You also won't just be flying over jumps and trying to cream the competition (although that is still present). Many new gameplay mechanics have been added and changed, most impressive of all is how the Wiimote is used. You hold the Wiimote in both hands, sideways, with the 1 and 2 buttons near your right hand and the D-pad near your left. Steering is done by just tilting the Wiimote. No more inaccurate turning with control sticks anymore! It's an exciting game, but are you up to the challenge? =========================================== ~2.Tutorial~ =========================================== As soon as you create a new file on Excite Truck, you can't just go flying into the main action right away. You must complete the first tutorial levels in order to unlock any modes. The tutorials will explain the controls to you, and you will need to perform them (generally by reaching the finish line) in a matter of a few seconds. Here's how to finish each tutorial stage incase you're stuck. ----------- 2A.Basics 1 ----------- Drive-In order to drive your truck, hold the Wiimote sideways so the 1 and 2 buttons are on the right side and the D-pad is on the left. Tilt the Wiimote left to steer left and vice versa. The path is pretty stright to the finish. Hit 2 for the brakes if you need to. You have about 25 seconds to reach the finish line. Turbo-Hold the D-pad in any direction to activate your turbo, giving you a boost of speed. You have a temperature gauge in the bottom-right side of the screen. This rises when you use the turbo and cools down when you don't. If it hits past the red zone, you overheat and can't turbo until the engine fully cools down again. Tap the turbo as often as you can to reach the finish line in time. Jump-Hold the turbo to gain speed as you fly off the jump infront of you. Tilt the Wiimote back to fly in the air longer so you can get past the gorge of trees. The finish line is right past the trees. Short Jump-Use the turbo to hit the jump with lots of speed again, but this time tilt the Wiimote forwards to land faster you you don't fly into a forest. Make a sharp right turn to reach the finish line. Air Turning-Hold the turbo until you fly off the jump. Turn in the air to the left so you pass between the green lines. Doing so will finish this tutorial. ----------- 2B.Basics 2 ----------- Cooling Down-There are other ways to cool off your engine faster. Flying through air cools the engine down very fast while driving through water cools it off instantly. You can turbo through water without raising the temperature gauge so keep that in mind. Make efficient use of not overheating the engine and tricks to cool it down quickly and race for the finish line. Turbo Jump-As soon as you hit a jump and all four wheels are off the ground, tap the turbo to make a Turbo Jump which propels your truck higher into the air and adds to the distance it flies. All you need to do is perform one Turbo Jump to clear the mission. Landing Boost-You get plenty of air time in Excite Truck. Any time you get a turbo boost you can get a nice landing, or a Landing Boost. As your truck approaches ground, even the truck out so all the wheels land on the ground and not just the front/back wheels. If done correctly, "Nice Landing!" will appear and you will get a huge temporary boost. Perform a single Landing Boost to clear this mission. Terrain Morph-Every track has multiple "!" icons, called Terrain Morphs. Hitting these changes the terrain infront of you instantly, forming cliffs, making boulders fall, and revealing shortcut are only a few example of what a Terrain Morph may do. In this mission, hit the Morph dead ahead of you to form a hill. Boost off of it to fly through the finish line. Power Item-On some tracks there is a POW hidden somewhere. This POW turns your truck into a mobile wrecking ball as sirens flare in the background. With a POW, your truck can crash through trees without a scratch, and just tapping a truck gives an automatic Super Truck Smash. Be warned, if you touch a tree you CAN'T grab any more Tree Run stars until the POW wears off. POW's last about 10 seconds so make the most of it! Grab the POW right infront of your truck and use it to rampage your way to the finish line. ----------- 2C.Stunts 1 ----------- Air-Use a Turbo Jump if you can and fly far enough to grab at least 2 stars. You gain stars from doing all sorts of stunts. Stars are the key to winning races. Do as many stunts as you can to earn stars! Drift-When you hit a turn, you should turn hard by tilting the Wiimote severely in the direction you are turning. This is called a drift as you slide along the ground and get stars. The amount of stars you get from a drift is determined by the distance drifted. In this stage, make a hard left at the turn and tap the turbo to rack of the drift stars. You need to get at least two to pass. Air Rings-Some terrain morphs form hills, while others create a set of five rings at the top of hills. For each ring you fly through you will obtain a star. In this practice, hit the morph to make three rings appear at the top of the hill ahead. Using a Turbo Jump, sail through at least two of these rings to clear the stage. Rings can be a big income of stars on some tracks so learn how to Turbo Jump effectively! Air Spin-When you fly off a jump and are getting Air stars, you can perform Air Spins. These are a tricky stunt to pull off, but is rewarded by lots of stars. In the air, hold the 1 button and the D-pad in any direction. Then while tilting the Wiimote back, tilt it slightly one direction then forcefully the other. If done correctly, your truck will do a 360. This may take some practice to do properly. Complete at least one air spin to clear this stage. ----------- 2C.Stunts 2 ----------- Tree Runs-If you drive near trees, you will get a star for each tree you drive past. Since trees are the most common hazard on every course, abusing the chance to grba stars from them shouldn't be a problem. In this mission you need to drive down the path with trees bordering it. Drive near one side of trees and avoid hitting them. Grab at least a 2- Star Tree Run to pass. Truck Throw-If you hit a terrain morph just as a truck is passing over the part of track that gets transformed, said truck(s) will get flung into the air. This is a truck throw. Each truck thrown earns you a star in an actual race. In this practice round, hold the turbo for a full second then just cruise into the morph. If done right, the enemy truck should be thrown and you will clear this stage. Air Spins-You conquered mastering an Air Spin, but mastering Air Spins is far harder. Air Spins is when you finish one air spin then immediately begin another. The timing for this is difficult to master. Fly off the jump and perform an air spin. Once the truck faces forward again, quickly perform another air spin motion before the invisible ingame timer, your window of oppertunity, closes and you can't score the combo. If you are having trouble, a user on the message boards posted this video which shows what you should be doing in order to perform multiple air spins: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcG-5pFbcYs Truck Smash-Definately one of the more fun stunts, truck smashing is an easy way to earn stars. All you need to do is ram your truck into an opposing truck. If you destroy their's, it is an easy 5-Star Super Truck Smash. Otherwise you'll get an amount of stars equal to the damage done. Using the turbo to ram into them is necessary to earn a lot of stars. In the final tutorial stage, earn at least one star from a truck smash. Shouldn't be too hard. =========================================== ~3.Excite Trucks~ =========================================== There are a large variety of trucks you can choose to race with. Each truck has five different stats. They are ranked (based on what the game says, not my opinion) from .5 to 5. .5 is an abysmal stat while 5 is a perfect stat. Only handling isn't on a number scale. In terms of handling there are three different levels-slow, medium, and quick. Slow trucks need more of a tilt for them to steer properly while quick trucks can be steered with ease and little motion. Here are the stats: Speed-Obviously, how fast a truck can go. Turbo-How much faster a truck is able to go when using the turbo. Air-How long a truck is able to fly through the air. Grip-How the truck handles in turns. The higher grip rating, the easier it is to flow through turns. Handling-How the truck responds to the motions done with the Wiimote. Slow means it takes more motion to move the truck, while Quick means the truck follows every little motion you make as soon as it's made. Unlocking the trucks is quite simple. Although totally unknown what the actualy varible is, all I can say is just play the game. I think it's based off the amount of races you've played, maybe the ones you win. I don't know exactly (and it's still being tested by people to figure out what causes them to be unlocked!). You can unlock most trucks from Excite Mode. However, 4 new trucks will appear (as silhouettes, though) once you unlock Super Excite Mode. You can earn alternate paint jobs for each truck as well. Either race in 10 races with the truck, win or lose. Alternatively, just obtain 3 S ranks with the truck (can be done on any track, so you could just choose the first Mexico track for easy S ranks). If you obtain all the alternate pain jobs for all 19 trucks, you will unlock the Monster Truck. If you can complete Mirror Mode with all S ranks then you will unlock the ultimate truck, the Crazy Monster Truck. ~Boulder~ Speed-2.5 Turbo-3 Air-2.5 Grip-3 Handling-Medium The Boulder is definately the most average truck in the game, and is superb for beginners. Hell, I liked this truck right away and used it in every single race from there on. It's got all around stats, but once you start unlocking trucks you'll be wanting something a little bit better. ~Firefly~ Speed-2.5 Turbo-2.5 Air-3.5 Grip-2.5 Handling-Quick Like the Boulder, these stats are also all around and good to use in early races. I tend to prefer less handling, though. Slight turning will cause the truck to slide very quickly in the direction you're turning, and I don't like that. If you like the quick turning, it'll definately come in handy in some races. ~Wolf~ Speed-3.5 Turbo-2.5 Air-2.5 Grip-2.5 Handling-Quick The Wolf is a near copy of the Firefly. However, it seems to control far worse than the Firefly. Seriously, this truck has real awful control when I use it. There are far better trucks to use than this one, that's for sure. ~Summit~ Speed-4 Turbo-3.5 Air-2 Grip-2 Handling-Slow I find that despite the low Air stat, this truck still flies quite far. The Summit is definately a good choice from the beginning trucks. The low Grip and Handling will make turning, especially drifting, quite difficult so if you're having a lot of trouble doing those tricks with this truck you may want to stay away from it. ~Serpent~ Speed-2 Turbo-3 Air-2.5 Grip-4 Handling-Medium For the first unlockable truck, it sure is crappy. Good luck getting to and keeping the lead in a tight race, the low speed and sup-par turbo will make is difficult to win a bit, and the low air rating will ensure you don't get many stars from the jumps. The grip may be high, but this isn't a really good truck. ~Alpine~ Speed-2.5 Turbo-2.5 Air-4 Grip-3 Handling-Quick The Alpine at least as two decent stats, but you still aren't going to get much speed out of this guy. Still, it's worth a shot to try out this truck. It actually drives quite decent, so it may be a prefrence among some people. Try it out. ~Raven~ Speed-3.5 Turbo-2.5 Air-3 Grip-3.5 Handling-Medium Things are starting to look up as the Raven actually has pretty good stats. The turbo rating may be a bit low, but it's still a good truck to use and will get you through the race quite well. Definately a good choice at the point in the game you unlock it. ~Dominator~ Speed-3.5 Turbo-3 Air-2.5 Grip-4 Handling-Medium The Dominator is one beast of a truck, and true to its name it really can dominate a race. It has really good stats and control, especially speed and grip which compliment eachother nice. But the air time seems seriously hindered with this truck. If you can look past that and make the most of this truck, it's a great choice. ~Rad~ Speed-3 Turbo-4 Air-2.5 Grip-3.5 Handling-Medium The Rad is a pretty good truck. The high speed and turbo are nice, decent air time, and high grip come together to form a decent truck that works well if you use it. ~Razor~ Speed-4.5 Turbo-4.5 Air-1.5 Grip-2.5 Handling-Slow The Razor trades any air time and control of the truck for high speed and turbo. While this may seem pretty fair, it isn't. You need decent air time and control to get a high amount of stars on the course, and just high speed and turbo isn't going to make a great victory star-wise. Overall, a difficult truck to use. ~Dynamo~ Speed-3 Turbo-3 Air-3.5 Grip-3.5 Handling-Quick Really decent stats on this truck. Pretty good turbo and speed, really good air and grip as well as quick handling, there just isn't much wrong with this truck. A good choice ot use it if you want to, you can't go wrong with stats like that. ~Mongoose~ Speed-4.5 Turbo-2.5 Air-2 Grip-4.5 Handling-Medium This is a decent truck. It has superb speed and grip, but really bad air and turbo. Those are two important stats as you probably know, so with such low ratings it's best to avoid this truck. ~Blaster~ Speed-4.5 Turbo-3 Air-2.5 Grip-4 Handling-Medium This is another good truck to use. It has high speed and grip, but the turbo and air aren't all that bad and are actually usable with. This is most certainly a good truck to race with. ~Mako~ Speed-4.5 Turbo-1.5 Air-4.5 Grip-4 Handling-Quick This is yet another truck with high stats, but with one really crappy stats. You already have high speed, so the minimal boost from the turbo can be ignored. If you can do that well and still win races, this truck is actually quite fantastic. But since you'll be needing the turbo a lot on some tracks, there may be times where this truck just doesn't cut it. ~Trekken~ Speed-4 Turbo-2.5 Air-3.5 Grip-4.5 Handling-Medium The Trekken is a pretty good truck. It has its high stats, but as the fault with most trucks comes from, this one too suffers from a low turbo rating. As usual, if you can do well even without the high turbo speeds, then this is another good truck you can use. ~Kodiac~ Speed-5 Turbo-5 Air-2 Grip-2.5 Handling-Slow Well, it has two perfect 5 ratings so this truck is going to go absurdly fast. However, it's going to be difficult keeping those speeds in the high end turns with the low grip and handling. The really low air also makes this truck sub-par. It looks good, but it doesn't quite play that well. ~Saguaro~ Speed-3 Turbo-4 Air-3 Grip-4.5 Handling-Quick This is another all-around truck. It has really good stats, making it a good pick for most tracks. The high grip and handling work well together, and the speed and turbo ratings show that this truck can hit pretty good speeds throughout a race. It's a good pick. ~Wolverine~ Speed-4 Turbo-2.5 Air-4.5 Grip-5 Handling-Medium Here's another truck that has great stats, but mediocre turbo. There's enough of these trucks the way it is, so if you already use a truck similar to this one, there isn't much reason to switch now. ~Wasp~ Speed-5 Turbo-5 Air-3 Grip-4.5 Handling-Medium Here's another truck with mostly good stats, but the low stat is in air this time, and better yet the stat is a 3! The Wasp is a crazy fast truck with excellant turning and decent air time. A great truck, especially since it's one of the last ones you unlock. ~Monster Truck~ Speed-5 Turbo-5 Air-5 Grip-1 Handling-Slow The Monster Truck is a true beast on the track. This thing is huge and is practically a large wrecking ball compared to the other trucks. It has three perfect 5's, but this thing is difficult to turn. Very difficult to turn. With some work it can be done and this can be used as a great truck. You need to get the alternate paint job for every other truck to unlock the Monster Truck. ~Crazy Monster Truck~ Speed-5 Turbo-5 Air-5 Grip-1 Handling-Slow The final truck you unlock in the game, for getting an S rank on every Mirror Mode track. And...wait. What makes it different from the Monster Truck. Well, for starters it has infinte POW on it. This thing, from the moment you accelerate, becomes a "get the hell out of my way" truck. Touch another truck, Super Truck Smash. See that forest? Super Tree Run through it. That jump? This thing soars over jumps. You can't turbo with it (since when using POW the speed makes it as if you were infintely using the turbo). You can, though, still turbo jump. A great and fun truck to use for beating everything. =========================================== ~4.Excite/Super Excite Mode~ =========================================== Excite Race is the main mode of the game. The object on each track is to earn a B ranking or better. Your ranking is determined by how many Stars you collect on the track. As you already know, pulling off crazy stunts will earn you stars. Each track has a pre-set amount of stars, telling you how many you need for the B rank. If you B rank or better every track in a cup, the next cup will be unlocked. Once you beat Excite Mode, you will be told to get an S rank on every track to unlock Super Excite Mode. In Super Excite Mode, the tracks are the same, but the AI is far more difficult. Also, the B rank and S rank Star requirements are higher than in Excite Mode. Basically, it's much harder. There is also an extra fifth cup only in Super Excite Mode (as well as Mirror Mode). Any course differences between Excite and Super Excite Modes will be mentioned. The courses will be given a walthrough from start to finish, noting places on the tracks where you can earn easy stars. The B and S rank requirements for each difficulty will be given, as well as a track difficulty rating based on my opinion. Finally of mention is the time limit. To ensure you don't just screw around and collect stars from tree runs, backing up and doing it again, each track has a time limit. If you actually try to finish you won't have any problem finishing in time. Screw around and you'll be disqualified for not finishing. When you finish a race you will be awarded bonus stars based on your place. 50 for 1st place, 25 for 2nd place, 15 for 3rd place, 10 for 4th place, 5 for 5th place, and nothing if you come in last. You can still hit an S rank even if you come in 2nd, so always try to at least finish the race! ------------------------------------------- ~4A.Bronze Cup~ ------------------------------------------- The Bronze Cup contains only four courses, and all of them are pretty simple tracks with fairly easy B rank requirements. In Super Excite Mode you'll get your first taste of how difficult the game has become. In Excite Mode, you'll get a good feel on how the rest of the tracks play out. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Bronze Cup:Mexico-Greenhorn Gulch~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Excite B Rank-70 Stars Excite S Rank-90 Stars Super Excite B Rank-80 Stars Super Excite S Rank-100 Stars Time Limit-3:00 (Excite)/2:15 (Super Excite) Laps-2 Difficulty-1/10 This is a fairly good beginners track. Start by drifting around the first left turn. Hit a turbo jump at the first hill to fly over your competitors and make sure that you land at or before the right turn, or you'll overshoot and be in some trouble. Hit the ! Morph to make a set of 5 rings appear over the next hill. On Excite, don't turbo jump and you'll easily fly through all the rings. On Super Excite, these rings are smaller and spaced further apart. You'll need to turbo jump to reach them. On most tracks in Super Excite, the rings will always work this way, so assume that description for the Super Excite version of the track from here on. Once you land past the hill you will hit a right turn. The path splits off here. You can head left, which will take you into a POW near some trees where you can easily rack up Super Tree Runs. You will fly off a cliff and into a forest where you can score more tree runs. Make sure you manuver right and back onto the main road. If you went right at the fork, you will hit a left turn and go down and up a hill. You will meet back to where the alternative path ends up. The road will peak at the top of a hill, so hit a turbo jump here. You should cruise down to the bottom of the hill and pick up a few stars. After the right turn comes another ! Morph which will make a hill form right infront of you. Make sure you hit the turbo jump for some more air stars. You will probably land near or past the final ! Morph. This will cause some boulders to fall off the ridge near you. They will pass infront of you (you can't hit them) and the dust the bring up will hinder your vision as you head along the final right turn and straight into the finish line. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Bronze Cup:Fiji-Atoll Top~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Excite B Rank-120 Stars Excite S Rank-150 Stars Super Excite B Rank-135 Stars Super Excite S Rank-170 Stars Time Limit-5:00 (Excite)/4:15 (Super Excite) Laps-2 Difficulty-4/10 This is probably the most difficult track in the Bronze Cup. At the start you can either go left or right. Heading left you will drive up the side of the volcano. At the right curve, hit the ! Morph to drop the hill ahead to ground level for smoother driving. You can get a turbo jump here to fly to the bottom, where after a left curve the path merges. If you head right, you can turbo jump off a small hill and then drift around the left curve that appears ahead of it. At the peak of the hill the paths merge. It's unadvised to get a turbo jump from the top of this hill. On the descent you will likely miss the ! Morph, which will make the hill ahead change a bit and make five rings appear. Turbo jump in order to reach them all. Once you reach the ground, you will be presented with another split path. If you head left, you will hit a ! Morph which will make five more rings appear at the hill ahead of you. After the jump with the rings, you will have to jump across several different islands. Be careful on the third and ensure you don't overshoot. Land early to tackle the quick right turn. If you mix nice landings with turbo jumps short after, you can rack up Jump Combo stars. The paths merge shortly after the last hill. If you head right, you'll drive over a bumpy bridge, then you will hit a ! Morph which will make a set of five rings appear over the next jump. Turbo jump to soar through them all, land on the island and turbo jump back to the main land. The path merges ahead of the landing. A sharp left turn comes after the merge. Hit the ! Morph to lower the hill for an easier passing of the next turn. After a right turn you will drop down a short hill. Hit the ! Morph to open up a passage on the left side of the road. If you follow it, you will hit a POW and score plenty of tree runs. Turbo jump off the final ledge to fly to the next and last fork in the road. If you take the normal path, you will climb a hill and will have to make a blind left turn. Take it too fast and you'll crash off the cliff and into the water, so be careful. Past the overpss, the road forks again. Head left if you want tree runs. Past the left curve will be a ! Morph that lowers a hill ahead that drops straight at the finish line. If you took the right path, you should hit the ! Morph to lower the cliff into the water. Hold the turbo and earn a large amount of drift stars around this huge curve. Climb to the top of the final hill and race down it to the finish line. On the second lap, the volcanoes dotted along the track will erupt and spew rocks onto the road. Take care to avoid them. The smoke they produce may hinder your vision a bit on some portions of the track. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Bronze Cup:Canada-Puddle Jump~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Excite B Rank-135 Stars Excite S Rank-170 Stars Super Excite B Rank-150 Stars Super Excite S Rank-190 Stars Time Limit-5:30 (Excite)/4:30 (Super Excite) Laps-2 Difficulty-4/10 This is a decently challenging course. At the start is a sharp 180 degree left turn which most trucks should have no problem getting a Super Drift on. Past the turn is a ! Morph that raises a hill up ahead and makes five rings appear. Get a turbo jump to fly through them all. You should get a Super Air by the time you drop onto the ground. Do so before the left turn which leads right into a split path. If you choose to go left, hit the ! Morph to lower the path ahead. Hit the next ! Morph after it to make the next hill rise, and to create five rings for you the fly through. Get a turbo jump, you'll want it for the huge drop off ahead. If you went right, turbo jump down the hill and follow the simple, straight path. Over the top of the hill the paths will merge. Around the next right turn is a ! Morph that will make a large hill appear. Fly off of it. Once you land there will be another fork. Heading right is a large drop off, ensuring a Super Air if you continue to fly down this area of road. Hit the ! Morph at the bottom to lower the land into the water. Hold the turbo through this area, and past the left turns. Up the next hill, hit the ! Morph to cause a hill to form and a set of five rings. Turbo jump to reach them all as usual. If you went left at the fork from earlier, you will head up a hill and then fly down a cliff. When you land, you will drive up another hill, and speedly fall back down it to the area where the paths merge. After the next left turn, hit the ! Morph to lower the terrain nearby. This will allow you reach a POW and rush through the forest it's sitting in, racking up many Super Tree Runs if you don't crash into a tree. If you don't go down this path, you'll just have to pass a left turn before heading to where the forest road leads you to. Finally, you will speed up a hill, perform a quick right turn, and a ! Morph will be waiting which will create a launching ramp allowing you to turbo jump an insane distance through the air. Enjoy the view and get the easy Super Air. Once you touch ground again, it's a straight path to the finish line. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Bronze Cup:Scotland-Sylvan Glen~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Excite B Rank-110 Stars Excite S Rank-135 Stars Super Excite B Rank-120 Stars Super Excite S Rank-145 Stars Time Limit-4:00 (Excite)/3:15 (Super Excite) Laps-2 Difficulty-2/10 This is a fairly simple track. Start by darting ahead to the POW. The first ! Morph, if you hit since you're probably going banzai with the close competetion, will make a hill appear. With the POW's speed, a turbo jump will send you flying through the air at ludcrious speed. Make sure you land before the right turn, or you'll fly into a dense forest. Past the turn is a ! Morph as well, making another hill appear infront of you. Make sure you turbo jump to fly over the gorge and drive straight into the next ! Morph. This will cause the hill infront of you to lower, and another hill to rise nearby as well as five rings appearing at the top of the hill. Turbo jump to nab all the rings. Once you land, you need to jump over a few hills. Drift along the large right turn. Down the next hill you can hit another ! Morph which will make another hill appear and create five rings, all easily obtained with a turbo jump. The jump will send you flying far, and the landing will be near the finish line. ------------------------------------------- ~4B.Silver Cup~ ------------------------------------------- The Silver Cup and above will contain five tracks instead of four. The tracks are getting harder, weather conditions fiercer, and star requirements are rising. If you got all S ranks in the Bronze Cup, you will be in fine condition for the Silver Cup. The tracks are longer and harder to navigate, so be sure you're ready! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Silver Cup:Mexico-Dusty Pass~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Excite B Rank-85 Stars Excite S Rank-105 Stars Super Excite B Rank-95 Stars Super Excite S Rank-115 Stars Time Limit-2:45 (Excite)/2:45 (Super Excite) Laps-2 Difficulty-4/10 This is a pretty easy start to the Silver Cup. Start the race with a turbo jump off the first ramp and glide to the bottom of the hill. After the landing, you'll make a quick right. Make sure you use a turbo jump off the ramp to get across the gorge, or you'll waste time climbing the hill to get out of it. Once across, you'll perform a small and hard left turn near the canyon walls. Make sure not to ram into them as you drift around the corner. After the turn, hit the ! Morph to make a hill form ahead of you. Using a turbo jump will allow you to fly across the large pool of water below. If you fall in, you can just hold the turbo to speed through the pool. Land after the jump and pull through the left turn. You'll see a ! Morph to the left of the road. Hitting this will blast a hole in the wall, allowing you to score many tree runs. You will get a POW where the wall was so you can speed through and back onto the main track when the forest ends. If you take the normal path, you'll hit a ! Morph on the actual road which causes a hill to form in the small hole in the wall you must drive through. Upon landing and where the paths merge you'll come across another jump across a pool of water, and another easy Super Air. Upon landing, head left and ahead are two ! Morphs. One is off the road. This one will lower the terrain ahead to allow a few more tree run stars before leading you back to the main road. If you hit the ! Morph on the normal road, then five rings will appear at a jump just past the Morph. Shortly up the hill you will see a ! Morph to the left. Hitting this will lower the grey mountain to form a path which you can use as a shortcut to reach the first fork on this map. If you take the normal route, then hit the ! Morph to make an oil tower collapse and past the left turn, a hill to form. Veer off the right side of it, though. Don't jump straight. The road twists to the right so you might as well just use such a shortcut. At the bottom of the hill is a ramp. When you fly into the air you'll see two islands to the left and to the right. If you take the left island, you will need to turbo jump form island to island, with the possibility of racking up high Jump Combos. Be sure not to overshoot any of the islands by mistake. Once back on land, hit the ! Morph to make a hill appear. Over the jump is a POW which you can use to mow down any nearby foes and bash through the forest dead ahead. Past the forest, the path merges. If you chose the right island, upon landing on it hit the ! Morph to make five rings appear at the jump ahead of you, simply gotten with a turbo jump. On the next island the ! Morph will cause the overhead pass to collapse, hindering your vision with all the flying icicles. Be wary. Around the left turn, you'll need to turbo jump to another island, and once more to solid land. Hit the ! Morph once there to make a large hill. Make sure you land before the left turn up ahead, overshooting will land you in the ocean past the cliff. Hit the ! Morph past the turn to lower the land and create a tall hill. At the top of the hill the paths merge. At the centerpoint of the merge is a ! Morph. This creates a huge hill where if you turbo jump off of it you will soar over the next fork in the road, where all you do is manuver around a tiny group of trees. Nothing major. Turbo over the short hill at the end and make the left turn. Hit the ! Morph which will cause five easy rings to appear. A turbo jump is more than enough to sail you through them. Once you land again, head through the right turn. There will be another ! Morph to cause a large hill to form, where you can fly off of and reach the spot where the paths merge. If you went right, hit the ! Morph to make a large hill appear. Turbo jump off the hill and follow the snaking path through the right and left turns. Drift for some extra stars if you can. After the three turns you'll spot a ! Turbo jump off the cliff and onto a different area of track far ahead. Alternatively, just follow the main path to the left and around the forest. Hitting the ! Morph will drop the ground. This creates another split path. If you head left, you'll head straight to a ! Morph which creates a hill that will allow you to jump to the next island with another ! Morph, but this one will create five rings on the jump just ahead. After the hill the paths merge. If you went right, you'll follow a sharp turn for some easy drift stars into a ! Morph. This creates a large hill which you can use to turbo jump all the way over the snaking path below you, which winds around a lagoon. Bes to just fly over, isn't it? Once you hit land again past the lagoon, follow the hill upwards and to where the paths merge. Another ! Morph is up ahead, which makes yet another hill and fork. Heading left leads to a ! Morph which lowers another hill ahead of you. Drift around the right turn and up the hill to where the paths merge. If you went right, you'll manuver to the left, then will make a hard right turn for some easy drift stars. As you head under and overpass, the paths merge. Past this structure is a ! As you head under the Great Wall, you'll desend down a hill, followed by an insanely sharp right-hand U-turn into a damp grove. A ! Be sure you don't crash into the train bridge when trying to land. If you think you will, quickly nosedive onto the ground. Head straight once on the ground and into a POW. There's no real tree runs to earn here, so destroy any truck you can for some Super Truck Smashes as well as earning drift stars by drifting the left turn. Past the underpass you'll hit a ramp. Fly over the water, but land before the right turn or you'll fly into some rocks. Hit the ! Morph here to cause a hill to form up ahead and make five rings appear. This hill is tricky to turbo jump from, and the camera coming onto the bumper of your truck as you move up the hill doesn't help either. If you are just slightly off the rings will be impossible to hit, so try to be perfect. A Super Air is easily earned here if you turbo jump. Land before the right turn and hit the ! Morph there. This will lower a hill ahead, revealing a wide path through a forest left of the road. You can head through here for some tree runs, or you can just follow the main road as it loops left of this forest. Turbo through the water. Up ahead will be a forked path. The star requirements are the same as the ones in Super Excite Mode, and the tracks are exactly the same save for the mirrored directions. Don't be surprised if you S Rank many tracks on your first go. ------------------------------------------- ~5A.Bronze Cup~ ------------------------------------------- Like before, you'll get adjusted to Mirror Mode with this cup. The computer also seems to be slightly harder in this mode, so don't be surprised if it's a constant struggle for first place. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Bronze Cup:Mexico-Greenhorn Gulch~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-80 Stars Mirror S Rank-100 Stars Time Limit-2:15 Laps-2 Difficulty-2/10 Start off with the right turn. Turbo jump over the first hill to catch some air, and land before the left turn. Drift through it and hit the ! Morph to make five very small rings appear over the next hill. Once you land from this jump, you can veer to the right and hit a POW. Head through the forest and off the cliff for some tree run stars. Otherwise, follow the normal route to the right and up two hills. Turbo jump off the second hill. After you glide to the ground, manuver through the left turn and hit the ! Morph. This will make a hill appear infront of you. Turbo jump off of it and fly past the last ! Morph. This morph will just drop some boulders that won't reallt affect much. Past the left turn will be the finish line. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Bronze Cup:Fiji-Atoll Hop~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-135 Stars Mirror S Rank-170 Stars Time Limit-4:15 Laps-2 Difficulty-6/10 You'll start this track with a split road. If you head left you'll go over a small hill then climb a steep hill to where the tracks merge. If you go right, you can hit a ! Morph to lower the turn to the merge point, making it far easier to drift around the curve. From the merge you will head down a hill. Hit the ! Morph to make a hill rise and have five very hard to hit rings appear. They are tricky to get, and their small size doesn't help much. Past the jump when you land is another split road. If you head left, you will go over a bridge. Hit the ! Morph the make five rings appear over the next jump. After you land there's a straightaway that leads to the merge point. If you went right, you will need to turbo jump off several islands in quick succession. Be sure not to overshoot any of the islands. If you are quick, you can score a high jump combo in this area and get many stars from it. Past the merge, drift right and hit the ! Morph to lower the next right turn. Drift through the left turn and hit the ! Morph just down the hill. This will lower a path to the right with a POW. You can score some tree runs with the POW before jumping off a cliff, or you can just take the normal route which is a right turn around the trees. The path splits past the waterfall. If you head left, hit the ! Morph to lower the terrain into the water. Hold the turbo and perform a Super Drift around the long right turn. Up the hill is a ! Morph that will make the volcanoes rain large rocks onto the track near the finish line. If you went right, the path snakes right and left. There is a ! Morph at the end that also spews rocks onto the straightaway with the finish line. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Bronze Cup:Canada-Puddle Jump~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-150 Stars Mirror S Rank-190 Stars Time Limit-4:30 Laps-2 Difficulty-5/10 Drift around the long right turn and pick up a Super Drift. Past the turn, hit the ! Morph to make a hill and five small rings to appear. After landing from the jump, drift the right turn and you'll reach a split path. If you head left, it's just a straight road to the merge. Avoid this since you can't really get any stars. If you head right, hit the ! Morph to make a hill and five rings appear. After you land from the jump you will be at the merge point. Hit the ! Morph in the next turn to make a hill appear. The path splits while you are in the air. If you head left you will continue flying down the cliff and easily get a Super Air. Hit the ! Morph to lower the terrain ahead into the water. Turbo through the water to the merge point. If you chose to go right, you'll hit the ground quickly. Climb uphill and jump off the cliff there. You will land near the merge point. After the right turn, hit the ! Morph to lower the terrain nearby so you can hit the POW and fly through the forest and pick up a ton of tree run stars. If you miss this oppertunity, the road just turns right and around the forested section. You will start climbing uphill and make a quick left turn. Hit the ! Morph to create a hill, and a turbo jump will send you flying across the track, and you will land near the finish line. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Bronze Cup:Scotland-Sylvan Glen~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-120 Stars Mirror S Rank-145 Stars Time Limit-3:15 Laps-3 Difficulty-5/10 Drive straight into the POW. Hit the ! Morph to make a hill form ahead. Turbo jump to get an easy Super Air and land with the left turn. The next ! Morph will make a hill that is needed to boost you over the ravine below, which will take a few seconds to drive out of if you fall in. The ! Morph after that will make another hill appear as well as five rings. They are spread far apart in the air, and you can actually fly higher than the rings so keep that in mind. Turbo jump across the small hills you land on, then drift around the left curve. Down the hill you will hit a ! Morph that will make another hill form as well as five more rings. Once you land from this jump you will be right infront of the finish line. ------------------------------------------- ~5B.Silver Cup~ ------------------------------------------- With much harder and longer tracks, the Silver Cup becomes all the more annoying with the mirrored versions of the courses. Remember to look at the map in the bottom-left corner if you need to quickly know about the turns coming up you can't see. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Silver Cup:Mexico-Dusty Pass~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-95 Stars Mirror S Rank-115 Stars Time Limit-2:45 Laps-2 Difficulty-4/10 Start off by turbo jumping down the hill. Drift around the left turn at the bottom of the hill and jump off the next ramp. Be sure to keep centered so you avoid hitting any of the walls along the side of the road. That would be bad. Drift around the long but thin right turn and hit the ! Morph to make a hill appear. This will carry you across the pool of water below. Land on the right turn and you will see two ! Morphs ahead, one on the side of the road. If you hit the one on the right, a hole in the wall ahead will be blasted (this is a tree run path if you couldn't tell), revealing a POW so you can easily score even more tree runs. The ! Morph on the left will make a hill appear ahead. Once you land, head off the next jump. Once you land across the water, follow the right turn. There's another two ! Morphs here. The ! Morph on the right will lower the terrain ahead, allowing for some eays tree runs. Turn right at the end to get back on the track. This is also a nifty shortcut. Hit the ! Morph on the left to make five rings appear at the next hill. Once you land from this hill, drift the final right turn and the finish line will be right ahead. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Silver Cup:Finland-Iceberg Run~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-110 Stars Mirror S Rank-140 Stars Time Limit-3:45 Laps-2 Difficulty-6/10 Start off by heading straight and over the ramp. The ! Morph ahead makes a second path. It opens up infront of you and will lead to a large jump that will send you flying to the next forked path and pick up an easy Super Air. If you went the normal route instead, hit the ! Morph to make a hill appear around the right turn. Veer off the left edge of the jump as a shortcut to reach the forked path below. When you turbo jump off the hill, you'll have two islands to choose from. If you head to the left island, hit the ! Morph to make five rings appear ahead of you. The next ! Morph ahead of you when you land from this jump will cause some falling debris, but it's not much so it can really be ignored. Jump over the next two islands and back to the mainland. The ! Morph here will make a hill. Land with the right turn, then hit the next ! Morph. This will lower the land ahead of you, so turbo through the water and up the newly formed hill to fly to the merge point. If you went right, you will need to turbo jump over four islands. Don't overshoot any of them, and if you turbo jump in quick succession you can rack up a large jump combo. Back on the mainland, hit the ! Morph to make a hill form. You will hit a POW past the right turn when you land. Use it to charge through the forested road ahead of you without worry. After this the tracks will merge. Get the ! Morph past the merge to make a hill appear, allowing for a huge jump. This will carry you all the way over the last fork around some trees. Don't overshoot the right turn, and the finish line will be right ahead. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Silver Cup:Scotland-Highland Moors~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-115 Stars Mirror S Rank-145 Stars Time Limit-3:45 Laps-3 Difficulty-4/10 Start off by heading straight. Drift the long left turn, then hit the ! Morph to make five rings appear over the next jump. Get the POW so you even have a chance of coming near the rings as well as an easy Super Air. Once you land, drift left and hit the ! Morph to scatter some debris on the sides of the track, as well as possibly throwing some enemy trucks. Turbo through the water. After the next short jump and right turn, is a ! Morph that will make five rings appear on the short jump just ahead. A turbo jump may send you flying over the rings, so adjust accordingly. Past the left curve is another ! Morph that will make a hill form up ahead and make the bridge overpass get destroyed, scattering debris everywhere. Be careful as you drive through the dust. Once you land from the jump you will be near the finish line. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Silver Cup:Fiji-Beach Run~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-155 Stars Mirror S Rank-195 Stars Time Limit-5:30 Laps-2 Difficulty-7/10 The road splits right away. If you go left, hit the ! Morph to make a hill form. Around the right turn when you land, drift along the upcoming left and right turns. Hit the ! Morph where the paths merge to make five rings appear at the hill ahead. If you went right, you will need to turbo jump across four islands back to the mainland. Try to rack up some jump combos here, and be sure not to overshoot any of the islands. Hit the ! Morph back on land to make a hill appear leading to the merge point. Drift around the left turn and get the POW. If you want tree runs, head straight and hit the ! Morph to make a jump which will land you on a path far ahead, with another tree run route dead ahead of you. Another ! Morph will send you flying across another large portion of the track. If you went the normal route, hit the ! Morph after the left turn to lower the terrain ahead and create a forked path. If you head left, hit the ! Morph to create a large hill. This leads to a quick left and right turn to where the paths merge. If you went right, follow the left turn and dodge the exploding barrels (or bombs...not sure what they really are). Hit the ! Morph to make a jump to the next ! Morph which will make five rings appear at the merge hill. Hit the ! Morph after the left turn to make a large hill. Around the right turn is another fork. If you head left, follow the drifting path right and left to the merge. If you went right, hit the ! Morph to make a huge left turn. Turbo through the water and drift the turn, then head up the hill to where the path merges. Past the waterfall is a ! Morph that makes five rings appear. There is a POW after the jump. The tree run path leads right to the finish line, and isn't hard to get through. If you take the normal route instead, just drift the two left turns to the finish line. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Silver Cup:China-Water Way~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-115 Stars Mirror S Rank-140 Stars Time Limit-3:00 Laps-2 Difficulty-4/10 Head around the first turn and hit the ! Morph to lower the terrain ahead to make it easily passable. Head straight and down the hill. After drifting a sharp left turn, hit the ! Morph (or avoid it) to cause lightning to hit some trees near you, causing a fire. Turbo through the water and hit the ! Morph to make a hill appear right infront of you. Once you land from this jump you will be right infront of the next ! Morph. This morph does nothing as far as I can tell. Drift around the left turn and hit the ! Morph to lower the terrain infront of you. Drift around the right turn and hit the POW to the right of the road to gather some tree runs. The normal route just bypasses the forest to the left. Drift the sharp left turn and head up the hill. At the top, hit the ! Morph to lower the terrain ahead, and make a hill appear at the end with five rings in the air. Turbo jump to collect them all and land right infront of the finish line. ------------------------------------------- ~5C.Gold Cup~ ------------------------------------------- You've got some tricky tracks to complete in the Gold Cup. With most of the tracks getting longer, you'll have to try better to not get disoriented with the reversed turns. With a little practice these tracks should be S Ranked after a short time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Gold Cup:Canada-River Run~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-165 Stars Mirror S Rank-205 Stars Time Limit-5:00 Laps-3 Difficulty-10/10 Most people, including myself, find this to be the hardest S Rank to obtain in the game. Best of luck to you. Start off by drifting the right turn and heading up the hill. Getting a turbo jump at the top is a bit tricky, so practice it if you need to. A Super Air should be simple here if you manage a turbo jump. Once you land from the jump, drift the next two left turns and hit the POW. Run over your competition for some easy stars which you will certainly need. Drift through the following right and left turns. After going off a small hill you'll land in some water. Turbo through it and around the left turn, and hit the ! Morph to create a hill ahead with five rings. Continue to turbo through the water and up the hill. Like in the beginning, the turbo jump timing is difficult here as well. While flying through the air, focus on getting a Super Air Spin as well as a Super Air. You need every last star you can possibly get, so air spins are a nice start. Once you land, hit the ! Morph in the left turn. That morph will lower the ground right of the downhill pass you make, revealing an easy Super Tree Run path. Head through it, instead of the normal right turn on the regular route. Turbo through the water to reach a fork. If you go left, hit the ! Morph to make a jump leading to the merge. If you went right, hit the ! Morph to make five rings appear on the jump after the left turn. Past the jump and merge is a tornado which will pick up a ton of dust, blinding your view as soon as you hit the POW. Either keep turning left to the finish line, or veer right and hit a ! Morph to make a path through the forest creating a huge Super Tree Run oppertunity. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Gold Cup:Finland-Tanker Hop~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-110 Stars Mirror S Rank-135 Stars Time Limit-3:15 Laps-2 Difficulty-7/10 At the start is a long, Super Driftable left turn. The path splits just after it. If you head left, hit the ! Morph to make a hill appear infront of you. When you land, hit the ! Morph and drift the right turn. The morph forms a hill with five rings ahead of you. Get the POW so that you have enough speed to reach the rings high in the air. When you land you will reach the merge point. If you went right, hit the ! Morph to make the tanker ahead crash into an iceberg. Use the hill ahead to hop the tanker, and when you land turbo over the next few islands and through the water. The merge is just ahead when you reach the mainland. Past the left turn the road splits again. If you head left, follow the path left and right up the hill. The path merges just past the peak of the hill. If you went right, turbo through the water to the ! Morph on the other side where the merge point is. The morph will form a hill and five rings just ahead. Past this the road splits, though barely noticable. If you head left on the grey-blue path you will hit a POW and can plow through the forest and get some tree runs in. If you keep going straight on the normal path, hit the ! Morph to make a hill appear which leads to the merge. The ! Morph up the hill just destroys the overpass. Hit the ! Morph in the straightaway to make five rings appear past the last jump. You will land with an easy Super Air near the finish line. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Gold Cup:China-Northern Ridge~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-110 Stars Mirror S Rank-140 Stars Time Limit-3:15 Laps-2 Difficulty-5/10 Start off by jumping over the first hill, then turbo jumping over the next few hills that you land on. Drift past the left turn up ahead, then hit the ! Morph to make a hill appear so that you can turbo jump over the Great Wall. If you miss the turbo jump, you will probably crash into the wall head on instead. You will drop downhill after the short right turn when you land. This ! Morph down here will cause some boulders to fall into the water, which just obstructs your path slightly so avoid this morph. Turbo through the water, then collect the POW when you drift the left turn. Avoid passing into the forest since there is no path there, so you would easily just hit a tree, scoring no tree runs. Past the bridge, hit the ! Morph to form a hill far away on the straightaway, as well as five rings. Continue to turbo through the water here, and try turbo jumping off the hill since the timing is a bit difficult. When you land, the finish line will be around the left turn. There's a ! Morph here that will make five rings appear over the first jump of the course. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Gold Cup:Scotland-Castle Keep~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-145 Stars Mirror S Rank-175 Stars Time Limit-4:30 Laps-3 Difficulty-7/10 Start with the quick left turn, turbo jump over the gap, and drift the right turn. Hit the ! Morph yo make a hill and five rings appear. Once you land, drift the left turn and hit the ! Morph to make a hill so you can jump over the castle. If you miss the turbo jump you will easily crash into it instead. While easily getting a Super Air you will see the road split ahead. If you head left you will go through a daring Super Tree Run path and end up ahead of the normal path. If you head right, you'll go over a jump. Drift the left turn and go up the hill and off the jump. Hit the ! Morph on the straightaway where the paths merge to make five rings appear on the short jump. Hit the ! Morph when you land to make the bridge around the right turn to rise, allowing for another easy Super Air. Get the POW when you land and boost over the jump. Drift around the left turn to reach the finish line. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Gold Cup:Fiji-Mountain Run~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-125 Stars Mirror S Rank-155 Stars Time Limit-3:45 Laps-2 Difficulty-7/10 Start off by drifting around the right turn to reach a split path. If you head left, follow the track on a tricky left hilled curve to reach the merge point. If you went right, hit the ! Morph to lower the terrain ahead to allow for a simple Super Drift along the wide left turn. Hit the ! Morph near where the paths merge to make a hill form ahead. You will see the paths split again soon after you land. If you go left, hit the ! Morph to make five rings appear at the hill infront of you. Past the turn when you land, hit the ! Morph to make a hill appear infront of you. You will land near the merge point. If you went right, hit the POW and follow the quick right and left turns to reach the merge point. You can also score some tree runs with this POW. Turbo through the pool of water, then hit the ! Morph to make a hill form ahead. Don't turbo jump off of it, or you will fly off the cliff and past the right turn you can't easily see. Hit the ! Morph at the bottom of the hill to make five rings appear to the left of the split path. If you go left you can collect these rings. It's difficult to avoid the ! Morph which will cause about a dozen explosions to rock the screen. The POW ahead will let you cruise through the path easily, and you can score some tree runs. After the jump at the end the paths merge. If you went right, follow the left and right turns and hit the ! Morph to make a hill appear. Drift the right turn when you land, then hit the ! Morph near the left turn. This will create a path infront of you to the finish line. It is full of trees, but they are easy to avoid and will allow for many tree runs. If you take the normal path to the left, you will reach the merge. Drift the final right turn to the finish line instead. ------------------------------------------- ~5D.Platinum Cup~ ------------------------------------------- The toughest and longest tracks in the game are riddled in the Platinum Cup. You are almost done with Mirror Mode, so make it count here! These tracks are long as you should remember, so hopefully you don't end up having to do any of them more than once. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Platinum Cup:Finland-Ski Jump Loop~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-100 Stars Mirror S Rank-125 Stars Time Limit-3:15 Laps-2 Difficulty-7/10 As soon as you start, the road splits. If you head left, you will head down a hill. Hit the ! Morph to make five rings appear over the next jump. The path will split a second time when you land. If you head left at this split, drift the left curve and head downhill. Hit the ! Morph to make a hill appear leading to the merge. If you went right at the second split, follow the left turn. You will soon merge with route from the right fork at the beginning of the track. If you went right at the first fork in the track, drift the left turn and avoid the trees bordering the road. Hit the ! Morph to make a hill and five rings appear ahead. The next ! Morph where you land and up the hill just destroys the overpass, doing little harm to you. The path will merge with the right fork from the second split path if you went left in the beginning of the race. Hit the ! Morph to make five rings appear ahead. Get a Super Air and reach the merge point. The path will split again right away. If you go left, just jump over the four islands, attempting to rack up a large Jump Combo as you go along. You will soon reach the mainland, with the finish line right ahead. If you went right, hit the POW. The ! Morph will make five rings appear, and you will need the POW's extra speed to land anywhere near the rings. The ! Morph from where you land just destroys the overpass, bringing up debris to damper your vision on the turn. Jump over two more islands to reach the mainland. There's a ! Morph right before the finish line which causes a tower to collapse on the right fork at the beginning of the track. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Platinum Cup:Scotland-Baron's Run~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-140 Stars Mirror S Rank-175 Stars Time Limit-4:30 Laps-2 Difficulty-9/10 Hit the ! Morph in the beginning to make a hill and five rings appear ahead of you. When you land, hit the ! Morph to make another hill appear just ahead. When you land from this jump, follow the calm left turn into the water. Turbo through the water and hit the ! Morph to make a hill appear for an easy Super Air. When you land, Super Drift the long left turn. Hit the ! Morph to make debris fly everywhere as hills appear on the sides of the road, possibly making some enemy trucks fly. Turbo through the water. Drift the right turn at the end, jump over the small hill, then drift through the left turn. Follow the hill upwards, then when you land drift the left turbo up the next few hills. Hit the ! Morph to make the bridge rise and make five rings appear in the air. When you land, head over the next few hills and the finish line is past the last left turn. This track is insanely difficult to get first place on. One computer truck always seems very far ahead and is near impossible to catch up with, let alone overtake. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Platinum Cup:Mexico-Devil's Ladder~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-135 Stars Mirror S Rank-170 Stars Time Limit-4:45 Laps-2 Difficulty-6/10 Start off by turbo jumping down into the water from the first jump. Across the water, hit the ! Morph to make a large hill form ahead with five rings in the air. Once you land, drift the left turn and hit the ! Morph to make a boulder fall into the ravine below, which you will easily fly over thanks to the jump. The boulder will cause cracking in the walls, easily visible, and once you pass the right turn it will end up destroying part of the wall in the huge jump. Hit the ! Morph to make a hill so you can fly through this hole easily, get a Super Air and maybe some air spins. After landing, drift the right turn and hit the POW. Rush through the tree run paths clearly laid out for you if you wish, or just follow the normal path up the hill. After the left turn past the second forest, hit the ! Morph to make a hill appear ahead of you. Jump over the next few gaps when you land, then pass a sharp right and left turn into the water. Turbo through it and hit the ! Morph to make a hill and five rings appear ahead. Hit the ! Morph when you land, then jump over the hill that you created. The ! Morph near where you land from this jump just drops some boulders in the turn. They won't really block your vision. Hit the ! Morph after the left turn to create a hill that leads right to the finish line. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Platinum Cup:China-Southern Loop~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-125 Stars Mirror S Rank-155 Stars Time Limit-4:30 Laps-3 Difficulty-6/10 Start by turboing to keep up with the competition. When you hit the ! Morph it will create a hill ahead of you, with a very likely chance of sending almost every other truck flying as well with it if you have decent timing. Use the jump ot fly over the wall. Hit the ! Morph where you land to make another ramp to fly over another section of the wall. Avoid the next ! Morph as it just drops a piece of the wall infront of you before falling into the ravine. It won't really affect you. Drift the right turn and hit the ! Morph to create a hill and five rings in the air. You can keep going straight and earn a Super Air, or land early while veering to the left to reach a POW and a Super Tree Run route. The choice is yours. On the normal route, keep heading straight when you land. Drift the right turn when you hit the ! Morph so you can fall downhill and into the water. Turbo through it and around the right turn. After the next right turn there is a ! Morph that will make a large hill appear ahead. Jump off of it, and up the small hill from where you land will be the finish line. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Platinum Cup:Canada-Winding Road~ -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mirror B Rank-250 Stars Mirror S Rank-300 Stars Time Limit-7:30 Laps-2 Difficulty-9/10 Start off by following the left turn until you hit the ! Morph, which will form a hill right infront of you. Use it to get across the large gap below. Once you land, drift the right turn and start heading downhill. Drift along the two left turns at the bottom. Past the next right and left turn is a split path. If you go left you will just go up and down a hill. At the end is a ! Morph that will cause a forest fire to start, only becoming distracting on the second lap. If you went right, hit the ! Morph ot make a hill form ahead. Drift around the left turn when you land. The ! Morph here will also cause a forest fire, and the paths merge just ahead. Drift along the right turn, be keep to the inside of the turn. When you exit the turn, you will crash into some rocks if you are on the outside of it. Be careful. The ! Morph in the water will makea hill form ahead. You will be near another ! Morph when you land from the jump. This morph will lower the terrain ahead instead. Head down and up the hill, and try to avoid the next ! Morph as you do so. It will drop the water tower into the water, making it so you can't easily just boost through the water. The ! Morph past the shallow water will lower the terrain ahead into the water, so just turbo through it to the left turn. Up ahead you can veer left into a tree run route clearly visible, although easily missed if you are traveling fast. If you travel the normal route, pass the left turn to the ! Morph where the tracks merge, and the morph will lower the terrain ahead. Past the left turn when you get up the hill you will have three paths. If you head left, there's nothing but a straight route to the merge. If you head right, hit the ! Morph to make five rings appear over the small jump. The paths merge ahead. Obviously you will probably head straight, through the forest and getting the POW along the way. You can get a ton of Super Tree Runs here. Be sure to let go of the gas every now and then when going up the blind hills. You don't want to speed into a tree and ruin the chance of higher tree runs. When the paths merge, follow the right and left turns to find a ! Morph. This will form a hill up ahead. Fly to the right and turbo through the water to a fork. If you head left, simply follow the road up and down the hill to the merge point. If you went right, drift around the left turn until you reach the merge. Hit the next ! Morph to create a large hill infront of you. There's a split path below you can see when flying through the air. If you land early and veer left you can hit the POW and go through another Super Tree Run route. Again, let go of the gas every now and then to keep your speed under control. If you went the normal route, hit the ! Morph to make five rings appear over the next jump leading to the merge. When you land, jump over the next two hills. Make a Super Drift around the last turn and be sure not to crash into any of the trees along the side of the road. When you exit the turn you will see the finish line at the end of the straightaway. ------------------------------------------- ~5E.Diamond Cup~ ------------------------------------------- The Diamond Cup in Mirror Mode houses the final course in the game for you to complete. The path splits just after it. If you head left, follow the road up the hill and off the jump to where the paths merge. If you went right, turbo through the water. Hit the ! Morph to make a jump appear just ahead which you can use to reach the merge. At the merge point is a ! Morph that will cause many meteors to drop onto the straightaway ahead, so avoid them if you can. If you veer left, grab the POW and run through the easy tree run course for a ton of Super Tree Run stars. If you follow the normal path, just turbo jump over the two hills and through the water. Around the sharp left turn is a ! Morph that will make five rings appear in the air over the next jump. When you land, try to avoid the ! Morph. This will cause the overhead pass to collapse, causing debris and dust to settle on the turn completely blinding the right turn. After it, hit the next ! Morph to lower the terrain into the water ahead. Turbo through it. At the end, you can veer right to find a POW which you can use to rack up even more tree runs. If you take the normal route, you will end up at the fork the tree run route also ends up at. If you head left, you will follow a straight path to the next fork. If you went right, you'll go through a driftable left turn to reach the second split path. At this second fork, if you head left go and hit the ! Morph to form a huge hill and five rings just ahead of you. When you land, continue downhill to where the paths merge. If you went right, go off the jump and hit the ! Morph when you land. This will make five rings appear at the next jump. Drift the left turn when you land to reach the merge point. From there, the finish line will be dead ahead. If you hit the ! Morph before it, a huge blue tornado will sweep the first turn of the course. By the time you reach it, there will be so much dust you will be blindly going through it. It looks cool, but you'll probably end up crashing. =========================================== ~6.Challenge Mode~ =========================================== If you're bored of racing, or you have already S Ranked all of the races, then Challenge Mode is the next stop for you. In Challenge Mode there are three different tasks, each one sprawling on two different courses. There is Gate Challenge, Ring Challenge, and Crush Challenge. There are two difficulty levels-Excite and Super Excite. If you S Rank every challenge in Excite you will unlock the harder difficulty. There is a preset amount of stars you need to earn in each mode, and you ONLY earn stars for doing the in-challenge tasks. You will NOT get stars for drifting, catching air, tree runs, etc. What is the reward for beating every challenge with an S Rank? Under the Options menu you will get a different star symbol option. This will change what the "stars" look like in each course. In Canada they will be maple leaves, in Mexico they will be cactuses, in Scotland they will be golf balls, in Fiji they will be bananas, in Finland they will be snowflakes, in China they will be panda faces, and in Nebula they will be crystals. They don't change how you get stars, it's merely a neat asthetic effect you earn for beating Challenge Mode. ------------------------------------------ ~6A.Gate Challenge-Canada~ ------------------------------------------ Normal S Rank-130 Stars Super S Rank-145 Stars Starting Time-6.0 Seconds In the Gate Challenges you will need to pass through 100 gates. For each gate you pass through you will earn one star, as well as have two seconds added to the time. If you miss a gate, four seconds are deducted from the timer. The challenge finishes when you clear all 100 gates or run out of time. Every ten gates you will enter go up one level in gates, making them smaller and smaller. The biggest thing to remember is to use the brake to line yourself up in later levels. It's better to waste 3 seconds getting through a gate than 4 seconds missing it and another 3 to line yourself up for the next gate. For every full second left on the timer at the end you get one bonus star. Start off by holding down the turbo through the first few gates, then sail through the bonus rings (each ring gives you an additional star). Pass through several more gates as you go up the hill. Slow down at the turn so you don't overshoot the next gate. As you head down the hill you'll hit level 2. Slow down for the next turn, then keep on going. After a few easy turns you will reach level 3 where the path splits. The gates continue to the right, though. Turbo up the hill and slow down at the right turn if it is necessary. Head downhill to reach level 4. The gates are getting considerable smaller now. Be careful as you head around the left turn. Brake if necessary. Turbo jump off the hill ahead of you and try to get the three bonus rings in the air, all the while making sure you still fly through the gates. After the left turn when you land you will reach level 5. Continue downhill and be sure not to miss any gates. Your remaining time should be getting pretty high, at least 20 seconds by now. Turbo through the water up ahead to reach level 6. Brake for the turn if necessary, then continue up the hill. Turbo jump off the top of the hill to reach the small bonus rings. Be especially sure that you don't miss any of the gates. After landing you will reach level 7 around the right turn. Although the path forks ahead, the gates continue to the left. Brake just incase in the right turn, then just keep heading straight to level 8. Turbo up the hill and turbo jump to reach several more bonus rings. Land early so you don't miss the left turn, and thusly missing several gates. You'll reach level 9 soon after. Head up and down the hill and always brake when you need to. These gates are extremely small. After several small turns you will reach level 10, the final level and with very thin gates. Slow down in the turns and be careful with how you jump, as a single wrong move can send you flying far away from the gates. You'll pass through the finish gate as you are going over the jumps, provided you haven't missed any gates to this point. In Super difficulty, all that is changed is you need more stars to win. Obviously, this means you will need to finish with a much higher time to claim victory. ------------------------------------------ ~6B.Gate Challenge-China~ ------------------------------------------ Normal S Rank-130 Stars Super S Rank-145 Stars Starting Time-6.0 Seconds Start by turbo jumping off the hill and through the first few gates. When you land, turbo jump again so you can reach the bonus rings in the air. After the right turn up the hill you will hit level 2. Be sure not to smack into the wall ahead, pass under it not over it. After the left turn, fall down the hill and hit the bonus rings as you do so and hit level 3. Brake in the sharp right turns to follow so you don't drift your truck far off course if you need to. In the hilly part up ahead you will reach level 4. Turbo jump off of the hill ahead so that you can reach the bonus rings. You will hit level 5 where you started the track. Don't turbo jump the first hill to avoid missing any of the gates ahead. Turbo jump off of the third hill, though, so that you can reach the bonus rings. Up the hill you will hit level 6. Continue to stay calm with the turns and slow down a bit when you head downhill. You'll hit the bonus rings as you do so, as well as pass into level 7. Definately brake in these quick turns. You will hit level 8 sson after in the hilly area. Turbo jump off of the hill ahead to reach the bonus rings in the air. As you complete the second lap you will enter level 9. Don't turbo jump off of any of the hills. Just focus on passing through the gates. The bonus rings are too high in the air, and way to small to actually pass through so don't bother. Up the hill you will hit level 10. Continue straight, and when you head downhill you should pass the finish gate if you haven't missed any gates to this point. ------------------------------------------ ~6C.Ring Challenge-Finland~ ------------------------------------------ Normal S Rank-105 Stars Super S Rank-130 Stars Starting Time-2:00 In the Ring Challenges, there are six rings on the course. You will go over six jumps, each one having a ring. You get stars based on the number on the ring. On Normal mode the rings start at 5. If you hit the 5 the next ring will be 10. If you hit that the next ring will be worth 15 stars. They aren't worth more than that. If you miss a ring it will decrease the the level below it. In Super mode the stars required are higher, and the first ring starts at 15 instead of 5. Basically, to get an S Rank in Super mode you MUST hit every ring. Again, for every full second left on the clock you get a bonus star. Don't turbo down the hill at the start. Hold the turbo as you go up the hill instead. Perform a turbo jump to reach the ring. Continue to the right when you land. Get a turbo jump off the next hill to reach the ring. Past the next right turn will be another jump. Use a turbo jump to reach the ring here. Be sure not to overshoot it. Head over the next few jumps. After the right turn is a small ramp. Turbo jump off of it and be sure not to overshoot this ring either. Continue heading straight so you can easily turbo jump off of the next hill to reach the ring. After the right turn are two small hills followed by the last hill in this challenge. Turbo jump over it to reach the final ring. ------------------------------------------ ~6D.Ring Challenge-Fiji~ ------------------------------------------ Normal S Rank-105 Stars Super S Rank-130 Stars Starting Time-2:00 Hold the turbo through the first hill. Don't turbo jump off of it, you will have enough speed to soar through the ring. Head dead straight to the next hill. Pull off a turbo jump to reach the ring. When you land, slow down for the left turn so you don't crash into one of the trees. Head straight up the hill and get another turbo jump to reach the ring in the air. Head down the long straightaway. After a quick left turn, turbo jump off of the small ramp to reach the ring. Continue straight and thru a U-turn. Turbo jump off of the hill ahead for the ring. Now, just keep heading straight to reach the last hill. One more turbo jump will easily land you the final ring. ------------------------------------------ ~6E.Crush Challenge-Mexico~ ------------------------------------------ Normal S Rank-135 Stars Super S Rank-195 Stars Starting Time-4:00 In the Crush Challenge there are five enemy trucks patrolling the course. With infinite POW active, your goal is to destroy all five trucks before time runs out. It sounds simple, and it very well is. There's not much to really be said for this challenge. All of the trucks at some point come to the main shallow water you start at. Remember to keep an eye on the radar at the top-left corner of the screen to monitor where the enemy trucks are. Just smashing them, or tapping them even, gets you 15 stars. If you get a Super Crush by really ramming into their truck, like head on collisions and stuff like that, you will get 30 stars. For every full second left on the clock at the end of the challenge you will recieve one additional star. ------------------------------------------ ~6F.Crush Challenge-Scotland~ ------------------------------------------ Normal S Rank-135 Stars Super S Rank-195 Stars Starting Time-4:00 There's nothing much different between the Crush Challenges. Again, just destroy the five enemy trucks to win. The star requirements are absurdly easy to reach. Scotland has far less water than Mexico (if that makes any sense...) so make sure that you use your turbo sparingly. You will be needing it to crash hard into the other trucks. =========================================== ~7.Awards and Achievements~ =========================================== Whenever you complete a race in Excite Race mode, you are likely to add to your achievement ratings. There are several different catagories, and they all keep track of certain things like amount of Super Air's, lifetime victories, and so on. When you hit a certain number in a particular catagory you will recieve an award in the form of a trophy. There are five trophies to be earned in each catagory. Here are the achievements and the required amount of them to get each trophy. Lifetime 1st Place Finishes-5, 10, 25, 50, 100 Lifetime S Rank-5, 10, 25, 50, 100 Super Air's-25, 50, 100, 250, 500 Super Tree Runs-25, 50, 100, 250, 500 Super Drifts-10, 25, 50, 100, 200 Super Truck Smashes-25, 50, 100, 250, 500 Super Rings-25, 50, 100, 250, 500 There's no real award for collecting every trophy. It's really just a way to keep track of how many of each achievement you've made over the course of the game. =========================================== ~8.Frequently Asked Questions~ =========================================== These are just some of the questions I see commonly asked on the message boards. If you can't find it anywhere else in the walkthrough, it's probably here. Q:Is this game good with the Wiimote controls? A:Personally, I and many others find the control to be perfect. It's very sensitive, which is actually a good thing here. The controller practically is its own steering wheel, and is far more accurate than what any control stick could give you. Q:Is the steering wheel attachment worth it? A:No. Hell no. You don't even hold the Wiimote like a steering wheel. For those curious, this attachment is basically just a steering wheel with a slot in the middle for the Wiimote to go into. Since you don't turn it like a real life steering wheel, the attachment seems pretty worthless. Q:I can't do multiple air spinz! A:See my Air Spin tutorial section. I link to a video that depicts the motions you should be using to get air spins. Also remember that it will take a little practice to get down, but it's absurdly simple once you learn how to do it. Q:What's this about using SD cards to upload music...? A:If you have an SD card, you can stick it into your computer and save files onto it. More importantly for Excite Truck, music files. Slap the SD card into the Wii (I think the card must be in the second SD slot, but I may be wrong). Start up Excite Truck and in the options menu you can use the music on your SD card to replace the music ingame and on the tracks. You can customize it as you see fit. Assign music to countries, individual tracks, or the entire game as a whole. The game saves your options so you don't need to repeat this process every time you restart the game. Q:What about multiplayer? How do you unlock it? A:It's not really "unlocked". Just activate a second Wiimote to be able to select multiplayer. It's a split screen race against you and a friend. There are no computer players on the course and no star requirements. The winner is the player who collects the most stars and finishes the race. Getting first gives the player a 15 star bonus, and sets a 30 second countdown timer for the other player to finish. Also, there's no Nintendo Wi-fi connection with this game so you can't play against others wirelessly I'm afraid. Q:Should I buy this game? A:Yes. It's very fun. You'll love it. =========================================== ~9.Credits~ =========================================== Me-Wrote this FAQ for you to enjoy You-The reader who makes this FAQ have a purpose CJayC-For making an awesome website to host all of these walkthroughs Copyright Deathborn 668.
