The Walking Dead US Finale Watched By A Phenomenal 12.4 Million Viewers (NO SPOILERS)

AMC's season three finale of The Walking Dead which premiered at 9 pm in the States on Sundaydrews the biggest ever audience for the show in its homeland – 12.4 million viewers.

The third series has, on average, been delivering larger audiences in the key ages 18-49 demographic than other ratings blockbusters like The Big Bang Theory , The Voice and Game Of Thrones . The show has also typically been adding three million extra viewers on catch-up services.

AMC's president Charlie Collier, said, "Two words: Grateful. Dead. It's a joy that we get to work with such tremendous talent to make The Walking Dead and Talking Dead come to life for audiences that continue to engage and grow. In just three seasons, The Walking Dead has become a pop-culture phenomenon, entertaining millions of passionate viewers and obliterating traditional lines between cable and broadcast television.”

He didn’t say, “Look, sacking showrunners is the way forward! They produce better shows when they live in fear! Ha ha ha ha…” while twirling his moustache.
