If you were a bit dismayed when it was revealed that the PlayStation VR would not come with the required PlayStation Camera peripheral, may you dis no more. Tech Insider reports that there will be a bundle that comes with the basic PlayStation VR package, as well as a PlayStation Camera and one PlayStation Move controller.
A company rep made the statement during an interview with President of Sony's Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida. As for why this bundle isn't the de facto way to buy a PlayStation VR, Yoshida said that "plenty" of people already own a PS Camera. What exactly that means is unknown, as Yoshida did not divulge sales numbers or percentages.
Another point not specified by Yoshida or the Sony rep: the price of this special bundle. Purchased separately these items would add up to roughly $500 ($400 PlayStation VR unit, $60 PlayStation Camera, $30 PlayStation Move controller), but usually these sorts of all-in-one packages present some sort of savings to make them more appealing. Either way, at least it sounds like there will be a VR option for you, regardless of what you already own.
