UPDATE: The Division's queuing glitch (opens in new tab) has now ben patched out.
ORIGINAL STORY: If you've been standing around a bit in The Division (opens in new tab) then you're not the only one. It appears that some sort of glitch, or terrible design choice, means that, on a server full of people, there's a 'one at a time rule' for certain NPCs.
This is how I started playing The Division:

I'm not the only one either:

So NPC's can only talk to one person at a time in The Division ahahahaha fuck queuing online pic.twitter.com/LW8MK4EliVMarch 8, 2016
I'm not even going to hazard a guess as to what's going on here, or whether it's anything to do with The Division's client side data handling (opens in new tab) that was unearthed in the beta. So far, suggested fixes seem to be: restarting the game repeatedly (this worked for me), creating a second character, or just plain persistence.
There's no official word from Ubi yet although it seems to have its hands full dealing with people who can't claim season pass rewards:
@vintagesalami1 We are currently aware of this issue regarding the Rewards Claim Vendor and are investigating. Thank you.March 8, 2016
What seems odd is while this is a clipping nightmare created by everyone on a server trying to interact with a single NPC, another issue actually prevents players passing through each other leading to some players blocking doors (opens in new tab) and basically being dicks:
I've contacted Ubisoft and I'll let you know if I hear anything back.
Seen anythingTell us! (opens in new tab) newsworthy?
