Evolving Innocent Devils
------------------------

An Innocent Devil will be given the opportunity to evolve into another form
with new abilities once enough evolution crystals have been collected from
defeated enemies. The crystals will be available in five different colors and
will determine the path that the Innocent Devil will evolve. The evolution
crystals collected from enemies will depend on the current weapon that Hector
equips.

Red    = Sword
Green  = Spear
Blue   = Axe
Yellow = Knuckles
White  = Special

The evolution path for each Innocent Devil will vary depending on the type.
Eventually an Innocent Devil will reach a point to which it cannot evolve
anymore. To turn off an Innocent Devil's evolution, choose "Summon" under the
character menu and press right or left while an Innocent Devil is selected to
enable or disable the evolution of that particular Innocent Devil (Crystal
selected = Evolve, Crystal not selected = Do not Evolve).

Breeding New Innocent Devils
----------------------------

After gaining a certain amount of levels and fighting a certain amount of
enemies, each Innocent Devil type will produce a Devil Shard that can be used
to incubate a new Innocent Devil. The new Innocent Devil will start from the
beginning of its evolution cycle. Breed new Innocent Devils from the Devil
Shards at Julia's Shop in the Bahjhet Mountains.

Storing Innocent Devils
-----------------------

Hector can only hold a certain amount of Innocent Devils at a time, so Julia
will allow you to store Innocent Devils at her shop. She will keep them for
you until you decide to take them with you. Extra ID pockets will allow Hector
to carry more Innocent Devils and finding a new Innocent Devil will allow him
to carry more as well.

Innocent Devil Chart
--------------------

Location: Baljhet Mountains

Once this item is gained, you will be able to view the various Innocent Devil
charts for each Innocent Devil type in the main menu by pausing the game,
pressing one of the shoulder buttons, and choosing "Chart". This will show you
the different paths that an Innocent Devil can evolve and what weapons and how
many crystals are needed to evolve it along said path. An Innocent Devil's
chart will be filled out as you evolve each type. Some Innocent Devils require
a certain weapon in order to evolve them to a specific evolution.

Special
-------

The special weapons all have unique moves that can be performed by by tapping
the Attack (A) button. Most of them are single attacks.

++ Gatling Gun

Rapid Fire (Hold A)

Hector will fire a stream of bullets at the area directly in front of him. You
can turn him to the sides slowly as he fires by holding to the left or right.

++ Bomb

Bomb Blast (A)

Hector will leave behind a bomb in midair. Three of these can be left at a
time. A bomb will go off after a few seconds or when an enemy touches a bomb.

++ Boomerang

Boomerang Throw (A)

Hector will throw the boomerang and it will fly either upwards, downwards, or
straight toward the left side. The boomerang will not return.

++ Fire Flask

Fire Bomb (A)

Hector will throw a fire flask and the flask will break apart engulfing that
area in flames. The flask can also be broken on a wall and the flames will
fall to the ground.

++ Shuriken

Shuriken Throw (A)

Hector will throw three shurikens at the enemy. The range is not that great,
but you can keep rapidly throwing shurikens without stopping. All three
shurikens thrown will take damage from the enemy.

++ Hien

Punch Combo (A, A, A)

Hector will do a three hit punch combo with the tonfa-like weapon.

++ Spike Shield

Shield Smack (A)

Hector will swipe the area in front of him with an upward strike.

++ Bat

Homerun Swing (A)

Hector will rear back and deliver a powerful bat swing to the enemy. This will
almost always knock down a standing enemy. The delay before the swing is quite
long.

++ Electric Guitar

Play Stance (A)

Hector will jam on the guitar and enter a play stance. From the Play Stance,
you can do the following...

Guitar Jam (A, A, A)

The first attack will actually send Hector into play stance if he is not
already there. Hector will jam on the guitar a total of three times. Once
while standing, once while bent over, and one while holding the guiatar behind
him.

Guitar Bash (FA)

This can ONLY be done while in Play Stance. Hector will lean the guitar back
and bash it over the enemy's head.

to guard his attacks if he leans back and tries to hit you. Once he is
disposed of, the door in the area will be unbarred and a ++MEMORIAL TICKET++
will fall from the ceiling up ahead. Enter the blue door up ahead to save your
game. Throughout your quest the blue doors will be a sign of a save room.
They will appear as red rooms on your map. Choose to "Register Memorial
Ticket" to designate that room as your save room to warp to if you use a
Memorial Ticket. You will need to constantly reregister your Memorial Tickets
throughout your journey if you choose to use them.

Exit the save room and head down the corridor on the east side (look at the
map) and enter the door at the end. A few Skeletons will appear along the way.
Keep heading south from the next room and you will eventually enter a room
where the doors will seal off and you will be forced to fight a group of
Skeletons. Fight them off and grab the ++QUICK STEP++ skill from the middle of
the room. This will allow you to quickly roll or flip out of the way of an
attack while guarding. Press a direction and the jump button while guarding to
have Hector quickly move in the corresponding direction to avoid an oncoming
attack. Walk up the stairs on the south side.

> When to steal: At the end of his Big Bang attack, there will be a small (and
I mean tiny!) window of opportunity for you to steal from him - timing is the
key. Stealing from Death is incredibly tough, and may require you to perfect
guard some of his attacks in order to get hearts to stay alive for more
chances. Thankfully, many of his moves can be perfect guarded if you get the
timing down. Use the fairy-type Innocent Devil to heal yourself while trying.

Below are four ways that I know of to steal from him successfully:

1) If you have the "Invincibility Vase" skill from the Tiramisu Fairy-type ID,
you should be able to stand in front of him while encased in the fire provided
that you do the ability at the right time. In order for his window of steal to
still be open while trying this method, you must do the Invincibility Jar as he
holds the ball of fire in his hand. It must wear off as soon as the fire
starts to go away. Jump and steal from him if you see the purple cursor.

2) Stand in front of Death as he unleashes his big bang attack. Guard the
first hit, perfect guard the next ten attacks from it, then jump toward him and
steal. For a more descriptive version, stand in front of him as the explosion
starts and block the first hit of the attack. As Hector starts to stagger
backward, press the block button to perfect guard the first hit, then press the
guard button every second after that nine times (for a total of ten times) -
jump and steal after the tenth perfect guard. If you accidentally block one of
the hits after the first perfect guard then subtract one perfect guard for each
normal block (ex. If you accidentally block the attack twice after the first
block then subtract 2 perfect guards for a total of 8 perfect guards before
jumping). This is the way IGA intended for you to get it since the final
perfect guard is timed perfectly with Death's window of steal.

3) If you can mix the above two methods, you may be able to steal from him as
well. Have your Invincibility Jar purposely wear off right before the final
hit of the big bang, perfect guard the hit, then jump toward Death and steal.
A perfect guard right before the steal will increase your chances greatly since
the final hit is right before his window of steal opens.

4) Use a Devil-type's "Magic Circle" to move up on Death as the explosion is
about to end then quickly end the ability and steal. This will consume many
more hearts than the other methods however.

back in the air. You must be ready for him to do this attack, which means you
have to stay right next to him. As he jumps, do a normal jump and steal from
him as he reaches the ground. Once you have stolen the item, do another jump
in the air and you might be able to avoid the shockwave attack on the ground.
He does his jump attack right at the beginning of each battle, so you can steal
from him at the start of the boss fight. When stealing at the beginning of the
fight, wait about one second as you move forward at the beginning, then jump
and steal just before he hits the ground.

> When to steal: You must hit him with an uppercut attack (R1 + Square, Square
+ X, Attack-type I.D.'s Brute Force) then steal shortly afterwards. The best
way to do this is to block his downward strike, tap Square + X, jump while in
the air, and steal immediately.

Another method to steal:
Have a battle-type equipped, staying close to your battle-type, have him do
Brute Force when the demon comes in for claw attack, simply double jump and
steal.

Yet another method to steal:
Use the Time Stop ability with a mage-type then uppercut with whichever
uppercut of your choosing. Double jump into the air and steal while time is
frozen!

\____/urse of Darkness ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In Trevor Mode, you will play Hector's game with Trevor and will be able to go
anywhere that Hector can go. Trevor can gain 100% on each map as well as find
all the chairs in the game. He will automatically start out with some of the
abilities that Hector normally has to find (Quick Step, Double Step, Marker).
There are no cutscenes or hints so you will have to know what to do when it
comes time to do it. Trevor cannot gain any money in any way so whipping
candles is basically useless unless you find an occasional meat in a candle.
Julia appears to be scared of Trevor so you can't buy any items for him - go to
her shop to see what I mean. Potions are always used when you pick them up.
Trevor cannot keep a potion like Hector. Trevor cannot carry any items besides
the various whips found throughout the game. Trevor will not have to worry
about suffering from any status ailments, since he has no way to cure them.
Perfect guarding will increase Trevor's HP and Heart count by 1 for each
successful perfect guard.

Trevor uses the all-great whip for his main weapon and he can find many other
whips scattered throughout the game in certain locations, which are described
in the mini-walkthrough. To equip a whip, pause the game and select "Equip"
then choose your whip. The Vampire Killer will be available from the start.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++ Trevor's Special Weapons ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Trevor has his special weapons in place of Innocent Devils: the Dagger, the
Axe, the Holy Water, the Boomerang, and the Watch. Cycle thought the different
special weapons using the D-pad. All of his special weapons will drain hearts
every time you use one. Collect hearts to replenish Trevor's heart gauge just
as you would an ID. Trevor has two different styles of attacks with each
special weapon: Normal (ID Attack button) and Alternate (Guard + ID Attack
button)

++ Dagger

Normal: Trevor will throw three daggers toward the enemy.
Hearts: 1

Alternate: Trevor will throw a wave of daggers toward the enemy and they will
revolve around him while hitting him the entire time.
Hearts: 10

++ Axe

Normal: Trevor will throw two axes toward the enemy.
Hearts: 5

Alternate: Trevor will hit the ground with a large axe and plow the ground up
around him
Hearts: 10

++ Holy Water

Normal: Trevor will throw the Holy Water creating a Holy Flame that will circle
him for a second.
Hearts: 3

Alternate: Trevor will throw the Holy Water creating a Holy Flame that will
move along the ground and target the closest enemy.
Hearts: 8

++ Boomerang

Normal: Trevor will throw the boomerange in front of him and the boomerange
will return shortly. This will hit the enemy when he throws it and as it
returns.
Hearts: 5

Alternate: Trevor will jump into the air and float creating an aura of Holy
energy around him that will damage anything that touches it.
Hearts: 15

++ Watch

Normal: Trevor will stop time for a short period.
Hearts: 20

Alternate: Trevor will stop time for a longer period.
Hearts: 30

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Stat Increases ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Trevor cannot gain experience from defeating enemies, though he can find
special items placed in each stage that will allow him to gain stat bonuses.

++ MP Max Up: Increases Trevor's Heart count.
   Shape: Heart

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Trevor Move List +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Trevor's attacks are much like Hector's, where you can change the attack by
pressing the Final Attack button after a series of normal attacks, but Trevor
can actually go back to the normal attack button once Final Attack has been
pressed to get some different results.

For this section please note:

A  = Attack
FA = Final Attack
G  = Guard
J  = Jump

Displayed in the chart below is a rundown of the different ways that Trevor's
attacks can connect:

                                                *Power Slam (FA)

                        \                      /

                           *Whip Strike 1 (A)

Trevor's combos with normal attacks can link into the Final Attack combos, but
it is a little hard to show in the chart above without it being confusing, so
turn your attention to the descriptions below.

This is a list of all of Trevor's attack combinations with a description of
each. The descriptions are for each single move that is listed and not the
entire combination.

-- Normal Attack button combos:

++ Whip Strike 1 (A)
   Trevor will strike his whip to the left.

++ Whip Strike 2 (A - A)
   Trevor will strike his whip to the right.

++ Whip Strike 3 (A - A - A)
   Trevor will perform an overhead whip strike.

++ Whip Spin (A - A - A - A)
   Trevor will spin while moving forward with his whip.

-- Final Attack button combos:

++ Punch (A - FA)
   Trevor will lunge forward with a punch.

++ Double Roundhouse (A - FA - FA) or (A - A - FA)
   Trevor will perform two stepping roundhouse kicks forward.

++ Rapid Kicks (A - FA - FA - FA) or (A - A - A - FA)
   Trevor will stand on one leg and deliver a series of kicks finally ending
   the move with a powerful overhead kick.

++ Whip Lunge (A - FA - A)
   Trevor will jump and spin directly toward the area in front of him.

++ Jumping Uppercut (A - FA - FA)
   Trevor will quickly uppercut the enemy and jump into the air with him.

++ Power Slam (A - FA - FA - A)
   Trevor will dive directly into the ground with a heavy dive attack that will
   plow up the dirt around him.

-- Extra Moves/Combinations

++ Air Whip Spin ([In the air] A - A - A - FA)
   Trevor will do three normal whip strikes then end the combination with a
   spinning whip attack while falling. You can also do this move after one or
   two presses of the Attack button (A - FA, A - A - FA).

++ Whip Uppercut (G + A)
   Trevor will uppercut the area in front of him with his whip.

++ Somersault Kick Uppercut (A + J)
   Trevor will perform a somersault kick diaganolly upwards. This is much like
   the Blaze Master's upward kick.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Special Whip Effects +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

+ Ice Whip - Sometimes freezes enemies, including two of Isaac's Ids (Abel and
  Crimson).

+ Thunder Whip - Sometimes paralyzes enemies.

+ Holy Whip - Kill all undead enemies in one hit, most of the time. This is
  the only way to kill a Blood Skeleton with Trevor.

See the list below for the location of each whip.

++++++++++ Item Locations/Whip Locations/Boss Tips/Mini-Walkthrough +++++++++++

++ Stage 1 - Abandoned Castle

Trevor's beginning stats:

HP      100
Hearts  060
ATK     030
DEF     010

HP Max Up - In the Fairy Devil Forge.

DEF Max Up - On B1, in the room with the wine crates. Whip through the wine
crates.

ATK Up - In the large circular room of B1 where Hector would normally find
$100.

* In the quiet middle room of B1, whip the third cracked pillar to continue.

Crazy Armor Boss - Trevor can literally mop the floor with this boss if you use
the alternate dagger special weapon along with his whip spin combo. Use the
Thunder Whip in Boss Rush Mode to totally rape him.

Crest - Defeat Crazy Armor.

Trevor's stats upon leaving Abandoned Castle:

HP      180
Hearts  065
ATK     040
DEF     020

++ Stage 2 - Baljhet Mountains

MP Max Up - In the Battle-type Devil Forge.

ATK Up - In the southeastern area where Hector normally receives the Perfect
Guard Skill.

* WHITE MARK (Holy Whip) - In the northern area with the Blood Skeletons, place
a White Mark on your map, so you'll know to come back once you have obtained
the Holy Whip.

* BLUE MARK (Water Drain) - In the southwestern area with the bridge and
waterfall, place a Blue Mark on your map, so you'll know to come back after
Stage 9.

Flame Whip - In the western area where Hector normally gets the Boiling Ring,
there is a teleporter that will teleport you up to the Flame Whip. The Flame
Whip is on the same platform where Hector would normally find an HP Max Up.

Wyvern - You can basically murder this boss just like the Crazy Armor boss as
long as you keep the Vampire Killer equipped - the Flame Whip will take less.
Take advantage of when he buries his head into the sand and you can basically
rape him with constant whip combos ending with the whip spin while he is in the
air. The Wyvern will take much more off than Crazy Armor when he hits you so
be sure to block his attacks and avoid the flames. Use the Square Tip Whip on
this boss in Boss Rush Mode. Surprisingly, he is not weak against the Ice
Whip.

Crest - Defeat the Wyvern.

Trevor's stats upon leaving the Baljhet Mountains:

HP     230
Hearts 080
ATK    050
DEF    025

++ Stage 3 - Garibaldi Temple

ATK Up - Break the wall on the west side of Garibaldi Temple before you enter.

Wind Whip - On 2F of Garibaldi Temple, this will be on the northwest balcony.

RED MARK (later) - Place a red mark in the room that leads you to Legion in the
southwestern most point of Garibaldi Temple so you can come back to him later
once you get some better whips and stats. You can try him now, but his second
form will be able to kill Trevor in about two hits for the moment.

Trevor Doppleganger - Arguably, Trevor will fight a different boss from Hector.
The Trevor Boss is now weak against light and has a dark attribute. Use your
Wind Whip while fighting him and always mix in some physical attack with the
Final Attack button since they will take off more than your whip. The
Alternate attack of Holy Water will work well against him also. In Boss Rush
Mode, use the Holy Whip against the Trevor Doppleganger.

Crest - Defeat the Trevor Doppleganger.

HP Max Up - On the pedestal in the room where you normally get Brute Force for
your Battle-type ID with Hector. This is the room directly after the Trevor
fight.

DEF Up - At the very bottom of B1 after fighting Trevor. This is the same room
where the Sixth Sense Brooch is located with Hector.

Trevor's stats upon leaving Garibaldi Temple:

HP     310
Hearts 085
ATK    060
DEF    035

++ Stage 4 - Mortvia Aqueduct

Circle Tip Whip - This is found in the room where Hector normally finds the
Mortvia Aqueduct map. This room is in the west part of the northern waterway
area.

DEF Up - Bust through the cracked wall shortly before exiting the waterway area
and follow that path all the way to the end to find this in the final room.

* Blast the damaged cannon tower to make a bridge over to the next door in the
cannon area.

BLUE MARK (Water Drain) - In the area with the standing water on 1F, place a
Blue Mark in that area on your map so you'll know to come back after Stage 9.

* Attack the staff with the glowing top piece in the room at the end of 2F for
a staircase to rise out of the floor in front of you.

ATK Up - In the drained pool right before the boss door where Hector only gets
a potion, Trevor will find an ATK Up.

Skeleton Diver - For this boss, you actually have the correct whip to use
against him, so equip your flame whip and attack for maximum damage. Attack
with the flame whip and this boss will be torn through in a matter of seconds!

Crest - Defeat the Skeleton Diver.

MP Max Up - In the Bird-type Devil Forge.

* A teleporter will appear outside the boss door after the Skeleton Diver has
been defeated that will allow you to reach the Forest of Jigramunt.

Trevor's stats upon leaving Mortvia Aqueduct:

HP     360
Hearts 100
ATK    070
DEF    045

++ Stage 5 - The Forest of Jigramunt

BLUE MARK (Water Drain) - Near the first save room of the Forest of Jigramunt,
place a Blue Mark on your map so you'll know to come back to the lake after
Stage 9.

HP Max Up - When you first enter the cave portion of the Forest of Jigramunt,
make a right (head west) and break the cracked wall near the door at the end of
the first tunnel to find this upgrade. Hector finds an XS Potion here.

DEF Up - In the tunnel after the above tunnel containing the HP Max Up, enter
the room to the side to find this on a pedestal. Hector finds the Absolute
Zero Ring here.

Ice Whip - In the room at the end of area behind the statues, you will find
this whip. Hector finds a Dragon Scale here.

Minotaurus - Once again, you have the best whip to use on him! Use the Wind
Whip mixed with Alternate Boomerang attacks to quickly tear through him before
he even has a chance to grab a final pillar. Be sure to get underneath him
while he is standing when you do the Alternate Boomergang attack.

Crest - Beat Minotaurus.

Trevor's stats upon leaving the Forest of Jigramunt:

HP     440
Hearts 105
ATK    075
DEF    055

++ Stage 6 - Cordova Town

DEF Up - Use the teleporter to teleport past the bars in the southeastern area
of Cordova Town to find this in front of the Park Swing. Hector finds an HP
Max Up here.

ATK Up - In the B1 area of Cordova Town, you will find this in the middle
tunnel. This is in the area past the Bench that leads to Mortvia Aqueduct.

Isaac - You have the best weapon for this fight as well! Use the Ice Whip on
Isaac. Only use Whip attacks while you attack Isaac - the Whip Spin may be
able to hit Abel and freeze him in place. The Alternate Dagger attack is good
for keeping Abel occupied also.

Crest - Defeat Isaac.

MP Max Up - In the Mage-type Devil Forge.

* In the long area with the candles, use the Alternate Watch attack to stop
time so that you can run up to the door in the back.

Trevor's stats upon leaving Cordova Town:

HP     490
Hearts 120
ATK    085
DEF    065

++ Stage 7 - Eneomaos Machine Tower

* Hit the lever and use the Alternate Watch attack to stop the timer while you
go up the stairs to reach the entrance to the Machine Tower.

Thunder Whip - In the first hallway of 2F, break the cracked wall across from
the door. This is where Hector finds the Purity Ring.

* Hit one of the screw-like objects in the elevator room to make the elevator
rise.

* Next to the warp room, you will see a teleporter next to the wall with the
crack. If you go that way and fight Saint Germain, you will not find a save
room before him. You're basically entering his boss room from the back by
taking that route.

* Use the alternate dagger attack to keep the Death Rippers away while you hit
the screw-like object to go up the second elevator.

* In the room with the machine structure, attack the pair of gears on the very
top to continue to the next area.

Saint Germain - Use the Thunder Whip while fighting him to take the most damage
from him. He cannot poison you during this fight thanks to Trevor's immunity
to all status ailments. The Watch weapon will cancel any of his time moves,
but be sure to only use the normal watch attack and not the alternate to save
hearts. The normal Holy Water attack works well for stunning him so you can
attack. He is also weak against the Abyss Whip in boss rush mode, but the
Thunder Whip is still his major weakness.

Crest - Beat Saint Germain.

HP Max Up - Inside of the Devil-type Devil Forge.

* Trevor will have to use a teleporter (pink portals) to move in between walls.

ATK Up - Trevor will find this in the Southeast corner room of 2F. This is in
the same room where Hector finds the Sacrifice Brooch.

Trevor stats upon completing Eneomaos Machine Tower:

HP     570
Hearts 125
ATK    095
DEF    070

(It is possible to go and fight the boss at the Abandoned Castle now if you
wish)

* Warp back to Cordova Town (Center) and use the teleporter to move to the
other side of the gate in the area off to the east of the warp room.

++ Stage 8 - Aiolin Ruins

DEF Up - Blast the cracked wall on the side of the mountain, to the left of the
gate, while inside the Gunnery Seat to have this upgrade fall from the side of
the mountain.

MP Max Up - In the room with the Leather Chair, in the southwest section of the
tunnel past the warp room. Hector receives a Frenzy of Wind from this room.

Abyss Whip - In the room with the Hilarious Cushion, in the southeast section
of the tunnel past the warp room. Hector receives a HP Max Up in a chest and a
Damascus Steel material from this room.

ATK Up - On a pedestal in the room with the Comedian's Chair. This is in the
middle area past the wall with the button in Hector's game. Hector finds an
Orichalcum material in this room.

Crest - In the middle of the room in the far west of the Aiolin Ruins. The
doors will seal off and Fishmen followed by Jins and Skeleton Troopers will
attack. Equip your Abyss Whip and fight them off with that whip mixed with
Alternate Holy Water attacks. Try to save most of your special attacks for the
Jins and Skeleton Troopers.

* Go back to the warp room of the Ailon Ruins then warp back to the Baljhet
Mountains and run all the way back to the boss room of the Abandoned Castle and
climb the stairs inside to 5F.

Trevor Doppleganger 2 - Based off of your current range of whips, use the
Circle Tip whip and mix up the attacks with the Alternate attack of Holy Water
to quickly dispel his shield. Use the Holy Whip once again in Boss Rush mode.

Crest - Defeat Trevor Doppleganger 2.

Trevor's stats upon leaving the Aiolin Ruins and fighting Trevor 2:

HP     670
Hearts 145
ATK    110
DEF    085

Enter the teleporter after the Trevor 2 fight to enter the next stage.

++ Stage 9 - Infinite Corridor

HP Max Up - Directly in front of the door to the warp room on 3F.

Holy Whip - Check in the area past the part where Hector normally has to use
the long glide ability to reach on 3F. Use the Teleporter below the stairs to
get Trevor to the other side. The Holy Whip will be found at the end of the
west path past the save point. This is where the Shyovasli insription is.

* Use the Watch Normal or Alternate attack to get under the skeleton heads that
block the door. Stop time and attack them just like you did with Hector.

Dullahan - Equip the Holy Whip and use Holy Water for this fight. When he
recovers you can murder him with a Whip combo if you have the Holy Whip.

Crest - Defeat Dullahan.

* Now for the fun part. After you have beaten Dullahan, you will have to
backtrack ALL the way to warp room of Infinite Corridor and teleport to the
Mortvia Aqueduct to reach the final stage. Now would be a good time to go back
and get any extra items in the areas where the water has drained, where the
Blood Skeletons once blocked the way, or you can go fight Legion.

Hector's stats upon leaving Infinite Corridor:

HP     750
Hearts 150
ATK    115
DEF    090

++ Backtracking

+ Baljhet Mountains Backtrack

DEF Up - Whip through the Blood Skeletons with your Holy Whip and you'll find
this on the pedestal in the next room.

DEF Up - In the tunnels to the side of the bridge with the drained water, enter
the north room to find this on a pedestal in the back of the Panchinko chair.

+ Garibaldi Temple Backtrack

Legion and Nuculais - Use the Holy Whip mixed with Alternate Dagger attacks (to
keep the zombies away) on Legion then use the Abyss Whip on Nuculais. You may
be able to beat Nuculais before he even gets big if you pound on him when he
reaches up under the floor.

Crest - Beat Legion and Nuculais.

+ Mortvia Aqueduct Backtrack

DEF Up - You'll find this past the area with the drained water at the end of
the east path when the path splits.

+ Forest of Jigramunt Backtrack

ATK Up - In the drained lake next to the first save point.

ATK Up - At the very top of the Tower of Eternity.

ATK Up - At the very bottom of the Tower of Evermore.

Trevor's stats upon backtracking to all areas:

HP     800
Hearts 155
ATK    135
DEF    110

++ Stage 10 - Dracula's Castle

DEF Up - Break the cracked wall behind the Highbrow Chair on Dracula's Castle
1F.

Square Tip Whip - When B1 divides into two paths, take the north path and this
whip will be in the final room that you come to on 1F. This is where the
Throne of Bones chair is and where Hector finds a Miracle Egg.

MP Max Up - In the Pumpkin-type Devil Forge on 6F of Dracula's Castle. A
teleporter will allow Trevor to move past the wall that leads to the Devil
Forge.

Isaac - Use the Ice Whip on Isaac and his Bird-type - it will actually freeze
the Bird-type just like it did with Abel. Use the Flame Whip against the Iytei
Battle-type and the Thunder Whip against the second Battle-type (Rasetz).

Death - Use the Square Tip Whip for the most damage. Unleash the Boomerang
Alternate Attack (Holy Cross) while right next to him for some incredible
damage.

Crest - Defeat both Isaac and Death then this will be found near the save room
outside.

Trevor's Total Max Stats (with Vampire Killer):

HP     850
Hearts 170
ATK    140
DEF    120

Dracula: Use the Holy Whip to quickly defeat him.

Dracula (Demon Form): Use the Square Tip Whip to take off the most damage since
he has no weakness. Use the Boomerang Alternate Attack to dodge his horizontal
attacks - Trevor will leap into the air and Dracula's arm will go under him
while the attack continually hits Dracula.

So, what do you get for beating Trevor mode? Well, you get a few pics of
Trevor as the endings credits roll. Don't you feel special? You can also play
the Boss Rush mode with Trevor if you defeat all the bosses.

\____/urse of Darkness ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

[1]

Q: How do I defeat a Blood Skeleton?

A: Evolve a Mage-type Nautilus Rod Innocent Devil and have him learn the
"Purify" ability. This ability is not a command ability, so you will have to
wait for the Mage-type to cast the spell randomly.

For Trevor, you will need to grab the Holy Whip, found in Infinite Corridor.

[2]

Q: How do I reach the other side of the northern area in Infinite Corridor 3F
and how do I open the big iron door on the south side on 3F?

A: For the north, you need a Bird-type with the "Long Glide" ability. For the
south, you need a Battle-type Juggernaut with the "Brute Force Lv.2" ability.

[3]

Q: Who is Shyovasli?

A: Isn't that the million dollar question? That inscription is actually a
reference to the Chauve-Souris spear, which is needed to evolve the third
Devil-type. Some users on GameFAQs explained this inscription in full detail
with a great theory complete with pronunciations.

"Chau pronounced in English : show
Ve pronounced in English : ve, can't really translate the sound better

Sou : Sue
ris : ree

'Showve Sueree'"

- Seijuro Hiko 13th

"If someone pronounced it correctly while telling a japanese person what it was
and then that japanese person made a castlevania game, with a hint about it--
but didn't change the spelling; he would pronounce and spell it 'Shyovasli'."

- fathedred

The inscription is found at the very end of the southeast end of Infinite
Corridor where you must use the Bird-type's Long Glide in order to reach the
floor on the other side. Have a Tiramisu Fairy-type with "Decipher" and she
will automatically read the inscription when you approach it.

This inscription is found in Infinite Corridor. Here is the full decipher for
the inscription in question:

There is only one correct path to the ultimate devil-type evolution. Find
"Shyovasli" or the path will never open. ...Excerpt from Sage Eneomaos.

[4]

Q: Where is this secret boss that you speak of?

A: In the Southwest most room of Garibaldi Temple, there is a room that you
will need to use the Devil-types's Magic Circle in in order to move under a
wall and gain accesst to the corridor behind the room. Follow that path and
head to the B1 section of Garibaldi. You'll find his boss door in a long
hallway complete with a save point. Make sure to save before attempting him.

The secret boss is Legion, better known as one of the coolest boss fights from
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. He has two forms, so it is basically two
boss fights.

[5]

Q: Why can't I get to this doorway in the Mortvia Aqueduct and this other
doorway across from the bridge in the Baljhet Mountains? There is water
blocking my path.

A: After you have finished the boss fight in Infinite Corridor, all the water
in the areas will drain and you will be able to go back and reach those areas
in question.

[6]

Q: How do I destroy the group of statues in the Forest of Jigramunt?

A: You need an Iytei Battle-type Innocent Devil with the "Shoulder Ride"
ability. Once you have one, summon him and stand at the top of the hill
overlooking the statues and use the Shoulder Ride ability to barrel down the
hill with the Batte-type and break through the statues at the bottom.

[7]

Q: How do I remove the vines from the doorway in the Aiolin Ruins?

A: A Mage-Type with any type of fire spell should do the job. Have the Mage-
type cast the spell in front of the vines to burn them and reveal the doorway
behind them.

[8]

Q: Why can I not get 100% in the Aiolon Ruins?

A: This is most likely because you have not noticed the secret button in the
hall of the northwest corridor of the Aiolon Ruins. Evolve a Probiscus Fairy-
type and have him/her learn the "Press It and See" Ability. Summon him/her
while in the corridor in the northwest corner and he/she will automatically
press the button for you. The wall will fall and reveal a secret entrance
behind it.

[9]

Q: Where is that Pumpkin Innocent Devil?

A: He is on the sixth floor of Dracula's Castle. Look on the map and you
should see a doorway where there is just a plain wall. Go to that room on the
sixth floor and use the Devil-type's Magic Circle ability to move under the
crack near the bottom of the wall. At the end of the corridor, you'll find the
door for his forge.

[10]

Q: Ok, so I'm in the Devil Forge, but how do I awaken the Pumpkin-type? He
just sits there...

A: Create a Pumpkin Mace from your materials (see Combineable Items Checklist)
then go back to the forge and strike him on the head with it. This will awaken
the small hero...

[11]

Q: Where are the Miracle Eggs located?

A: Go to the Southwest section of Garibaldi Temple, right outside the Legion
boss door to find a whole slew of Evil Core enemies. Defeat them and they will
eventually drop a Miracle Egg. You can also get a Miracle Egg after you defeat
the Golden Bones skeleton at the very bottom floor of the Tower of Evermore.
He will always leave you with a Miracle Egg after you defeat him. There is
also a chance of finding the Golden Bones in the location outside the final
save room in the Baljhet Mountains. The Golden Bones may be likely to appear
in any area that contains only Skeletons. This is very rare however.

[12]

Q: These Evil Cores are never going to drop a Miracle Egg...you LIE!!!

A: Yes they will...eventually. The item drop for a Miracle Egg is very very
rare and will sometimes take you about an hour or two of defeating Evil Cores
to get one. You can summon the Pumpkin Type Innocent Devil or Fairy Type and
equip the Rare Ring to boost your luck, but you will still have many battles
ahead of you.

[13]

Q: How do I evolve the Pumpkin-type to his final form for the middle three
evolutions on the I.D. chart?

A: You'll need to collect crystals with a certain weapon for each of those
evolutions. Bloody >>> Cursed Pumpkin = Death's Scythe, Tiny King >>>
Whimsical Angel = Short Sword, Clown Nose >>> Genius Chef = Frying Pan.

[14]

Q: Where is the Tower of Eternity?

A: Go to the far east section of the Forest of Jigramunt to find it. Make sure
to take some Magical Tickets with you just in case things get too hectic so you
can warp out of the tower - warping out and completing the tower is the only
way to leave.

[15]

Q: Where is the Tower of Evermore?

A: Once you have reached the very top of the Tower of Eternity, you will need
to have a Bird-type ID with the "Long Glide" ability to reach the top of the
Tower of Evermore. Stand in between the two candles near the edge then jump
and Long Glide toward the moon to reach the Tower of Evermore.

[16]

Q: I have read your description, but I still cannot steal from Death...WTF, I
am so frustrated with this...controller meet screen!

A: Stealing from Death is a matter of skill and/or luck. Perfect guarding all
the hits of his big bang attack while in front of him then jumping after the
tenth hit will take much skill, timing, and a little bit of luck. Using a
Tiramisu's Invincible Vase ability or any other way is just basically all luck.
I've done it both ways (Invincible Vase and Perfect Guarding) and they are both
very hard and will take you quite a while to master. Make sure to perfect
guard Death's attacks to boost your heart meter for your current Innocent Devil
(have a healing Fairy-type) to live longer. Keep trying, and remember that IGA
loves you.

[17]

Q: How do I activate Boss Rush mode?

A: You must defeat every boss in the game (Dracula's both forms and the two
optional Legion fights) then go to a warp room and "[Boss Rush Mode]" will
appear as the first option. All the bosses must be beaten on the same save
file. When you beat Dracula, save your clear file to get credit for beating
him.

[18]

Q: Can I steal from bosses in Boss Rush?

A: Most definitely. You can actually steal from the first boss (Crazy Armor)
who you couldn't steal from beforehand. The sad part is that you have to beat
all the bosses in order to exit Boss Rush, so if you steal that Death's Pulse
from Death, you better make damn sure that you don't die on the rest of the
battles.

[19]

Q: What do I get for beating Boss Rush Mode?

A: You will unlock the Music Box, which will open up the Sound Select option on
the title screen main menu once collected. The item will appear to the side of
the warp room that you appear in after Boss Rush.

[20]

Q: Where is the best place to level up Hector and my ID?

A: Go to Infinite Corridor, in the area where you have to use Brute Force LV2
on the large iron door and there is a room past that door with nothing but tons
Undead Lords and Bone Soldiers. You can gain tons of experiece for Hector and
your ID by hacking away at all these enemies. They will drop three evolution
crystals most of the time so you can evolve your ID rather easily here. Better
yet, there is a save room in the same area, so you can constantly enter and
exit the save room to make the enemies respawn again. Register your Memorial
Ticket at that save room and you can constantly use Magical Tickets to return
to Julia's shop when you grab another ID. Use your Memorial Ticket to go back
to the save room.

Another good place is the area right outside of the boss door where you fight
Legion in B1 of Garibaldi Temple. The Evil Cores in this area will give you a
bunch of experience just like the enemies in the area above. The best part
about leveling up in this area is that you might be able to find an extremely
rare Miracle Egg by constantly fighting the Evil Cores in this area. Be sure
to equip the Rare Ring to boost your chances. There is also a save room in
this area as well.

[21]

Q: Why is Hector so damn slow!? This game needs a run button VERY badly.

A: Tell me about it. Most of the time I forward flip through rooms to make
Hector move a bit faster. Hold the right shoulder button then hold forward and
tap Jump, pause, tap Jump, pause, tap Jump, pause, repeat. In other words, I
do continuous quick steps (not the double quick step).

[22]

Q: Is there any way to get a rare item back if a Gi-Lee steals it?

A: Yes. Go to Julia's Shop and she should have it for sale.

(thanks to Jorge for the info)

++ Version History

Version 0.9 - (June 16, 2006) - The document is almost complete, except for the
Trevor Mode Mini Guide plus some other things that I need to go back over. I
will proofread the entire guide over the weekend, so if your se anything lide
dis in hear than it will be Fixed buy next weak. I meant to do that. ;p

Version 0.95 - (June 19, 2006) - Hmmm, yes...well, I originally planned for
this to be complete upon the next update, but I still have a few more areas to
add (Hector Move List, Tower of Eternity and Evermore, finish up the ID
section, etc.) and I still haven't proofread the guide. So sorry to those of
you that are reading through all those typos. I'll fix them by next update, I
promise! Also, the Ctrl + F system is now actually working since I added the
codes throughout the walkthrough this time.

Version 1.0 - (June 23, 2006) - Most of the document has been proofread, but
there are still some sections near the end that have errors I'm sure and I'll
try to fix that in the next update. The main walkthrough should read well
though. Trevor's Move List has been redone and cleaned up. Added another
question to the Frequently Asked Questions section. I still have a bunch of
other stuff to add after the proofreading is totally finished.

Version 1.1 - (July 7, 2006) - Added an Extra Quest section to tie up the loose
ends that aren't detailed enough in the walkthrough. Started on a Hector Move
List. Also added some more details to the Innocent Devil section and corrected
a few errors here and there.

Version 1.2 - (July 25, 2006) - Finished up the diagrams for Hector's move list
and started on the Special Weapons. I'll describe each of his moves for the
Sword, Large Axe, Large Sword, etc, on another update. Added a bit more to
Innocent Devil section as well.

Version 1.3 - (July 31, 2006) - The Hector move list, the Innocent Devil
section are now completed. All sections are now complete for the most part. I
might still go back and add a few things at a later date.

Version 1.4 - (December 11, 2006) - Corrected an error regarding Beelzebub's
Seal. Numbered the Questions in the Frequently Asked Questions section and
added a new one on how to get an item back if a Gi-Lee steals it.

Version 1.5 - (May 3, 2007) - Corrected the requirements for the Salamander
ability under the Goat Head Mage-type. A few other minor errors were corrected
as well.

Version 1.6 - (July 6, 2007) - Added more information on stealing from Flame
Demons and added a bit to the Goat Head "Salamander" ability requirements.
