300: Rise Of An Empire has released a brand new Comic-Con poster featuring Rodrigo Santoro in all his glory as the cruel Persian warlord Xerxes.
The new poster shows a typically adorned Xerxes in full-on battle mode, snarling through gritted teeth with the accompanying tag-line, “Athens will burn”.
Baesd upon Frank Miller’s Xerxes comic-book, the new film will be set before, during and after the events of the original film, as the Persian assault on Greece continues.
Much of the action will take place at sea, with Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) clashing with Xerxes’ trusted naval commander Artemesia (Eva Green).
Directed by Noam Murro and co-starring David Wenham, Lena Headey and Jack O’Connell, 300: Rise Of An Empire will open in the US on 7 March 2014, with a UK date to be confirmed.
