Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood video confuses us

Our own Assassin's Creed guru has already explained the 10 things we'd like to see in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, the third in UbiSoft's historical/science-fiction game, and now a teaser trailer has surfaced on YouTube that clarifies absolutely none of Mikel's suggestions.

You can watch it for yourself here...

UbiSoft has already launched an official site for the threequel, titled Abstergo Industries (where the trailer is derived from) which is also fairly cryptic, including a complex looking puzzle that we fiddled around with for 10 minutes before realising we'd better get on with work. If you can crack it please let us know.

Any thoughts on this briefest of trailers?

Thanks @Tronto13 for how to solve the puzzle!

it looks pretty good. and i agree that ac 2 was WAYYY too easy. the game basically played itself. i hope that ac brotherhood will be a little harder than ac 2. also i think multiplayer would be a good idea.

I could stand some more Ezio. He was great!

I'm thinking content download or expansion, more than i am a full sequel (like Tronto13 said) because they never really finished with Ezio.

details are up on UK Official Xbox mag's site, oxm(dot)com(slash)article(dot)php?id=19442 Basically we are back as ezio but he is now a master assassin and his travels include Rome! The site is all hints towards the multiplayer where abstergo are creating an army through the animus to train them as assassins.

@hazentaylor Theyve already announced that youll be playing as Ezio again as it isnt u full sequil meaning it is going to also be set around the same era just a little later on

the puzzle was easy all u had to do was look at the other weapons and ud see a symbol that u need to click on in the puzzle lol i think tronto 13 might be right it looks like we might be playing a templar this time round (maby the templar we may play as is altir's love child he had with the templar woman that u see at the end of AC2)

they could have at least thought about putting some info about gameplay and maybe what time period it is your going back to.

Thanks Tronto13 for setting us straight.

all the ideas are awesome but i would also like to add that desmond could use his mind as a portable animus , maybe the game will revolve around that, how the screen changes from future to past...

As long as the new game isn't as easy as AC2 I'm fine. The whole game was amazing and it could last for a long time if you did the side quests, but it was way too easy and offered nothing to do after you got the easiest platinum trophy of 2009. The way the medicine worked the only way to die in game was due to fall damage.

I agree with the other ideas about playing as a templar. Maybe the large amount of animuses mean that they're trying to send many people to a certain point. Instead of a single person, they're building an army in the past.
  • Harmonator - May 11, 2010 2:36 p.m.

Personally, what I'm hoping for for the new game is a Revolutionary War setting as a female assassin. Think about the possibilities.
  • Raikage15 - May 11, 2010 2:11 p.m.

Right now I'm thinking that the Templars in the real world also got their hands on Animus' and now they're trying to get rid of Ezio and his human partner through the Animus, which they find out and makes Ezio to train more assassins?

Maybe you play this game from Abstergo's perspective. And maybe the last 16 test subjects is the online mutiplayer characters.
  • Tronto13 - May 11, 2010 1:57 p.m.

futher note to back up the playing as a templar guess... all weapons have the templar mark on them somwhere and each time you click on something a voice talks about how you could use it.
  • Tronto13 - May 11, 2010 1:55 p.m.

all the site is revealing is a number of new weapons: the axe, the claw, the bladed fan, the syringe, the dagger (this is already in AC1&2)and the switch blade. It also mentions training new Templars and the combat of stealth... mybee well get to play as a templar?

to solve it go to the bit with the tiles, click the pentagram in a circle, the pyramid, the venn diagram, the triangles, the omega with a dot in it and the eye in a triangle. This then takes you to another screen where you get a free wallpaper and a bit more info :)

all i got out of that is there are an assload of animuses
