these Arachnes. After that, head through the other door. -------------------- = Devilsprout Lift = -------------------- Head forward. You will see a blue light structure. "Looks like an elevator control switch. But something's missing...There are 3 indentations to insert objects into." Apparently you will have to find three items and return here later. For now, head forward. Go use the yellow door at the end. ------------------------- = Forbidden Land: Front = ------------------------- Use Kick Jump on the side wall to reach the area above the yellow door here. You will see a red crystal. Attack it for red orbs. Run to the opposite wall, and kick jump underneath the red eye and you will receive hidden red orbs. Go attack the circular flame structure by the corner. After that, return to the previous area. -------------------- = Devilsprout Lift = -------------------- Continue backtracking to the previous room. ------------------------ = Provisions Storeroom = ------------------------ You can now hit circular flame portal that is between the two doors here. Now go use the colored door. -------------------- = Gears of Madness = -------------------- Attack the Blood-Goyles here. Obtain the red orbs by the wall against the back wall. Now drop down, and attack the circular flame portal here. You can also find a Devil Star on the right path at the ground level. Head for the right door on the ground level (near Devil Star). Get to the ground level, and head for the right door. ------------------------- = Altar of Evil Pathway = ------------------------- From the entrance, jump onto the pipe on the wall. Get higher for a Blue Orb Fragment. Make your way to the other end for the Orihalcon Fragment. Now return. -------------------- = Gears of Madness = -------------------- Go smack the circular flame portal. Go head up and use the colored door. ------------------- = Rounded Pathway = ------------------- Go forward, jumping over those fallen spinning blade pillars. Some demons have spawned here, but they shouldn't be what you should be concern with. At the end attack the circular flame portal and use the door. ------------------------ = Provisions Storeroom = ------------------------ Obtain the Orihalcon Fragment from the altar. Several Arachnes will try to attack you here. The fight with them is optional. Regardless, return to the previous road after you are done. ------------------- = Rounded Pathway = ------------------- Run to the opposite door. ---------------------- = Top Subterria Lock = ---------------------- Go use the divinity statue if you want. Run down, and left for a red orb. The wall has a circular flame portal. Smash it. Jump over the right wall for red orbs, then using the broken wall section as a support, jump to the top for more red orbs. Go through the right door. ------------------- = Rounded Pathway = ------------------- Get over to the other end for the final piece of the Orihalcon Fragment. Now head out. ---------------------- = Top Subterria Lock = ---------------------- Get over to the other end to use the colored door. You should be in the Provisions Storeroom. If not, return here and ------------------------ = Provisions Storeroom = ------------------------ Run forward to use the door. -------------------- = Devilsprout Lift = -------------------- Use all three of the Orihalcon Fragments onto the elevator control switch here. Head for the door beyond the statue. --------------- = Entranceway = --------------- Defeat these easy demons and advance to the other door. ---------------------- = Living Statue Room = ---------------------- Defeat the demons, and then advance for the red door on top. ---------------------- = Waking Sun Chamber = ---------------------- Head forward and left. Check the glass panel on the pillar for the message: "He who pursues the eternal power of the golden Sun, release me from the darkness." Go attack the circular flame portal. Again, smash the gigantic ball here. If it returns to the ceiling, go attack the circular flame structure to lower it again. Go obtain the Golden Sun item. Then, the door will be sealed and demons will materialize to attack you! Now, you will face a new type of demon, the Damned Rook. They attacks mainly by projecting 3 laser sights horizontally in 3 direction. They can creates other chess pieces to appear too. The door at the right side of the altar where you get the Golden Sun item leads you to Secret Mission 10. Once you are done, head back out. ---------------------- = Living Statue Room = ---------------------- Backtrack to the Entranceway. --------------- = Entranceway = --------------- Few demons will appear to attack you. Your only objective is to head for the door at the other side. Fighting them is optional. ---------------------- = Sun & Moon Chamber = ---------------------- Go to the wall opposite of the elevator. Use the Golden Sun. You still need the "Moon". Now head for the red door on the left. --------------- = Entranceway = --------------- Again, aim for the door at the top of the stairs. ------------------------ = Cursed Skull Chamber = ------------------------ The door will be sealed. As usual, defeat the demons here to unseal the door. Remember to take the Devil Star at the back wall. Now return back. --------------- = Entranceway = --------------- Head down pass the door instead of going through it. Defeat the demons along the way and run for the bottom of the stairs. Walk through the crack hole on the wall. ------------------- = Chamber of Sins = ------------------- Check the glass section for the following: "He who pursues the Onyx Moonshard, make whole the spheres." Go hit the left circular flame portal, then the right one. When both balls are lowered, hit the left ball towards the right, and the right ball towards the left. Make them knock against each other to solve this puzzle. Go obtain the Onyx Moonshard. Now defeat the two "The Fallens" to unseal the hole. Head out. --------------- = Entranceway = --------------- Several demons will be spawned here. Fighting them is optional, but you should head for the red door at the middle of this staircase. ---------------------- = Sun & Moon Chamber = ---------------------- Now, use the Onyx Moonshard. Go use the door. -------------------------- = Ice Guardian's Chamber = -------------------------- You will encounter Blood-Gayles and Enigmas here. Defeat all of them. Jump up to the ceiling crack using the debris which the Enigmas station. o------------------------o | Central Temen-ni-gru 2 | o------------------------o --------------------- = Surge of Fortunas = --------------------- Defeat the demons here. Now, head along the left wall up the slope to find a door here. Use the door. ------------------- = Endless Infenum = ------------------- Run down the left slope. Be careful not to drop down or you will end up at the Chamber of Sins (where you obtain the Onyx Moonshard). Kick Jump the wall with the pink glass for a red orb. Use the red door. ----------------------- = Giantwalker Chamber = ----------------------- Defeating the various demons here are optional. You just have to head for the red door at the other end. --------------------- = Incodescent Space = --------------------- Run forward and jump down the ledge. Sprint to the opposite wall. Use the divinity statue on the left side of the wall to upgrade if you want, and then use the door on the right side of the wall. ---------------------- = The Divine Library = ---------------------- Head forward to trigger a scene, and a boss fight. -------------------- = BOSS FIGHT: LADY = -------------------- Recommended Weapon: Recommended Style: Recommended Skill: Boss Bonus: 7500 Red Orbs Movement Pattern: Strategy: - Lady is an easy boss battle, because she is a full human. She attacks mainly by her gun. - She will escape by running and using the gun repellor to get away. - She will also throw grenades while on the upper level. The grenades can be identify by the beeping sound and the light on it on the ground. - Run around, and fire your gun. Use the string of combos to attack her, and maybe use the "Dash" move to close in. Once the battle ends, Lady will gives you the Kalina Ann. ----------------- = High-fly Zone = ----------------- Run forward, and jump onto the orange pod. Keep jumping onto the pods to get the red orbs. At the end, use the door to exit. 7500 worth of red orbs is your end boss reward. o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o 12.17)MISSION 17 o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o (Inner-demons: Confront your shadow.) o----------------------o | Upper Temen-ni-gru 1 | o----------------------o --------------------- = The Dark Corridor = --------------------- Jump up the wall to the hole which contains the Secret Mission formerly to get a Vital Star S. Run down the corridor, taking the Red Orbs on the ceiling. use the hole that has now appear at the other end. ------------------------ = Trial of the Warrior = ------------------------ Run down the area to the arena, and battle the demons. Take the Gold Orb after defeating them. Return to the Dark Corridor. --------------------- = The Dark Corridor = --------------------- Use the door. -------------------- = God-cube Chamber = -------------------- As you see, you have to use the cubes to get to the upper level. First, run to the back wall to smash the red crystals for red orbs. There is also a combat adjudicator here. A Beowulf is required to break it. Use the cubes to get to the first door. o----------------------o | Upper Temen-ni-gru 1 | o----------------------o --------------------- = Firestorm Chamber = --------------------- Defeat the demons to unseal the doors. Now use the opposite door. ---------------- = Azure Garden = ---------------- Smash the items around for red orbs. Use the Divinity Statue if needed. Run left into a small room for a Blue Orb Fragment. Return back. --------------------- = Firestorm Chamber = --------------------- Backtrack to the cube chamber. o----------------------o | Upper Temen-ni-gru 1 | o----------------------o -------------------- = God-cube Chamber = -------------------- Now you have to get to the upper level. Here's one of the most frustrating parts of the game. If you accidentally dropped to the ground, obviously, you have to start all over again. Air Hike is a very useful ability in this situation. Eitherway, jump up your way to the door above. Go through. -------------------------- = Tri-sealed Antechamber = -------------------------- Run forward. As you see, only 1 path is left remaining. Take that path. ------------------- = Trial of Wisdom = ------------------- Defeat the various demons here. After the seal is removed, go through the next doorway (skull with 4 red lights above). ------------------ = Trial of Skill = ------------------ You have to retake the Trial of SKill again. However, this time, the spikes are in the way that there is only one small spot in each batch that you can use to get across. Fortunately, they seems to be moving slower compared to just now. Either way, make your way to the opposite side. Now use the newly created hole on the left. Jump onto the red pod. o----------------------o | Upper Temen-ni-gru 4 | o----------------------o -------------------- = Pitch-Black Void = -------------------- Run forward. Take the left corridor up. Jump up onto the beam and the pillars above for red orbs. In the middle beam, touch the statue on the right edge to enter Secret Mission 11. Now go through the door. --------------- = Skull Spire = --------------- Run forward, and the red seal will be formed on the door you just used. First, break the barrels on either side for red orbs. Then, go combat the new enemy. They are the "Abyss". Abyss attack using the gigantic sickle, and they can teleport as well. However, they are not that strong. Defeat them to unseal the doors. Run opposite to use the door. ------------------ = Moonlight Mile = ------------------ Run to the opposite side and you should see a door with a divinity statue. Run for the door after you are done upgrading. o-------------------o | Temen-ni-gru Apex | o-------------------o --------------------- = Dark-pact Chamber = --------------------- Run to the opposite side of the slope to the mist. ------------------------ = Apparition Incarnate = ------------------------ At here, Dante's shadow will forms into an enemy. Dante calls it the...'poser'? ---------------------------- = BOSS FIGHT: DOPPELGANGER = ---------------------------- Recommended Weapon: Beowulf & Rebellion Recommended Style: (any style) Recommended Skill: (any skill) Boss Bonus: 8000 Red Orbs Movement Pattern: 1)Get close to Dante, attack 2)Appear from Dante's shadow, attack 3)Meteor to crest (reset target crest) 4)Body blast to crests (reset all crests) 5)Taunt Strategy: - This fight is very unique. As stated, this is a 'shadow' enemy. As such, your ordinary attack will only go through his body and inflict no damage. - Doppelganger possesses all of Dante's attack moves. Hence, you should watch out. - As he is a shadow enemy, you can only inflict damage to him when light shines on him. Light can be emitted by hitting the circular prints on the wall. Hitting the print caused lights to be cast onto the area nears it. If the Doppelganger is in the range, he will be stunned, and then you can use this chance to strike. - If you can hit all the circular prints, light will be casted onto the whole area and the enemy will be stunned. However, if one of more circular prints are not hitted, then the middle section of the arena will be dark, and the Doppelganger can hide himself there. From there, he will fire a black orb towards the circular print to make the light go away from it. Defeating this boss earns you the last STYLE, the "Doppelganger". Obtain the red orbs, then go touch the blue column of light. --------------------- = Dark-pact Chamber = --------------------- Run forward and up to the circular arena to end the mission. You will receive 8000 worth of red orbs as your Boss Bonus. o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o 12.18)MISSION 18 o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o (Invading hell: Break the seal and battle into the depths) o-------------o | Netherworld | o-------------o --------------------- = Unsacred Hellgate = --------------------- Nothing of interest for you. Just keep heading forward. Various rocks will appear to form a path for you. Jump into the large mirror. ---------------------- = Damned Chess Board = ---------------------- You have to battle the demons. Yes, those damned chess-series demons! However, this time, the Queen and the King joins in the battle now. The Damned King should be on your top priority on the 'must kill' list, as defeating him will elimilate any surviving Damned Chess pieces. Damned King is quite powerful, in that his attack is of an explosion. Also, the Damned Queen can teleport back to forth. The damned chess-pieces behaves like their real-life counterpart too, and they have their own characteristics. Future researches on them are required to derives their patterns... Damned Pawn: Able to transform into other chess pieces Damned Queen: Summon endless supplies of Damned Knights (to be confirm?) Damned King: Switch positions with Damned Rook. End chess battle when defeated When the army of damned chess pieces have fallen, go jump into the large mirror. ------------------- = Road to Despair = ------------------- Run past the fallen angels, and head to the opposite mirror. ---------------------- = Lost Souls Nirvana = ---------------------- From here, you have to defeat some bosses before you can proceed. There are various green orbs around to restore your vitality after each boss battle. To start a boss battle, simply go touch a wall with the color gizmo on it. The color represents the various bosses you will face. YELLOW: Gigapede PURPLE: Nevan LIGHT BLUE: Cerberus GREEN: Agni & Rudra RED: Heart of Leviathan BLUE: Geryon WHITE: Beowulf BLACK: Doppelganger ORANGE: Hell Vanguard X 2 w/Hell: Prides, Hell: Gluttonies & Hell: Lusts Upon defeating a boss, a gizmo will be lighted on a special stone plate. The various gizmos on it represents the various bosses you have and haven't defeated yet. To proceed the game, you have to defeat the bosses so that the gizmos on the stone plate is chained up, so you do not need to battle all of the bosses. "The next trial shall be revealed to the one who unites the light." However, your reward for defeating all of them is a Blue Orb Fragment. Purple / | \ / | \ Blue White Black | / | | | / | | Green-Blue\ | | \| Red-Orange-Yellow Jump through the mirror here once you are done to end the mission and collect your 8500 worth of red orbs for your boss bonus. o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o 12.19)MISSION 19 o------------------------------------------------------------------------------o (Forces collide: Topple the great beast with fate's bullet.) o-------------o | Netherworld | o-------------o ----------------------- = Room of Fallen Ones = ----------------------- Defeat the Abysses here. Rebellion's Stinger attack works well here, for me at least. After that, jump through the mirror. ------------------------ = Nirvana of Illusions = ------------------------ 2 Abysses strike here. There's a blue wall relief here, and here's the transcript on it: "Substance projects Image and Image punishes Substance." There's also a golden statue: "Stop the vicious circle by bending time and space. Looks like something can be inserted here." If you still didn't get the clue, you have to destroy the Abysses by other mean. You can knock the Abyss away with attacks, but they will not sustain the damage. If you notice, this room is fill with mirrors. A mirror will turn tint green randomly. You have to run around and attack the tint green mirror. Focus on hitting the tint green mirror instead of the demons. Hence, you cannot use the R1 lock-on here. Beowulf is recommended here. After inflicting enough damage to the tint-green mirror, the demons will be destroyed. Do the same thing to the next batch of Abysses. There are three Abysses this time, and after defeating them, the mirror leading to the next area will appear. -------------------- = Infinity Nirvana = -------------------- A hourglass stands in the middle of this area. Defeat the Abysses using the melee weapons. If the hourglass is depleted, the Abysses will reappear. Once they are dead, go take the item near the hourglass. It is the Samsara. After taking the item, a large mirror should appear to teleport you out. --------------------- = Lost Soul Nirvana = --------------------- You should return to the Lost Soul Nirvana where you battle those bosses. Don't worry a thing. Take the Green Orb here, and use back the same mirror. ----------------------- = Room of Fallen Ones = ----------------------- Once you get here, jump through back using the mirror again. There's nothing for you here. ------------------------ = Nirvana of Illusions = ------------------------ Once you reach here, goes to use the Samsara onto the golden statue. Now, go jump into the window. ------------------- = End of the Line = ------------------- Run upward. As again, debris will group together to form a path for you to cross. At the other side, use the Divinity Statue to upgrade, and then go use the door. --------------------- = Forbidden Nirvana = --------------------- Upon reaching here, the transformed Arkham will appear to confront you. ----------------------------------------- = BOSS FIGHT: ARKHAM w/ARKHAM'S LEGIONS = ----------------------------------------- Recommended Weapon: Kalina Ann Recommended Style: (any style) Recommended Skill: (any skill) Boss Bonus: 9000 Red Orbs Movement Pattern: 1)180 degree Tentacle 2)Change body color to green, front wide-attack 3)After (2), homing red missiles 4)SUmmon Legions Strategy: - Arkham attacks with his legions. If you read the description, it says that the Legions will explode when they touch you, hence it is obvious that you should avoid them at all cost. - The Arkham is an easy foe to defeat. Rush in, and use your melee weapon to attack him. After a while, he will summon his Legions out. They are fast, and constantly run after you at the same speed. Get to a good position, and then attack them. Kalina Ann is a great weapon to eliminate multiple of them at one go. - If needed, use the Devil Trigger and hack at him. After inflicting a certain amount of damage, he will be defeated and a scene will be triggered. - You will continue the fight with Vergil. With Vergil's assist, the remaining part of the fight should be much easier! Use the same tactic to defeat the boss. This time, you are barred from using all the special actions (those of Devil Arms). You can only execute simple sword attacks. Devil Trigger is disabled now as well. - If you have another controller in the 2nd controller port, you can use it to control Vergil. His basic attack consist of him in a 'pulling his sword' stance. When you see that stand, stop all attacks and start to run! Orbs will appear in the air, and if you touches them when they materialize, Dante will sustain damage. After about 4 or 5 orbs have appear, dash in to Vergil and start to pummel him. If he blocks your attack then jump up and fire. - Keep running around and attack. If he turned into Devil Trigger mode, get ready to run around again to dodge his combo attacks. He has a powerful three hits move. This move is deadly so you should avoid his attack at all cost. - Use up the items (Vital Stars etc) and turn into Devil Trigger mode, as this is the last battle. Use up everything you have to win. After he is defeated, do not put down the controller yet! While the credit rolls you can attack the demons. A counter will appear on the top right corner as you do so. If you kills more than 100 demons, you will get an extended version of the ending credit. 9500 worth of red orbs are your final boss bonus. ================================================================================ -------------------- | 13)SECRET MISSIONS |------------------------DEVIL MAY CRY 3: DANTE'S AWAKENING -------------------- ================================================================================ #Some of the Secret Missions are pretty hard. This game will grade your attack according to how stylish it is performed. Perform a string of nice combos consist of various different moves, and you will increase the stylish grade. The stylish grade is indicated by the word on the corner (Dope, Crazy, Blast, Alright etc). To get to the next grade (eg from Dope to Blast), you have to fill the bar to full. Performing different moves fills up the bar. Performing the same moves will decrease the bar content. The amount of red orbs drop from the demons in the game depend on how high your stylish grade is which you use to kill them. Finishing a demon with a SSStylish grade makes them drop more red orbs compare to when you finish them with a Dope grade. Grading is reset when the bar drops below "Dope". For mutiple-hits moves (eg Aerial Rave), the last hit usually increase the bar the most compares to its previous hits. Like Devil May Cry 2, attacking multiple demons/the moment you kills off a demon increase the bar more as well. The better stylish grades you get in the end, the higher the amount of red orbs are given from the "Stylish grade" category in the ranking screen. ======= SS RANK ======= To obtain a SS rank for a mission, you have to achieve an "S" grade for all ranking criterias. ======================== BULLET HOLE PRIOR RESULT ======================== The amount of bullet that is fired on the 'screen' when a mission ends is determined by your performance.
