Vin Diesel has taken to Facebook once more to promote the arrival of Riddick , using the social media platform to share a new image from the production.
The still finds our hero looking pensive, as he sits in the rain against a very barren-looking backdrop. Such is life for an intergalactic mercenary.
Said backdrop is part of the apparently lifeless planet upon which Riddick finds himself left for dead. However, that illusion is soon broken as a swarm of lethal alien predators don't waste much time in making themselves known.
Poor old Riddick is forced to activate a distress beacon in the hope of receiving some help. Sadly for him, all he does is attract the attentions of a rival gang of mercenaries…
Directed by David Twohy and co-starring Karl Urban and Katee Sackhoff, Riddick will open in the US on 6 September 2013, with a UK release date to be confirmed.
