Brett Ratner developing Youngblood

He wants to direct the comic adaptation

Brett Ratner has nabbed the rights to Rob Liefeld’s cult graphic novel Youngblood and plans to throw it into his crowded development pot.

He’s scored the option thanks to his new deal with Indian media company Reliance, which stumped up the dosh to secure Liefeld’s creation for the Rat to direct.

“Most of the great graphic novels are gone, and Youngblood is one of the few comic books left with tentpole potential,” Ratner tells Variety. “It was a real personal passion project for me, and a lot of people wanted it but the amazing thing about the guys at Reliance is the speed with which they’re able to move.”
