No cover system. It's literally pointless. You already have cover. It's called manually moving your ass behind something solid. Not to mention part of the point of Call of Duty since the first Modern Warfare was that often a single piece of cover is insufficient, thus encouraging to only use it for a few moments before you keep moving. That's not dated design philosophy, that's called combat. (Albeit in more arcadey form.)

If there is zombies I want there to be more maps

Enjoyed this article however I have to disagree with the comment made about the ending of the game. Whilst the twist towards the end was great, the actual ending was horrible. Mason surfaces out of the water to be greeted by tens of US battleships, jets flying overhead spewing out smoke and about ten helicopter hovering above. Not to mention the rock music. I mean in an underwater operation what is the tactical usefulness of having at least 30 air vehicles flying over a certain patch of water? And the usefulness of the jets being there just to release celebratory smoke? Please, I hope in Black Ops 2 they have an ending that actually matches the tone of the campaign.

As a fan of Call of Duty (for the most part), I can't say I'm enthusiastic about this. BlOps was just way too dull for me. It was "Shoot people in the jungle! Now shoot people in the city! Now, uhh, sit and watch this interactive cutscene for 15 minutes!" Its flow was just too bland and tiring for my taste. I think if I don't get this to play with friends, I'll just wait for the next IW release (which will undoubtedly be COD: In Space.

Wow dude, I've found someone just like me: a person who a) likes CoD b) hates Black ops and most importanty c) likes Back to the Future. I fucking love you, man.

CHANGING THE FIRING MODES! god dam i thought they would fix that after 4. some dam guns are only single or 3 burst or full auto. its called modern warfare, yet the guns only have 1 firing mode....

I think it's time for a complete overhaul of the series. Maybe take a risk and take it out of first person view and turn it into a stealth game. Make there be a more focus on strategy. The only reason I see why all the games selling so much is because sixth graders are always looking for ways to feel awesome, and then everyone else just wants to play online. Online is the only selling point, I believe.

    Give this man a medal.
  • winner2 - April 27, 2012 10:10 a.m.

You are a genius. If they make that happen, I'll buy it just to play as Clinton.
  • jeremy-eickelberg - April 26, 2012 1:16 p.m.

sorry IW fan boys but 3arch is taking over. I miss the dolphin dive but love the fact juggernoob and martydumb arent perks in your favor. The only thing i want is less noobtubes. IW builds their games for scrubs plain and simple. If toobs were taken out half the people who think they are good wouldnt play any cod game anymore cause they cant run around with the xm25 and pocket tube. Also every game mode that is core needs to be hardcore. No hc ctf sucks ass IW. Also the presteige system has become a shit show. Making there be rewards for presteiging would be smart. Pretty emblems arent worth it. Then again the only people that would be rewarded are the fat jobless no lifes who sleep on a sofa in their superman undies and eat ho hos and hot pocketsD

I have lost interest in CoD and will not buy the next game unless it is vastly different than the last 2 editions. The singleplayer set pieces are always nice to look at but all the shooting of endless waves of men who just pop in from nowhere is just so stale now. The multiplayer also just felt like some small updates that do not warrant a full price purchase.

Kinect compativility? Think of all the joyous hours... lol

What I want to see from Call Of Duty 9 is the announcement that the series has been cancelled.
  • winner2 - April 26, 2012 2:34 p.m.

    I second this
  • josh-horvath - April 26, 2012 10:02 a.m.

i would like to see some better objective gametypes. like invasion from reach or assault from UT. the vanilla objectives we already have are really bland, compared to what we had in the past.
  • calool - April 26, 2012 9:04 a.m.

less insanely complex "easter eggs" (ascension much?) more attack and defend multiplayer maps (hotel was great, the fortress style was really good for objective games)

As I've said in an older comment, Call of Duty is like a bunch of cars. The first few were pretty good, but the 4th and 6th ones were pure Ferraris. However, the successive cars after that were too similar to their predeccessors and became shunned by former fans. Honestly, I hope that the next CoD actually changes this time. Scrap the ultra-tight and campaign-recycled maps. Give us open battlefields, space stations, underground bunkers and large urban neighbourhoods to play around in. Hell, scrap the current multiplayer entirely and come up with a brand-new multiplayer mode completely unlike the current system (I'd prefer something similar to Counter-Strike or Battlefield, to be honest). And call me crazy, but I think Zombies fu*king sucks. I want a revamped Spec Ops mode that include more creative missions than simply 'defend this position' or simply 'kill f*cking everyone'. Missions should be things like 'plant a bomb here then repair X and disable Y before escaping' and be much harder alone and more often than not require a co-op buddy. More sophisticated missions=better Spec Ops mode. In my opinion, the Black Ops campaign was a dull soup of recycled ideas and bonecrushingly linear gameplay. Hell, it was basically all 'press X to start, play and complete game and watch cut-scenes'. This time, I'd like to be given clear objectives, but complete them my own way. For example, instead of just walking down a linear route to kill Dragonov or Makarov or Bleznov (so...many...'ovs...), I want to be dropped into a large open space and given the freedom to get there however I like. And one more thing Acti'. I'd like a new engine, too. This comment doesn't sound unlike a letter to Santa Claus, but in my opinion if Activision/Treyarch did all the things that I've asked for, we'd get a truly cracking return to form that ex-CoD fans have been waiting years for. But it probably won't happen, and we'll just get another carbon copy of every other CoD game since MW1 which claims to be a brand new experience ("don't get TOO excited guys, but we're renaming Killstreaks CODstreaks! Hooray!"). Thanks a lot, Bobby Kotick.
