Initial list of Vita TV games missing some big hitters

Sony has released an initial list of Vita games that will be compatible with the newly announced PS Vita TV. Measuring 6.5cm by 10.5cm, the upcoming device adopts the Vita chip sets and system software to let users play over 1,300 Vita, PSP and PSOne classics on TV using a DualShock 3 controller.

However, since the PS3 controller isn't equipped with Vita features like a touch screen, rear touch pad, camera, electronic compass and microphone, not all Vita titles will be playable. The initial list of compatible games (in Japanese) doesn’t include some major first-party exclusives like Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Wipeout 2048 and Gravity Rush, or key third-party games like Assassin's Creed III Liberation and Rayman Legends. Supported titles do include Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault, Rayman Origins, the upcoming Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster and the newly announced Soul Sacrifice Delta.

It should be noted that the list is only an initial one, and one that's probably tailored to the Japanese market, where Vita TV will launch first in November, ahead of a global rollout on an unspecified date. Plus we’d expect support for more titles to be patched in as the service evolves. In addition to letting players enjoy Vita games and entertainment services on TV, Vita TV will allow users to play PS4 titles remotely. Yesterday, we suggested Vita TV could be Sony’s smartest piece of hardware for years.
