Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 script portions and character details possibly leaked

A source allegedly involved in the recording of dialogue for 'Call of Duty 2013' has leaked some snippets of dialogue from the game and confirmed that it will follow the Modern Warfare series' story arc. Normally we'd just say it's a plausible but unprovable guess, but this same source also reportedly leaked Sleeping Dogs script details back when it was True Crime: Hong Kong, which turned out to be accurate. So what's being said about the potential Modern Warfare 4?

The main character will reportedly be a battle-hardened soldier in his mid-thirties, with a 'nihilistic' point of view. In other words, he's a bit of a rogue, big on destruction and not caring for authority too much. Surely that's not a great trait for a soldier? The allegedly leaked dialogue lines are as follows:

"Reminds you of Phuket, doesn’t it? Only this time the dust gives you cancer… OK, park yourself and get ready. When this thing kicks off, put a hole in anything that moves."

"This is Sentinel Zero One, successful crypto change on C2 net break, requesting immediate update of blue force picture and status of artillery, over. I have you broken and unreadable, I say again, requesting updates to friendly positions and status of arty support. Do you read, over?"

"We’ve got KVA on the move! They’re going to strongpoint the main gate, ETA two mikes! We’re providing support for our heavy rollers! Ready up and let’s move!"

"Goliath, this is Sentinel Zero One! We have enemy armor at the gate, hundred meters north of our position! Requesting close-air grid mark three-one-six!"

Sadly, there's nothing of any real substance in there (except that this scene is NOT set in Phuket, that's for sure), as it's all fairly generic military tactical talk. But we're glad the crypto change on the C2 net break was successful. Bit of a spoiler, actually, come to think about it. Sorry about that.

Justin hasn't MW3 already been released? I'll let you off

Honestly, that was live with the wrong number for literally 5 seconds! :P But yes, I'm sorry to say I momentarily lost count of my Call of Duty games. Amazing we can be looking at MW4 already.

Apologies I was in the wrong place at the wrong time so I noticed your error, don't you just hate people who correct things :s but yeah it is easy to loose track of all these cod games. I hear they are going to do a spin off cod pinball game, followed by a series of sports games...

No worries mate. And I would actually play CoD Pinball :)

Are you shitting me? Black ops 2 just came out less than 3 days ago and we're talking about 4? Are they trying to get to a point where they release this shit daily?

Treyarch gets so much shit, but it's clear at this point that they're the ones who are actually taking this franchise anywhere. World at War fixed some of CoD4's issues (rifle grenades are duds at the start of Search and Destroy rounds, more open maps), Black Ops, changed up the leveling system, and Black Ops II made the campaign a little more than a straight line. So what is Infinity Ward going to do? Reskin the M4 yet again, but keep all the animations the same? Go on reusing the same character animations and textures from 2007? Keep pandering to the idiotic idea of Price as an unstoppable action hero badass? Even though I've stopped buying the games because of stagnation, it's been Infinity Ward's changes to the series that really turned me off.

WHY???? Why can't Infinity Ward take the hint and change up the franchise they created in the first place? Honestly, Treyarch is the new driving force behind CoD (creatively, at least): their last three games have taken the series in entirely new directions, in both single and multiplayer. Can't Infinity Ward start a new CoD franchise? Like what about a proper new installment, like Call of Duty 5? Or better yet, MAKE SOMETHING OTHER THAN CALL OF DUTY??? Once the Black Ops storyline has been concluded (I haven't gotten BlOps 2 yet, so it have already been concluded without my knowledge), Activision really should just can the franchise, or failing that, radically change it in some way. This series has gone on long enough.

If it doesn't have Captain Price in it at some point, I won't give a shit.

So do they have scripts already made all the way up through MW6 or something? I am really getting sick of annualization.

At this point, saying a Call of Duty game is leaked is like saying old people are gonna die soon. Unfortunately, the Call of Duty series will outlast the old people.
