Starhawk release date set for May 8, beta opens to public today

We’ve had a keen interest in the spacey sequel to the PS3 version of Warhawk for some time, we just weren’t sure when exactly we’d get to actually play the game. We knew the public version of the beta began today for PSN users, but when would the final version appear at retail? Sony finally let the cat out of the bag, giving word today that Starhawk will go on sale May 8 in the US.

The online-heavy game features to up to 32 players at once in a battle, though Sony also promises a full single player campaign, as opposed to Warhawk PS3’s online-only offering. You can find out all the details on the beta here and it’s planned to last for about a month. No Europe or UK release date was revealed, though Sony normally has those the following Friday. We’ll let you know as soon as Sony announces international dates.
