With WrestleMania 33 in the books, attention has switched to the question of whether those who returned to WWE – such as new Raw general manager Kurt Angle, and tag champs the Hardy Boyz – will appear on the WWE 2K18 roster later this year. What many don’t realise is they’re already in WWE 2K17. And you can play as them right now.
It’s all thanks to the Community Creations feature, accessible from the main menu. Here, you’re able to search the internet for fan-made Create A Wrestler (CAW) versions of wresting favourites from the past, present and future. (Remember the words ‘Tessa Blanchard'.)
You’re limited to 20 in any 24-hour period, but can instantly get picture-perfect versions of the Hardyz, Angle, and other faces you might not have heard of before WrestleMania weekend such as Ember Moon and Aleister Blank. Below are seven GR+ recommends adding to your roster immediately, taken from the PS4 version of WWE 2K17.
Kurt Angle
The Olympian gold medallist was inducted into the Hall Of Fame at the weekend, and if previous years are anything to go by will be at the forefront of DLC plans for WWE 2K17. For now, celebrate his new role as Raw General Manager by downloading raiee86’s CAW, which boasts four unique attires.
Hardy Boyz
Matt and Jeff got the biggest ‘pop’ of the night as a surprise last-minute entry into the Raw tag title ladder match – and went on to steal the belts from Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. Both of these creations are from the hugely talented rell7thirty.
Killian Dain
Known on the Brit wrestling circuit at Big Damo, the mammoth Northern Irishman made a surprise appearance in the Andre The Giant battle royal at WrestleMania, placing third. He’ll be a fixture on NXT for the coming year as part of the crazed Sanity stable, making proeduardofmg’s CAW worth a grab.
James Ellsworth
Wrestling’s most memorable chin has provided repeated comedy on Smackdown Live over recent months, even if Ellsworth was relegated to Carmella’s second at WrestleMania. Nab bradford928’s creation to have him be your own in-game whipping boy.
Ember Moon
The brightest hope in NXT’s women’s division shone in her title match against the experienced Asuka at Takeover: Orlando, as WWE’s developmental talent kicked off WrestleMania weekend on Friday night. As I’ve been saying for months, GiovyEd94’s CAW is a must-have.

Aleister Black
Like Moon, the former Tommy End turned heads at NXT Takover: Orlando, although in his case it was for an unapologetically goth entrance rather than his mundane clash with Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas. Still, he’ll improve, and has a cracking videogame moveset, as demonstrated by proeduardofmg’s CAW.

I'm GamesRadar's freelance sports editor, and obsessed with NFL, WWE, MLB, AEW, and occasionally things that don't have a three-letter acronym – such as Chvrches, Bill Bryson, and Streets Of Rage 4. (All the Streets Of Rage games, actually.) Even after three decades I still have a soft spot for Euro Boss on the Amstrad CPC 464+.
