Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles amps things up with Out of the Shadows trailer

Say what you will about 2014's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (we sure did), but it's hard to argue with a global box office haul of $493 million. Therefore, it's no surprise that Megan Fox, Will Arnett, and the heroes in a half shell are back at it again with the sequel - which has been subtitled Out of the Shadows - and the first trailer for the film has now been unveiled.

Check it out below...

It looks like the sequel will be taking more inspiration from the thirty-year history of the franchise; fans will no doubt recognise mutated foes Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (Stephen Farrelly), both of whom make an appearance here. Another newcomer to the franchise is Arrow star Stephen Amell, who will exchange a bow for a hockey stick as fan-favourite character Casey Jones.

That all sounds encouraging, and if nothing else from the trailer it certainly looks like the film won't be lacking in action. Here's hoping Dave Green - who takes over Jonathan Liebsman in the director's chair - can serve up another slice of popcorn entertainment.

Directed by Dave Green and starring Megan Fox, Stephen Amell, Will Arnett, William Fichtner, and Tyler Perry, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is released in UK and US cinemas on June 3, 2016.
