Star Trek 2 might not be boldly making its way back into cinemas for the best part of another year, but that hasn’t stopped Zachary Quinto from bigging it up in a recent interview with The Wrap .
“It was bigger,” he says of his work on the sequel. “It was bolder, I think, than the first one, and that was pretty big and bold from my stand point. I’m really excited to see what they do with it.”
The sequel’s plot still remains a closely guarded secret, and Quinto wouldn’t be drawn on what we can expect to see the crew of the Enterprise getting up to this time around.
“I feel like, you know, my work is done on the movie right now,” says Quinto, “and until we have to go and promote it, then my work remains done and I let J.J. and his incredible team of people get in there and do the work that they need to do now.”
Meanwhile, Quinto is turning over new ideas for various behind the camera projects, having recently served as producer on financial thriller Margin Call .
“I’m just happy to be working on something else,” he says, “and be creatively fulfilled in other ways and be producing movies and be thinking about how I can, you know, get behind the camera in different ways and tell my own stories.”
Star Trek 2 opens in the UK on 17 May 2013.
