Spider-Man: Homecoming recruits Prometheus' Logan Marshall-Green as another baddie

Captain America: Civil War introduced moviegoers to the third version of Peter Parker since 2002's Spider-Man, with Tom Holland winning over fans thanks to his lively, spirited turn as the young webslinger. With production on Spider-Man: Homecoming scheduled to begin shortly in Atlanta, details on the supporting characters joining him for his first solo venture are starting to trickle in.

Casting continues today as THR brings word that young Spidey will have not one but two villains to face; Tom Hardy lookalike and Prometheus star Logan Marshall-Green is now attached to play second fiddle to Michael Keaton's big bad. With Keaton rumored to be playing The Vulture, it's possible that Marshall-Green could be getting his evil on as The Tinkerer. After watching him lapse from enthused scientist to pissed-off scientist to black-eyed monster in the Alien prequel, he's clearly got the goods to play a henchman.

The casting doesn't stop there. Deadline reports that Martin Starr (Adventureland, Superbad) is also involved in an as-yet undisclosed role. A third evil henchman, perhaps?

With these two latest recruits, the cast is starting to fill out quite rapidly. Earlier this week, Michael Barbieri signed up as another of Parker's school chums and Community's Donald Glover also got in on the action - but sadly, not to play Miles Morales as many had hoped. You can't win 'em all.

Directed by Jon Watts and starring Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Robert Downey Jr, Tony Revolori, Laura Harrier, Kenneth Choi, Donald Glover, Zendaya, Logan Marshall-Green and Martin Starr, Spider-Man: Homecoming will swing into cinemas on July 7, 2017.
