I would first like to thank CreamyNougat for allowing me to use his brilliant
layout for effectively documenting all of the special bonuses contained herein.

This is going to be my first submission to GameFAQs and I'd like some feedback,
positive or negative. If this helped or if it needs work, don't hesitate to
contact me, I'll respond as quickly as time permits.

All operation numbers are listed here just a they are in the game. If you wish
to find information regarding mission 1-1, simply hit ctrl-F and type 1-1.

Please note that this guide is not meant to be a walkthrough. I list the
requirements for all 3 difficulties, but the tips I give assume you have
completed the mission before and are attempting to get an XS. All operations
are written for single player mode, adapt the strategies for co-op mode by
splitting up the responsibilities between two players. If you're looking for
Stigma (and GUILT) strategies, there are full articles about each that can be

For this guide, <= means "less than or equal to." I feel I need to note this
because the correct character for "less than or equal to" is not part of
standard ASCII, and "<=" looks like an arrow.

I do plan to provide Youtube videos of the more difficult missions later on,
especially if there's even a slight demand for them.

Specific tips:		 Getting COOLs is the key here. Remember, wide and even
sutures are the best way to mend lacerations. The main point for bone removal
is the direction you pull them out. Make it exactly perpendicular to the wound
for best results.

Specific tips:		 The only semi difficult part here is the vital limit.
Be sure you're working one tumor at a time, and not hitting A or B when looking
for tumors. If you hit A or B to make the tumor's shadow persist, you'll only
get a GOOD instead of a COOL when the tumor is removed.

Specific tips:		 This is a very short, very straightforward operation.
Clean up the blood at the start, suture the wounds, and open him up. Drain all
the blood on the heart, then conduct the drain/incise/remove twice, cover and
gel procedure for the rifle round, complete defibrillation, and the mission
will be over as quickly as it started.

Specific tips:		 Speed is going to be the major key. Open her up
quickly and apply the gel to the two beginning light blood pools, then laser
all four and cut them all at once. Clear all the small blood pools again, then
start placing the yellow circuits quickly. After the third, start draining
pools, but be sure to continue applying gel, the small pools may be under large
pools too.

Specific tips:		 Be ready to move down quickly after the first area is
dealt with. Activate the Healing Touch and excise all the tumors and drain the
pus. Do NOT worry about the inflammations until the end. Excising tumors and
keeping pus formation down will significantly reduce number of inflammations.

Specific tips:		 There will be heavy damage occurring throughout the
operation. Be very careful when draining blood en masse, as that can set off a
chain of new wounds that will kill the patient quickly due to the extremely
restrictive maximum vitals in this mission.

When to raise vitals:	 Between skin graft applications/when waiting for pools

Specific tips:		 Burn victims are some of the toughest operations by
far, just be sure to wait until right after draining blood to apply skin
grafts. While waiting, remove the black burns or prepare more donor skin
patches. Other than that, there's not much else you can do to prevent a MISS
from a blood pool forming at the absolute most inopportune times.

When to raise vitals:	 After complete removal of gallbladder (Vaughn)

Specific tips:		 This can be done extremely quickly with Dr. Vaughn's
Healing Touch, but vitals will drop to about 5 when the gallbladder is
completely removed. Be ready to incinerate any stones that are close to the end
when you're done. For Dr. Blaylock, you'll need to check on gallstones more
often, but you won't have to worry about vitals.

Specific tips:		 Standard procedure, restrictive time limit. Again, the
small blood pools will break your chain if left too long. The line between S
and XS for this mission is very thin, be sure to pull every glass shard and
suture every laceration to the best of your ability to max out your score.

When to raise vitals:	 Often, but with vessel sedation at top priority

Specific tips:		 This one makes up for the ease of the previous Soma
mission by throwing a punishing combination of viewpoint movement, multiple 
aneurysms requiring sedation, and rapidly dropping vitals with a low maximum.
Work quickly, both doctors' Healing Touches will help in their own way, use
them to your advantage as best as possible. Remember to raise vitals before
suturing the last blood vessel, as there is no "close-up" portion of the
operation as with others. Be sure also to get COOLs when suturing vessels, as
the requirement for XS is high in this operation.

Specific tips:		 Stemming pus formation is going to be the hardest part
of this mission, the appendix absolutely needs to be removed first while only
draining pus that is directly impeding its removal. Going out of your way to
drain pus on the side will only give it time to produce more and threaten your
special bonus points.

Specific tips:		 Similar to previous operation. If you're able to
satisfy the bonuses, the XS is already yours. Keep cool and work quickly, and
you won't need to raise vitals before the drain breaks. After that, it's merely
cleaning up the final tumors and blood and the operation will be complete.

Specific tips:		 This is going to be a brutal aneurysm operation,
luckily though, vitals are maxed at 99. Two waves of four aneurysms will appear
back to back. To make matters worse, just satisfying the bonuses does not
guarantee an XS here. You'll have to rely on the speed boost of the Healing
Touch and your ability to get COOLs on blood vessel suturing to carry you
into XS range.

When to raise vitals:	 Should not be necessary

Specific tips:		 Keep priority on being careful when the split occurs,
as it will be the toughest part of the operation. The best advice you can take
here is to watch the nutrients at all times, try to ignore them if they will
notimpact the core so you don't lose time lasering the main body. This is one
of the rare missions where you'll need to actually slow down near the end and
gather points by draining and lasering nutrients and tumors. After the core
splits, hit both of the cores twice, then finish one off, then just drain and
laser all of the smaller stuff until about 3:35, then go ahread and finish off
the final core.

Specific tips:		 This is going to be an extremely brutal operation,
especially with Dr. Blaylock. The best advice I can give you here is that
you'll need to practice speed and accuracy when applying membranes. You'll
literally need to flick your hand back and forth, grasping and dropping
membranes in place as you do. Work on speed and raise vitals as much as
possible without passing 4:05 at the end of the mission.

Specific tips:		 Essentially the same mission as 5-2, except with blood
packets around the burst area instead of small lacerations. Unfortunately, it's
still a case of practice makes perfect. Mend the pockets around the burst, then
drain all the blood until the new pools don't form instantly, then dump
membranes madly onto the burst area and seal it with gel.

Specific tips:		 This is a luck based fight, unfortunately. You'll need
six injections total and there's no telling where the real Onyx will show up
after the web. The best thing you can do is hold your viewpoint at once side of
the spleen until you hear it dive into it again, then scan carefully across it.

Specific tips:		 This one is a bit tougher in hard mode, as every time
you rotate a panel, an adjacent panel will rotate with it. The best advice I
can give you here is just to keep trying it and memorize a strategy to unlock
it in the fewest movements possible. Try moving the first and last connecting
pieces to get an idea of where you need to work from there.

When to raise vitals:	 While arms are regenerating

Specific tips:		 As another "first Stigma operation" for Brachion, this
one will be significantly easier than the future encounters. There will not be
any 3-section arms for the venom to move through, so clamp off the end arm
parts and begin injecting. The best method I've found is to inject all of the
grappler tips with the serum before beginning the extraction. This keeps from
happening the mistake of trying to clip off the toxin and accidentally dropping
a grappler tip. Get a good feel for it, once you get past the 3rd wave, the
final one will be the easiest with the Healing Touch.

Specific tips:		 This is a fairly simple operation, the hardest part is
just watching the vitals. Keeping vitals above 70 is , seeing as they're maxed
at 90. Keep calm, but work quickly. Remove 2-3 tumors and apply membranes, too
many open wounds will drop vitals too fast to keep above 70.

Specific tips:		 Soma is going to be a pushover as usual, get rid of it
to get to Brachion, which will be the true fight. Again, work calm and fast.
Inject the shortest arm tip first, but excise it last. Ops will be tough with
Dr. Blaylock, just be very careful when the core splits and work on one half at
a time. Again, like the first Ops operation, you'll need to leave one core up
at the end to gather points from the smaller nutrients. Continue gathering
until your score is around 7200, the clock should be somewhere around 3:40-4:50

When to raise vitals:	 Anytime they begin to drop below 12, raise to 20-25

Specific tips:		 This mission is going to require extreme speed, as
Pepita's wound causes cardiac arrests very often. Unfortunately though, I have
yet to observe Vaughn's time-slowing Healing Touch actually increase the time
between the arrests so it's hard to gauge when to use his. Blaylock's, on the
other hand, is very valuable, as it reduces the need to administer stabilizer
as often. The best way I've found to carry this mission out is to work three

Specific tips:		 This is another multi-patient operation, and the first
one will be the most difficult, a burn victim. Work from the bottom up,
preparing 8+ donor sheets at once, curing black areas, and sealing two areas at
once, in that order. The other patients are standard procedure, just make sure
to not lose your cool and miss because of a minor mistake.

Specific tips:		 This is one of the simpler operations, despite its
somewhat imposing objective. Always kill off the Stigma before trying to attach
more parts of the liver. Treat Onyx first on the second one, and mend
lacerations while Onyx is flailing about after a serum injection. There's a
significantly lower chance of Onyx attacking due to the size of the organ,
mainly that you can see the whole thing at any one time.

When to raise vitals:	 Between tumor waves

Specific tips:		 This is a relatively easy mission, treat these just as
in the past, detach two vessels from all current tumors, then knock off the
last one from each and remove them quickly, then clean up the small polyps with
the laser and gel. With the Healing Touch, this is a breeze, some might prefer
to use Dr. Blaylock's Healing Touch earlier in the mission to stem vital drops.
It's really a matter of choice, do what is most comfortable for you.

Specific tips:		 Another multiple-patient operation, this time with
more than one strain in the latter two. Brachion will be a challenging but
straightforward fight, in contrast to the Cheir/Soma and Onyx/Soma patients
that follow it. Always deal with Soma last, but listen and watch for the small
red tumors it discharges, they must not be allowed to harden. Your ears will be
the best defense you have against Soma's tumors in the third patient, as your
viewpoint will need to be moved often, and Soma might be off the screen. Be
sure you're able to listen for the distinctive sound Soma makes when it creates
a tumor.

Specific tips:		 This is a fun little mini-game. Something of a mix
between Frogger and that horrible sun from Super Mario Bros. 3 the way I see
it. The only thing to do to improve here is practice. For the second stage,
remove all four of the left side pins quickly to be able to pull the right side
one out as it turns off. The other two are luck, practice, and accuracy.

Specific tips:		 This is a nightmare on hard mode, you'll have only a
split second to memorize the locations and colors of the inflammations, if you
wait too long, even with the sedative, at least one inflammation will burst and
you'll need to retry. Without getting too deep in to psychological methods of
memory, I'd say the best way to remember the inflammation colors would be to
find the color that has the most inflammations and make an imaginary shape
around them. Then try to individually remember the others. That's the best way
I can describe my method, if it doesn't work for you, find something that does
and stick with it.

Specific tips:		 This is the final battle, and the XS rank will require
a near-flawless operation. Remove red membrane sections and nearby pieces
first, then work on taking the other pieces. Try to anticipate its movements,
take out huge chunks if you feel it's about to teleport away. For the second
phase, keeping control is the key. Keep vitals above 90, and remove tumors as
soon as they begin to be dicharged. Suture wounds with skill, COOLs will be
required to hit XS here, but there will be plenty for you to work with.
Activate the Healing Touch at the end and finish off the Cardia.
