Rumours say Suicide Squad had more Joker and Bats but the scenes were deleted and Jared Leto isn't happy

WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Suicide Squad.

While Suicide Squad had a predictably strong opening weekend at the box office, both critics and fans have noted that there seems to be a few scenes missing from the cut of the movie now playing in cinemas. An unverified list of deleted scenes (via Reddit) may lend some credence to that notion, and you can check it out below...

That list is unconfirmed at the time of writing, but some of the scenes that didn't make it to cinemas were definitely glimpsed in Suicide Squad's numerous trailers. In any case, one cast member who is not thrilled with his reduced screen time is Jared Leto: "Were there any that didn’t get cut? There were so many [Joker] scenes that got cut from the movie, I couldn’t even start", he told IGN. "I think that the Joker… we did a lot of experimentation on the set, we explored a lot. There’s so much that we shot that’s not in the film. If I die anytime soon, it’s probably likely that it’ll surface somewhere. That’s the good news about the death of an actor is all that stuff seems to come out".

Leto's Joker performance didn't really leave much of an impression on me, and it's hard to say whether I would've liked his over-the-top take a little more if he had more screen time. It will be interesting to see just how much more Joker makes it to the Blu-Ray, although it looks like we shouldn't expect an ultimate or director's cut anytime soon.

Directed by David Ayer and starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, and Joel Kinnaman, Suicide Squad is out in UK and US cinemas now.
