10 best drinking video games

Above: Again, monkeys + booze = hilarity

5. Buzz Jr: Jungle Party (PS2)

What it is:
It's a party game in which four day-glo colored monkeys compete in sadistic events like throwing paint balloons at an angry gorilla, destroying one another's life rafts, or guessing which suspended crate does not contain a hippo about to fall out and flatten them.

Why it's perfect:
It's made for kids, so anyone can play. But more importantly, the ability to torture your friends - in the form of monkeys - is darkly satisfying. In our favorite example, every monkey sits in an electric chair and you win the chance to send a high-voltage shock coursing through an opponent's fragile simian frame. Even when you aren't directly hurting the other guy, they almost invariably suffer pain when they lose and you win. That makes it special fun.

Where does the booze go?
Making the loser drink at the end of each round is the best way. That way, you can get all survivor and form illicit partnerships as well.

I was the founding Executive Editor/Editor in Chief here at GR, charged with making sure we published great stories every day without burning down the building or getting sued. Which isn't nearly as easy as you might imagine. I don't work for GR any longer, but I still come here - why wouldn't I? It's awesome. I'm a fairly average person who has nursed an above average love of video games since I first played Pong just over 30 years ago. I entered the games journalism world as a freelancer and have since been on staff at the magazines Next Generation and PSM before coming over to GamesRadar. Outside of gaming, I also love music (especially classic metal and hard rock), my lovely wife, my pet pig Bacon, Japanese monster movies, and my dented, now dearly departed '89 Ranger pickup truck. I pray sincerely. I cheer for the Bears, Bulls, and White Sox. And behind Tyler Nagata, I am probably the GR staffer least likely to get arrested... again.
