FYI, there was also a PC version of the Batman Returns game, but this one was very differant to the SNES and Genesis versions, it was more of an adventure RPG that had you exploring Gotham City to find and stop Penguin, unfortunately, I dont remember it being any good, which is probably why it was missed out...

Good article. Some of these I have and haven't finished or played. I feel like I need to play them just to experience whatever they have--or don't have--to give.

I used to love The Caped Crusader on my C64; I don't think I ever completed the Joker's portion of the game though. It was great fun trapping a henchman in the corner and repeatedly kicking him in the air. Good times.

I never understood the love for the NES Batman. I always seemed to hear positive things about it but I hated it as a kid. Batman returns for Snes was much better. Or even that Joker Genesis one.

It was a pretty well designed game, and the soundtrack was really good too. Well, aside from the first two bosses requiring you to only sit in one spot to beat them, it was well designed. It really didn't take much from the license though. I could see why some kids wouldn't like it, as it was pretty unforgiving, almost at the same level as Ninja Gaiden. I think with Batman, I got to level 4, maybe level 5 when I was 9 years old. But I didn't beat it until I borrowed the game again when I was 12 or 13.
