The Walking Dead video game teaser trailer rises, makes a mess of our clean floor

The Walking Dead comic books and AMC TV series have a talent for cultivating fear in broad daylight. It's a good sign for The Walking Dead video game, then, that Telltale Games manages to strike that same eerie chord in its first teaser trailer.

That kitchen is the same one glimpsed in last month's screenshots. As for that pool of blood, well, it's safe to say that wasn't chicken.

The Walking Dead will be set in the same universe as Robert Kirkman's graphic novels (yeah, yeah, “comic books”), but follow a new group of survivors as they attempt to flee Atlanta in the beginning days of the walker outbreak. Reporting on Telltale's progress in the latest presser, Robert Kirkman said,“Collaborating with Telltale on The Walking Dead continues to be a fantastic process. They understand the world and the characters that I created and what it takes to make a game out of them. What’s really exciting is that they’re telling a new story with new characters so you’ll get to see the same world Rick Grimes did, but now from a different point of view.”

Telltale's undead adventure game will be released in five parts starting this April. Look for it rise on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and in PC and Mac digital stores.
