Ursula - The Little Mermaid (1989)
The Movie Slob: A self-pitying she-witch with delusions of grandeur, Ursula was banished from the mer-kingdom by King Triton and has sat out her exile in a dank cave where few dare swim.
"Look at me, wasted away to practically nothing," she opines, clearly unaware of her own flabbiness.
Grossest Moment: Ursula chews on a live shrimp. Now that's tasteless.
Smaug - The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug (2013)
The Movie Slob: Now stick with us on this one. If the definition of a slob is somebody who's lazy, greedy and slovenly, Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch) fits that description perfectly.
He has, after all, dozed away his days in mountainous peaks of treasure, where he gets fat and lethargic over the many years. Hasn't he ever heard that fresh air's good for you?
Grossest Moment : Smaug proves he has an ego to match his massive wing-span when he gurgles "I am fire! I am death!" etc, bigging himself up something chronic.
Benjamin - The Graduate
The Movie Slob: Having graduated from college, Benjamin (Dustin Hoffman) is floating around in a pre-work limbo that sees him generally kicking back and not doing a whole lot.
Considering his parents are rich, though, he does get to act like a lazy bum in some very nice surroundings.
Grossest Moment: Though Benjamin's generally a well-kept young man, his morals are somewhat called into question when he sleeps with the wife of his dad's law partner.
Tripper Harrison - Meatballs (1979)
The Movie Slob: Head counsellor at Camp North Star, Tripper (Bill Murray) is precisely the kind of guy you DON'T want looking after your nippers over the summer holidays.
Though he does help young Rudy Gerner (Chris Makepeace) develop his confidence (bless), he's also louder than Tarzan, rides a death-trap of a bike, has no regard for camp rules and commits serious crimes against Hawaiian shirts.
Grossest Moment: Hosting a hotdog-eating contest…
Booger - Revenge Of The Nerds (1984)
The Movie Slob: He's named after something gross you find in your nose, which tells you just about everything you need to know about Dudley 'Booger' Dawson (Curtis Armstrong).
This guy is a dishevelled stoner who thinks nothing of burping into a microphone, picking his nose in public (hence the name) and getting innocent Takashi stoned.
Grossest Moment : The belching contest. Yes, it really is an actual thing.
Al Czervik - Caddyshack (1980)
The Movie Slob: Recently moneyed and with no taste to speak of, Al (Rodney Dangerfield) shows himself up something chronic when he attends a posh restaurant.
Loud in both clothing and character, he unsettles the restaurant's mood and clientele with his bright purple trousers and professions that everything on the menu "tastes like dog food".
Grossest Moment: "Did somebody step on a duck?!" asks Al, having passed gas quite spectacularly.
Jeff Spicoli - Fast Times At Ridgemont High (1982)
The Movie Slob: Not exactly the sharpest tool in the box, Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn) is generally too busy getting high to think about his education.
His understanding of history is brilliant. "What Jefferson was saying was, 'Hey! You know, we left this England place 'cause it was bogus; so if we don't get some cool rules ourselves - pronto - we'll just be bogus too!' Get it?"
Grossest Moment: Jeff orders a pizza to class, which is surely something every student's dreamed of doing, but never had the balls to.
Peter Gibbson - Office Space (1999)
The Movie Slob : Peter (Ron Livingston) transforms into the ultimate office slob after being hypnotised during a therapy session.
No longer giving two hoots about doing his job properly, he stays home, rearranges his desk and generally acts like a giant pain in the behind to his bosses. Which, bizarrely, works in his favour.
Grossest Moment: Peter decides to use his desk as a fish-processing station, gutting an entire fish across its surface. Yum.
Pearl - Blade (1998)
The Movie Slob: Otherwise known as 'Fat Vamp', and it's not hard to understand why, Pearl (Eric Edwards) is a vampire archivist who works for Stephen Dorff's fangified evil-doer.
In case you missed it, he's also really, really fat. Like, so fat that he can't even move when Blade (Wesley Snipes) starts shining a UV lamp on him.
Grossest Moment: Pearl's so upset when Blade makes his entrance that he lets rip. Well, who could blame him?
